Let me tell you a story about astral projection, which is one of the practices of the occult. In astral projection a man can leave his body, travel through different areas, pick up information, and get back into his body. At one time the Russians were practicing astral projection in order to get into the White House and find out certain secrets. They had a big program in Russia, in which the occult people were hired by the government to go into the White House and take out secrets. They still can do it, but, there is a but in it. If you are out of your body and a good Christian man stands nearby, he might stop you from getting back in your body. And this is where my story begins.
We were in a certain place in the center of the Jamaican island where we used to minister. There was a man who was a high lodge man in the occult. He had his coffin up in the loft and when he wanted to go into astral projection, he would go lie down in his coffin and come out. There was a sister in our church who was very obnoxious to him. He despised her very much and decided he was going to torment her to death; the same way a spirit torments you. So he went into her house one night. She and her husband were sleeping and this man choked her and promised to kill her. Although they both were baptized in the Holy Ghost, they could not withstand his power. There is a law, but there is also another law that is higher. If you, through faith, progress in the Spirit, you will be able to overcome and conquer the highest sorcerer on earth. But they couldn’t manage it.
No one in the church would believe them, so they came to me. I had known astral projection and happened to have known that getting out of your body was possible. They told me this man was coming in their bedroom every night tormenting them and they couldn’t sleep. They asked me to come and sleep at their house. As they only had one bed, they both slept on it. I sat down on the bottom of the same bed and slept. The man came into the room. He did not expect a third visitor. As he came in, I said to him, “Mr. So-and-So,” and called his name. “I could stop you from getting back into your coffin by the rebuke of God and the Blood of Jesus Christ. But I am going to give you a chance to return and never come back here again. Go in the name of Jesus!” Immediately, he took off.
It so happened that in going home the next morning, I had to pass his house. As I was going along, I heard, “Mr. duCille! Mr. duCille!” He ran down to meet me and did everything to get me to come into his house. For some reason I went and sat down with him. He began to ask me all the secrets of the lodge. You know, the secrets of the lodge are not the things you are supposed to talk. This man was a “grand-master.” Every question he asked me I answered according to the lodge book. I didn’t know any of it but as he would ask me, the Spirit would give me the answers.
First of all he asked, “Who is your mother?”
I answered, “The church.”
He went on and spoke out all the secrets of the lodge. Then he said, “I am sorry. I never knew you were so high. What is your order?”
I said, “Jesus Christ.”
He never believed me. He didn’t live a month. He died.
People are fools. God is giving us something free, which we can get by trusting in Jesus and believing in Him. Yet, people have to go through a cult and a lodge and become a grand-master and other things like that. God is not with the lodges; He is against them. The Word of God is against all these human institutions. However, God is with all those that seek Him and trust Him.
