I thank God for the day when He gave me a wife. He gave me a woman that I had never seen any other like. It is only what I could dream about. Let me tell you a story.
We had three children and lived in a little house. It was God who gave us the house. But somebody came and sued me for it. I went to my wife and said, “Well, God said in His Word, if your brother would sue you and take you to the law, you must give him your cloak and your coat also.” She said, “Amen,” and we gave the man the house. We had a little car and so the five of us, with all our earthly possessions strapped down on the top of the car were going down the road knowing not whither we go, because we had just lost our house.
Guess what the brother sued me for? We had to go to the lawyer to find out. When we asked, “What do we owe this man for?” he presented us a long list of all the money the man gave me as his tithes and offerings in about seven years! He was in a very good job and used to give us his tithes. He kept us on the road. We rode a motorcycle in our ministry at that time. We were over the hills and valleys, building churches, and he was being blessed because he was giving us his tithes. When he got mad with us, he sued us for the house and the tithes. The lawyer asked, “Are you not going to fight it?” I said, “No, if he wants the house, give it to him.” And my wife said, “Yes.”
I had never seen anything like that, anything like the reaction of my wife. You couldn’t do that to most wives. You would have to fight it. But, the Word of God was so strong in our lives! God put us through the paces. As we went down the road, she cried. But, she didn’t show me; she didn’t let me see her crying. She went into a corner and cried. And God said to her, “I will give you ten times of what you have lost this day.” And He really did. He gave us eight acres of land and a house of five thousand square feet, entirely different from what we had before. This is just another proof that God is faithful.
