When the Church rejects the God-appointed apostle, and in his place creates their own (making their own seminaries to manufacture their own teachers so as to assure themselves that they will not change over time), then there is no immunity. The whole ministry becomes contaminated. God calls men, but then other men train them to be less of God and more of man. The criteria is no longer Christ but “exalted saint,” or “prophet,” or “teacher,” and in some cases some very unholy specimens of humanity who bring down shame upon the name of Christ and Christianity. Through this malpractice of Christianity, many of the heathen (who call themselves by various religious names) find solace in their benighted lot and blaspheme against the name of Christ.
What is God doing with all of this? You see, God had commissioned a people as a church, and because of their falling back from God and turning away from truth, He is going to remove that church. Every time He removes one, He sets up another. He CAN put one in! God is not losing anything. He will remove their authority as a church. We have seen many churches that have their authority removed as a church, yet they continue to function and souls continue to be saved. Some people believe if souls are saved that means they are doing well. Not true. God will save souls under any circumstance. Anywhere the Word of God is preached, He will save souls.
I once knew of a man who was a crook, a criminal, and a shyster. He came into a town and preached because he wanted money. He received money and left. He was arrested in the neighboring town for burglary. However, some of the people were saved through his preaching of the gospel and his teaching that the judgment of God was coming. They accepted the Word, were saved, and are still saved. The thief has to go and seek salvation for himself but the Word he preached was not his word. It was the Word of God. God mocked him and this is what God does to those who use the Word of God for all different purposes. Men use the Word of God to make money, to make themselves rich, and God allows it because God is mocking them. They receive their money, get paid off, and God’s people are blessed. We see it happening all around us today. Nevertheless, to God be the glory for all those who preach the Word of God with all sincerity, being anointed and sent by their Master.
