Scripture reading: Daniel 7:27-28

The Christian church has been given a rule book called the Bible. A victorious book, which has stood fast from the time of Genesis to the present, and has conquered the devils right along the whole passage of time. We have seen some mighty deeds of men. In the example of Job, the book showed us man (stripped of God) conquering the devil. When Job conquered Satan, it was all on his own, since God had withdrawn from him; and the natural man kept his integrity before God and was able to beat the devil. In Job 2:4, Satan said, “skin for skin,” in disdain of man, but the man whom he scorned defeated him; to the glory of God!

Sometimes, when we get into accidents and have devastating experiences, we wonder how God would allow these things to happen to us. These, however, are a part of the challenges that we must face as workers together with God against the powers of darkness. It is not necessarily so, that we made some mistake or committed any sin. We should come out praising God more than ever before, because though the outward man perishes, the glory of God rises inside, and is a light to others and a defeat to the powers of darkness. The enemy never learns. The more he gets beaten, the more he keeps coming. This action makes us stronger and more determined to see the battle to the end.

All these stories in the Bible that God has been showing us, of David’s mighty men, Samson, Esther (a frail woman who was used of God to save the Jewish nation), Deborah the prophetess, Gideon with his 300 men defeating the Midianites, Shamgar with his ox goad defeating the enemy (Judges 3:31), and so many others, have been preserved in the Word for a purpose. There is a people who will never be conquered, but will conquer through the power of their testimony and the Blood of the Lamb. The evil weapons of the enemy’s warfare have now come under the judgment of God, and God has given us power over the power of the enemy. As we rise more and more in the strength of faith and understanding, the great weapons of terror, which the enemy used in the past against the people of God, are losing their effectiveness. We must bear in mind that, “…Though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh: (for the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strongholds;) casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ; and having in a readiness to revenge all disobedience, when your obedience is fulfilled” (II Corinthians 10:3-6).

We need to realize that God has given the church the power over the power of the world and the devil. Let us walk in the Spirit and in the faith of the living God. By faith, we will tread upon serpents; by faith, we will bring deliverance to this generation of people by the power of God and the Blood of Jesus Christ.

Scripture reading: John 1:1-9

Sometimes you have a loved one and you are praying for him and you feel that this one has gone too far. When the enemy begins to tell you this person is too bad or has gone too far, it is his work to cut down your ability to intercede. Anyone who says that of himself or of others is being ministered to by the spirits of Satan. The power of the Blood of Jesus Christ reaches beyond the boundary of all the barriers that hell can conceive and that man can put up, and God is able to save us to the uttermost by the Blood of Jesus Christ.

Someone says that they abort babies, that they kill babies, that so many of them are being killed, and that they have all gone to hell. We do not know the power of the Blood of Jesus Christ. The Blood of Jesus Christ will reach beyond human consciousness and will bring that fetus or that young child to God. God knows, if He had given that child a thousand years to live, what that child would be. And God judges him upon that basis. He brings salvation to him. He is able to save to the uttermost. Someone else says that men bow down to wood and stone, worshiping other gods and that they are lost. Man is not lost until he rejects Jesus Christ and he cannot reject Jesus Christ until he sees Jesus Christ. When he gets to know Jesus Christ, then he has the privilege of either accepting Him or rejecting Him. God must reveal Himself to man before man can go to hell.

John 1:1-3, “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.” Verses 8 and 9, “He (John) was not that Light, but was sent to bear witness of that Light. That was the true Light, which lighteth every man that cometh into the world.” This is the Christ who “LIGHTETH EVERY MAN.” We need to make note of this. “EVERY MAN THAT COMETH INTO THE WORLD.”

Why would anybody go to hell? John 3:18 and 19, “He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.” The point at which men go to hell is not because they are sinners, for we were all born in sin and shaped in iniquity and were all children of hell, but then we heard something. We saw something. We believed.

Are we more fortunate than all the other human beings who have not heard and seen? No. Do you know why? Because He “lighteth every man that cometh into the world” (John 1:9). There is no man that can leave this world and face God and say that God never gave him the opportunity He gave others. What he has to say is that God did bring him to consciousness one day. That he did see Jesus and he did reject Him and he is worthy of hell. The point is, God MUST (there are few things that God must do), in order to vindicate His name, reveal Himself to every human being on earth. A man can live godless all his life, but the hour will come when suddenly he will be awakened to consciousness. One minute, one second, will be like an eternity for he will see himself as he really is and see God as He really is and, in that moment, must either accept Him or reject Him.

Scripture reading: Hebrews 9:22-26

The Blood of Jesus Christ is an INEXHAUSTIBLE SOURCE of energy and resurrection power which lies at the door of our faith for immediate use any time of day or night, no matter what condition we are in. If you can believe, all things are possible to you. The reader is expected to understand that God is a Spirit and cannot have natural blood, therefore the ENERGY OF GOD’S LIFE which was incorporated in the human veins of Jesus brought to the earth a new concept of man being incorporated with God and His power. The man Jesus, therefore, became the divine transporter and the connecting link between Heaven and Earth as shown in the following scripture: “Through the tender mercy of our God; whereby the dayspring from on high hath visited us” (Luke 1:78).

He who visited us in the person and body of Jesus Christ was the very SOURCE OF LIFE, the immortal, the eternal and invisible Almighty God.

The principle underlying blood is that the blood of one being could pay for the sins of another. Hebrews 9:22 states that without the shedding of blood there is no remission of sins. The blood of the animal was shed for the sins of the people, but it never stopped the people from sinning again. This law, therefore, was God’s provision for an easement to humanity until the Blood of Christ should be shed to take away not only the sin and its penalty, BUT THE DESIRE TO SIN.

For this purpose, the high priest would take the blood of the sin offering into the Holiest of All once every year on the Day of Atonement (Yom Kippur). He would make an offering for himself and then for the people. This symbolized THE SPIRIT OF CHRIST who is the Anointed One entering into the HIGHEST HEAVEN before the presence of God, the Judge, with the Blood of the LAMB, Jesus. First, God would judge Jesus to be sinless, then accept the offering of His body and soul for us, and then humanity was set free.

Even as the high priest would return from the Holy of Holies to the Outer Court, where all the people were waiting, with the good news of their deliverance, so the SPIRIT OF CHRIST brought back Jesus from the grave giving us the good news of our salvation. The scripture clearly states this in Hebrews 9:22-26.

The Blood of Calvary is a historic fact: But one of the soldiers with a spear pierced his side, and forthwith came there out blood and water (John 19:34). The natural Blood of Jesus Christ was shed and drained from his body to the earth, thus fulfilling absolutely the role of the Passover Lamb – without spot or blemish, not a bone broken.

One may ask, “Why did it have to be?” The answer is this: By man came death to the human race and, therefore, every child born of Adam was born subject to the law of sin and death. Because sin was inherent (every man bringing forth after his kind), then it was necessary for the work to be done on the inside of man – in his innermost being or soul. The same law which allowed sin to reach into the soul of man by submitting to its dictates also allowed righteousness (the nature of God) to reach to our soul by submitting to it.

When we fell, we lost THE LIFE GIVING FORCE OR ENERGY of God. The power to have dominion over all things and to rule nature and our own destiny was lost and our enemy, the devil, became proportionately strong because of it. THEREFORE, WHAT WE NEEDED WAS LIFE – and this is what God sent in the veins of Jesus Christ to us.

Scripture reading: John 3:16-19

The responsibility of salvation is not upon humanity, but it is upon God to provide a means of escape from this awful condition into which we were born. The people in this age, since Jesus came, must hear of God. If they never hear of God, God cannot send them to hell. No man can go to hell if he has never heard of God, or never heard of salvation, or never heard of Jesus Christ. You say that there are so many heathen, so many people! God will preach salvation to these people and set them free wherever they are, even without a preacher. God will preach to the unborn babe, the child in the womb (Luke 1:41), to anyone. He will give life to those whom He knows will accept it, even before they can accept it.

In Psalm 139:13-16, David speaks to God concerning the time before he was born and how God had put His hand upon him in the womb. “For thou hast possessed my reins: thou hast covered me in my mother’s womb. I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvellous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well. My substance was not hid from thee, when I was made in secret, and curiously wrought in the lowest parts of the earth. Thine eyes did see my substance, yet being unperfect; and in thy book all my members were written, which in continuance were fashioned, when as yet there was none of them.” This verse tells us of a prenatal operation of God. God operates on people even before they are born. Because God is God, He can do anything. He can preach to a child who we cannot even communicate with. He can speak to an unconscious person. He can speak to a person who to us is uncommunicative; yet to Him, He can have dialogue with that person.

God has His voice in dark corners of the earth. The Word is being preached and is going forth.

Men will be judged according to the light which they have received. God is not in the business of sending people to hell. He is in the business of salvation. “And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil,” John 3:19. Salvation is dependent upon the individual, because God is giving to each person. If ever a man lived and is about to die and has not received the knowledge of God, the responsibility rests upon Jesus Christ to stop him at the gates of death and to give him an opportunity of accepting life or accepting death.

The thief on the cross is the best example of this. He probably did not have an opportunity before, but then God opened his eyes just before he went into death, and he saw Jesus, and turned to Him and said, “Lord, remember me when thou comest into thy kingdom.” Jesus said unto him, “To day shalt thou be with me in paradise.” “Paradise,” of course, meant down in hell where Jesus was going. The thief had an opportunity there of accepting Jesus. Jesus Christ “preached unto the spirits in prison,” and “led captivity captive, and gave gifts unto men,” and the thief on the cross was one of the first who received that gift. (See 1 Peter 3:18-20 and Ephesians 4:8-9.)

Thought for today: We are just instruments in the hand of God. It is God’s responsibility to draw men unto Him.
