“Sanctify yourselves therefore, and be ye holy: for I am the LORD your God.” (Leviticus 20:7)
We, as a people, have come to the point of finishing God’s plan. What are we going to do? And what kind of a people are we going to be? Are we going to be still going to movie shows and letting Hollywood feed poison into us? Do you know that the shows, which are designed by the devil, are preventing us from absorbing the truths of God and from being lifted up by the truth? Are we still going to continue with them? Are we still going to let our minds desire things that are not of God? Are we still going to continue the way we have been going ordinarily? We are not ordinary anymore! We must decide to not allow the world to filter into our minds. We must put up barriers that are very simple to do. These barriers are the Word of God. Just begin to meditate upon the Word of God and it will put a barrier in you so that you wouldn’t desire the world anymore.
There came a time in my life when I couldn’t go to a show anymore. Anytime I went, I was sick. I just wanted to get out of that place. Therefore, when I see the brethren who have a desire to go to shows, I always say, “Go.” You see, they have to go until they don’t want to go anymore because of their own decision. But I am saying that if you get the Word of God in your heart, it will stop you from wanting to go. Also, James 4:7 says, “Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.” We should stop participating in the things the sinners do.
I have seen the children lose their innocence. They believe in rock music, they want rock music. You have to understand that when a person wants rock music, it means the devil is ministering to him. Some of you, although you are supposed to be mature, have weaknesses and the weaknesses of your own heart will cause you to desire rock music. I have seen the rock music stop the desire for godly music in churches. One time I went into a church and started asking for godly songs. They said, “Oh no, that’s not our style. We want the boom, boom, boom rock.”
Let me tell you what music is all about, whether you want to believe it or not. I have been in music from the time I was a little boy. Music is one of the strongest and most powerful spiritual forces that can work upon your emotions and your mind. The reason they have fights at rock concerts is because the music disturbs them, both psychologically as well as spiritually. The beat “boom, boom, boom, boom,” disturbs something inside men. The name of the great musician is Satan. It was God who made him a musician. The Bible says that God placed the pipes within him when he created him as the archangel Heylel who Satan originally was (Ezekiel 28:13). It was God who did it! But Heylel recreated himself and is now using his gifts to submit humanity to himself. You have to begin to understand that the music of the world destroys the desire for God.
Let me tell you a story. A lot of you know Andre Crouch, the Christian singer. He would sing his songs with heavy metal beat and have his lady singers dress all in black. One time he went with his heavy beat to Africa thinking that Africans love this music style. While he was holding a concert, a man rushed out of the crowd upon the platform and shouted, “Stop it! Stop it! Stop it!” He was the sorcerer of that particular area. “You are calling all my spirits away from me! I can’t get anything done! You are taking them away!” It was a blessing to Andre Crouch. He is never going to do heavy beat anymore, because he understands the devils feed on it.
When you see people dancing and carrying on with the beat, it is the devil they are feeding. All their energy is going to the devil. This is a very simple principle. God said that the devil must feed on you and therefore you are his food (Genesis 3:14,19). Who, then, has the control of him? We, do! We can starve him out! And this is exactly what God is teaching us to do. He ordained this principle so that we would have the control and use it to stop Satan from functioning in our midst. Don’t let the devil feed on you and don’t let him feed on your brother! Sanctify yourself and keep praying for every brother who is desiring the world as well as every sinner you see. Deliver them from the devil so that he cannot feed on them anymore.
