“And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus.” (Ephesians 2:6)
Do you really think that we are sitting in heavenly places now? Yes, we are, yet not in the natural, but in Christ. Not in any other way, but “in Christ.” The moment you get in Christ and move in Christ, you are part of God’s rulership. Let us see if we can understand this principle.
God has a body on earth. Arms, legs, neck, and other parts moving and doing things. They are all acting. It is necessary for you to know what part of the Body you are. I know that some of you don’t know it, but it is necessary that you would find your place. When you look at the Tabernacle of Moses in the wilderness, there is an Outer Court, there is a Holy Place, and there is a Holy of Holies. There is a ministry that is anointed for each of these places. I will give you an idea of what I am talking about.
When I was first called and sent out to preach the Gospel, I would pray to God for the souls of men. I was an avid soul winner. This is what I don’t see among the young people nowadays. I couldn’t live without souls being saved. It was like my food. I had to win a soul before going to work in the morning. I would spot them beforehand and say, “I am going to take that one tomorrow.” Or, I would be walking on the street, pass a man, look at his face and see how troubled he looked. I would feel compassion on him and say to him, “Stop! Turn back!” Can you imagine talking like this to a complete stranger? Then, I would continue, “Kneel down!” When you have that kind of boldness and power, people cannot resist. He might as well kneel down on the sidewalk and wonder why he did it. And so, I would win a lot of souls.
When I got into a congregation, everything that could be saved was saved. They were even thrown down on the ground if need be. The whole congregation was thrown down and couldn’t get up until they repented. I didn’t do anything. I just sat there and watched them. This was the area of ministry in which I operated. One night, nine men got up and challenged me. They said, “You have nothing, man. You are just putting brain over us. You are a schiester. Prove to us that you have God!” I replied, “Do you really want it?” They said, “Yes! Prove to us that you have God!” I said, “All right. Do you want me to pray that God would touch you?” “Yes. We want God to touch us. We hear too many words. Too many preachers come in here and deceive us with big words. We want God to touch us!” I said, “You are right up my street, boy.” I prayed one time and nothing happened. Brethren, the whole congregation started laughing at me. But I felt a laugh bubbling up in me. You see, I had to laugh, because I knew that when men begin to mock God, something is going to happen. The second time I prayed, a little girl with a fine voice, a joker of the piece, said, “Nothing has happened, sir!” The people just laughed me to scorn. I said, “Well, since nothing has happened, do you want to give me a chance to lay hands on you and pray for you personally?” She said, “Okay.” No sooner had I touched her she screamed. The people thought she was still joking. But, she screamed and fell to the ground. As she did, something in the building “arced.” It was like electricity in the air. The nine people were struck flat to the ground and couldn’t get up all night. They had to repent in order to get up. And God blessed them.
Brethren, let us get in Christ and move in Christ so that we might be part of God’s rulership and bring life to people around us.
