Scripture reading: Ephesians 4:11-13

When I think of God, I cannot think of Him as a man, as a person. All I can think of is a BIG being, filling the whole space, and filling us. But I can think of Jesus as a man. Do you see how God is good for us? He gave us Someone Whom we can relate to. Now, if Jesus is a person, if Jesus is a man, you must approach Him as a person. I’ll never forget what happened when I prayed the first time, asked Jesus to come into my life and felt the quickening. That means that His blood had touched me; it touched my mind and touched my consciousness. Before that, I was not conscious of God, but now I am conscious of His presence.

The next thing that happened to me was that I said, “Jesus, why don’t You come and talk to me?” Now, I am not telling you to say that, because the devil might come and talk to you and you could believe that it was Jesus. That is, however, not supposed to be. The devil is not supposed to be able to talk to you and you believe it is Jesus. Do you know why? The Christ in you will not be happy. Amen. But the relationship between you and Jesus Christ must be such that you know that Jesus is a man, you speak to Him as a resurrected man, and you deal with Him and expect Him to respond to you as a man would respond to you. What kind of doctrine is that? That you would expect Jesus to respond to you as a man would respond to you?

You see, we have made a step backward. Let me tell you why. We were going upward to believe that God has a five-fold ministry in the heavenlies, in the spirit. Jesus Christ is in the five-fold ministry or the left hand, in the natural, among us. But what I have noticed is that we have started not to believe in the five-fold ministry any more. We have started to believe in our abilities to do.

Now, if you have a pastor in your midst, immediately you would have rejected the five-fold ministry, because the five-fold ministry doesn’t have any pastor in it. Those who occupy the place of the shepherd would be too busy shepherding to be able to be fooling around and doing anything else. There is a problem that I see and I don’t know if it is as if you have forgotten, or if you want to be like another church or something, but I don’t see the function of the five-fold ministry. I don’t see the function of the prophet in your midst. As a matter of fact, if the prophet should function, you probably wouldn’t believe it. I don’t see the function of the evangelist. I don’t see anybody evangelizing anything. If the evangelists had the spirit of the evangelist, they would be praying and God would be sending people into your fellowships. Amen. “But why should I leave my church over there with my pastor and come to your gathering with the same function?”

I don’t see the function of the five-fold ministry. You don’t function in the five-fold ministry anymore. I don’t know if you understand what I am talking about. Every ministry of these five-fold has branches in the church among the people. In other words, Christ is working in you. Amen. As Christ is working in you and among you, He will give one a vision; He will give another a dream; He will give somebody something to uplift the brethren. But if I dream that you become a dog and start barking and bite up everybody in the place, what profit is that to everybody? God is telling us to run for our lives, the dog is coming. Don’t you understand? The ministration of the Spirit is to profit withal. If the Spirit of the prophet is in you, you will find that as you begin to function, there will be many more that will be functioning and together it will bring life and not death.

Thought for today: Let us believe in the five-fold ministry that God has in the Earth and not in our abilities to do.

Scripture reading: Romans 3:24-25

Praise the Lord. One of the greatest things about getting old is that there is a change in what you used to believe was the reality of your environment. The things that were absolutely real to you in your youth fade, and a new reality comes in that is absolutely real. I am trying to explain something here. The young people have a reality that is different from the reality that we who are older have. It is God that becomes more real to me than the things that I used to look at as precious and real. Those things fade away. They don’t have that value any more. The basis for your value changes, but it changes so gradually that you do not notice that it is changing. One day you wake up to find out that you have an altogether different perspective. It is like when you talk about the Blood of Jesus Christ. As young people you believe it, but somehow the reality of God and the Blood is not as tangible as it is now.

The Blood of Jesus Christ has become the basis of my life. I remember when I was young, one day Jesus took me and showed me the Blood and it laid a foundation in my life, that as long as I live, I will never forget it. You have seen the show that is called “The Passion of Christ.” It is a very gruesome thing, but then, what happened to me with Jesus when I was your age is that He took me through this with Him, and I was there. Do you understand? It did something to me and after that, my whole concept of when you say, “The Blood,” was changed.

So, the reality of God becomes more real. In other words, God is no longer a shadowy person out there that will come when you call Him, but He is someone that fills up the whole place. Amen. It is like you are walking into God; you are sleeping into God; you are talking into God, and then God is into you. It is difficult to explain. But what I want to say to you is: If you think of God, Who is He? Who is this God? You call Him God. Sometimes you must say Elohim; sometimes you must say Jehovah; sometimes you must remember that He is not any one person who you can call by one name that means all of Him because sometimes He is El Shaddai. Oh yes. When your soul is hungry, when your life is hungry, when you need God more than anything else, He is El Shaddai, the great Father/Mother God. He is both Father and Mother together, giving you milk to drink, giving you suck, satisfying the soul. Unless you have been in real trouble, you really won’t know God. I don’t want to tell you to pray to God to put you in trouble, but I am telling you that when you are in a really tight spot and you call out to God from the depths of your heart and your soul, that is the time you prove God to be more real than the very breath that you breathe. Praise God.

Scripture reading: Matthew 25:1-13

When we accepted Jesus Christ, we received life. The blood of Jesus Christ is the life of God which we received in our souls, which were dead in trespasses and sins. This life had to help us die to the alien life of sin which had occupied the soul. Then we had the self life, also, which had to die. So we see that when we accepted Christ as our Saviour, it was a matter of submitting to death in order to receive life. When that process is completed, then we begin to enter into Christ. Paul speaking to the Corinthian Christians in 1st Corinthians 12:13 declares,

“For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body.”

We are not baptized into the body of Christ until the body of sin and self is given a death blow. If sin is still reigning in our members, then it was not fully dealt with. The grain of corn cannot bring forth a new life until it has given up its own life. We must die to live, and that life does not begin until that death is complete. This is all done by faith. We cannot deal with this subject fully in this short article, because there would not be enough space.

The divine order of the entering into Christ is shown in the Tabernacle of Moses by the three veils. The first veil is called the Gate. The second is called the Door, and the third is called the Veil. The door is Christ, and the entering in is preceded by the washing at the Laver, which is death to self and a complete surrender to Christ. Self cannot be on the throne, and Christ be crowned as King at the same time. One King must depose the other, and even more than being deposed, ONE KING MUST SLAY THE OTHER, so that there is no further possibility of a coup to regain the throne.

THE ENTERING IN OF CHRIST INTO THE SOUL of man is a conscious act of man’s will, which is preceded by the three BAPTISMS of death.

There must be a death before there can be a resurrection. The three baptisms are:

1) Baptism in water, the baptizer being human
2) Baptism in the Holy Ghost, the baptizer being Jesus Christ
3) Baptism into Christ, the baptizer being the Holy Ghost

Christ enters into us, then we begin to enter into Christ. Just as the Holy Spirit enters into us, then we begin to live in the Spirit.

When Christ enters the soul as King, He begins His rule on earth within the individual. HE MUST REIGN TILL ALL ENEMIES ARE PUT UNDER HIS FEET, even death. We see, therefore, that He brings life and immortality to light by the gospel. 2 Timothy 1:10.

The beast nature of man, therefore. is being changed to the nature of the Christ.

From the illustration, we can see that the five wise virgins in Matthew 25 had oil in their lamps, which is the Holy Spirit which occupies our spirits, and not our souls. This stands to reason why, although we receive the Holy Spirit, we still have the power to reject His counsel and have our own way. It also is the reason why we still fall into sin, though having the Holy Spirit of God within us. The process of the Kingdom of God gently seeps into every area of our lives with our own free will consent, just as the leaven that leavens the whole three lumps of the woman’s meal in Matthew 13:33.

This, therefore, is the work of the overshadowing. The work is done in:

  1. The individual temples (individual lives)
  2. The elect church (called out of the called out)
  3. The time of the restitution of all things, the dispensation of the fullness of times, IN OUR TIME.

Scripture reading: John 14:23

We receive the Holy Ghost by obedience to the blood. Some groups teach that by obedience to the ministry we receive the Spirit and other attributes of God, but this is error. This is the same error which the Catholic Church and all the other denominations preach, when they say they are the only true church, and unless you belong to their ranks you cannot make heaven.

God’s order of things is that one obeys the Word of God to receive the blood of Christ, which is the life of God. The next step is to obey that which you have received, to receive that which you desire. We obey the blood, and we receive the Holy Ghost. When we obey the Holy Ghost, we receive the fullness. This is clearly defined by Jesus Himself in John 14:23,

“Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him.”

The Holy Ghost causes people to speak in tongues, but not everyone who speaks in tongues is filled with the Holy Ghost. In some places, devil worshippers speak in tongues. There are unclean churches who believe in abominable living, preaching and teaching abomination for doctrines, yet speak in tongues. People can speak in tongues psychologically. There are three types of tongues:

(a) Tongues from God
(b) Tongues from the devil
(c) Tongues from the mind of the individual.

God knows that we need the Holy Ghost so that Christ would be formed in us. Therefore, if you obey the blood, you will receive the Holy Ghost.

(Excerpt from The Pattern, 2nd Edition, 1995, pg. 126)

Scripture reading: Ephesians 5:26-27

There are three steps which the soul man takes from death to complete life in God.

1) The blood step
2) The Holy Ghost
3) The Christ or the manchild

1) The blood step is taken when the believer accepts Jesus as his Saviour, and submits himself to the spirit of the death of the cross, thus giving up his carnal life and submitting to a spiritual life. He then is passed from death to life; from a dead soul to a living soul. The blood, therefore, being the life of God, quickens us to life. We died being children of the dead Adam. In Jesus Christ, we come alive through submitting to a spiritual blood transfusion given by Dr. Holy Ghost. All living things feed. Therefore, the soul, being alive, cries for food and is fed by receiving the Holy Ghost to dwell within his spirit and energize his soul.

2) The Holy Ghost is God within. His duty is to form the nature of the Father within us, so that we will no longer be under tutors and governors, but by nature, we will do the will of the Father, and our natures will give us much joy when we do His will.

3) The Holy Ghost will form the nature of God within us by planting the seed of the Christ child within us, and when the fullness of time is come, we shall bring forth Christ.

Ephesians 5:26-27, “That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word, That he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish.”

Such terms in the word of God as “present it to himself” are not meaningless. In this instance, what God is saying is that the Spirit of God in the ministry is preparing the church to present it to Jesus as a bride without spot or blemish. Christ presents the church to Christ. There is no basis for the ministry or anyone else to call himself or themselves Christ. This simply means that the preparation of the church cannot be done by man, but by the Christ in man. The manchild ministry is not the ministry of Christ, because the manchild must necessarily grow up to the stature of a man before he can take a bride. When he does in the millennium, it will be the world at large which he, a many membered company, will take, to form Christ in them even as Christ had been formed in him. At this time, this company will include the man Christ Jesus who is the head of the body.

(Excerpt from The Pattern, 2nd Edition, 1995, pg. 125-126)
