The Power of Creation
Let me tell you about a creative power God has given unto us human beings. I am talking about 50 years of learning from God and I am giving it to you now for free.
Your body functions not because it is biologically in order, but because your mind tells your body what to do. One day, I was welding a pipe and my mind was far away. I put down the hot welding iron and placed my finger on it. My mind was so far away that it was only when I smelled the flesh burning that all of a sudden I realized that my finger was burnt; horribly burnt until it was crisp. I grabbed the finger and immediately, out of my mouth came, “In the name of Jesus, I shall not feel this, it will not hurt me!” I don’t know where the words came from. I didn’t contemplate them before, I just said them. And I felt absolutely no pain!
I was happy and got bold and wanted to show my wife, Mavis, the burnt finger. I knew I was not feeling any pain because of the Spirit of God. I ran inside the house and said, “Look, Mavis, here!” I was ashamed. It was totally healed! There was no burn at all! You see, I didn’t want the finger to be healed right away, I wanted to show her!
That was a symbol to me of what the power of Christ working through your mind could do. I am talking about the power of creation that God has put in every little one of you. Instead of going around thinking, “Lord, I am so sinful! Lord, I am so poor!” you should walk in the power of God. Don’t think about how sinful and poor you are! God knows all of that! But instead, begin to speak the Word of life and as you do, life will come forth.
I will give you an example: You have an infirmity and so you get before the mirror in the morning and say, “By the grace of God, this infirmity shall be healed. I shall overcome.” You must overcome it! Do you know why? Because you are speaking what God wants for you. God doesn’t want you to be sick. God doesn’t want you to have infirmities. God wants you to be well and He wants you to be happy.
Because you believe God, He will count it to you for righteousness. Romans 4:5 says, “But to him that worketh not, but believeth on him that justifieth the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness.” You try your best, but you are not righteous. However, God says that if you believe Him, He will count you just like a righteous person. He will do everything for you just like He would do for a righteous person. Can you understand this principle? God said, David was a man after His own heart (Acts 13:22). You may think: A man after God’s own heart going out and committing adultery and murder? But God testifies that he was a man after His own heart! Do you know why? His heart belonged to God! The devil took hold of his flesh, because he did not have Jesus as Jesus had not yet come. So don’t believe I am telling you that you can commit adultery and murder. But then, even to those of us who have Jesus and fail in different areas of our lives, God is still saying, “All power is given unto me, in heaven and on earth. Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost” (Matthew 28:18-19).
Brethren, let us stop counting ourselves as sinful, and poor, and let us be the people after God’s own heart so that the power of creation can come out of our beings and make us whole as well as those to whom God will send us.
