All Power Is Given unto You
Satan comes to you and says, “Hey, look at you! Did you forget that you were so-and-so? Did you forget that you did such-and-such?” We have to learn to recognize the voice of the accuser of the brethren. Ask him, what does that have to do with you? Our sins are covered under the Blood of Jesus Christ. Any sin the Christian does must be out of ignorance, weakness, or mistake. We would never, never, willfully sin against God, because we are born again. That, which is in you, which is born again, will never say, “I am going to go and sin now,” because the Bible says, “Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin…” (I John 3:9)
The life that is in you is greater than he that is in the world (the devil). If you believe it, you can rebuke the devil and he will flee from you. He has to go. But, if you are afraid, you will be telling people that you do not know who you are in God. If you fear, then you do not know what you have and you will never be able to do the will of God. Do not be afraid to get up and cast the devil out. It is the will of God for all who believe.
We were in Africa one time and a boy was brought to us with a satanic fever. The demons were taking one child from this family every year as a sacrifice as per the agreement of some tribal chiefs. The time had now come when they decided to turn on a Christian child whose parents belonged to one of the groups connected to our fellowship.
Twenty-five years earlier, a sister in the Lord who lives in America had a dream that she was in Africa and saw a child that was to be killed by the devil. This sister was with us on this particular trip. When she saw the child, she immediately recognized him as the one she saw in her dream twenty-five years before. She told us of this dream and held the child in her arms as we prayed. A brother was holding the feet of the child and as the devil was rebuked, he felt the heat of the fever pass through his hands and out of the child. The boy cooled down immediately and was delivered!
“Thine, O LORD is the greatness, and the power, and the glory…” (I Chronicles 29:11) And He has given it all to us so that we can preach the gospel. Believe in Him and the power of God is yours in Christ Jesus. This power is the resurrection, and it is going to resurrect the whole realm in which we live. Everything around you will be resurrected by the life of Christ that is in you. Many people believe that Jesus Christ is going to return to the earth to fight the devil and do this and do that, but He is not going to do anything. He has already done His part! He said, “It is finished.” (John 19:30) He went to Calvary and completed our redemption. He finished His work giving us the tools and setting the stage for the total overthrow and eradication of evil from our realm.
In the garden of Gethsemane, Jesus had a great battle within Himself, “…Let this cup pass from me.” (Matthew 26:39) As the Christ (Messiah), He wanted to finish the job (to overthrow the devil, then and there). As the Lamb, He wanted to see the blood shed. “…nevertheless, not my will, but thine, be done.” (Luke 22:42) God’s will was done. And He said, “…All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. Go ye therefore…” (Matthew 28:18b-19a)
