Scripture reading: Acts 13:47

Let me tell you something about the evangelistic ministry: The evangelistic ministry must preach the revealed truths of the Body. God said that at the end of time, all of the mysteries of the gospel would be finished. That means that God is telling somebody. The secrets of God are being revealed to somebody.

When I met Jesus, He began to talk to me and tell me some things that the church never heard before. I wondered if Paul knew some of those things when he wrote the books we have in the Bible or whether God just prophetically used him. You know, the prophet can prophesy above his head. The prophet doesn’t know what he is saying. He prophesies above his head. He himself is sitting down waiting to see the thing come to pass, because he never thought of it before he prophesied it. So therefore, the church now, the Body of Christ, is going to speak words beyond its own understanding. I am talking about your daily life. In your daily life you are speaking things. “Never mind, child, God is going to bless you.” “The LORD will bless you.” “Let us pray. Oh God, bless this person.” And you have let loose deliverance to that person. As long as that person lives, that blessing is going to follow them, because you pronounced it.

Your right hand will not lift a bigger thing by itself, but the left hand goes along with it and the thing is lifted completely. This is what God is doing with you. You are the left hand that will come together with the right hand of God – God and man working together to bring forth light in the earth. Every mystery of God is being revealed to this church. Now, my detractors will say that Cecil says that we are the only ones getting the truth. If you notice, that is not what I said. This church means this church over the whole world that is walking with God. The ears must begin to hear. Do you notice that we have five discernment gifts on the outside: hearing, seeing, feeling, tasting and smelling? You are the outside part of God’s discernment. You are hearing. You are seeing. You are smelling. You taste. You don’t even know what you are doing. Sometimes you wonder what is going on. You don’t know that you are smelling. But, let me give you an example of what we mean by a smell.

A spirit can come in the congregation on a certain spiritual frequency. I’m using words that you probably need to consider. Frequency – a spirit walks in through a door; he comes in on a certain frequency. If you are one who hears from God, you don’t hear him. If you are one who sees all the visions, you will never see him. If you are one who feels, you will never feel him. But he is coming in on the frequency of a smell, for you will never see a smell, you will never hear a smell, and you will never taste a smell. However, there are some people who God has put on that smelling frequency. If you are the one, you alone can discern that spirit and, if you are functioning, you will. Now, if you are not functioning, that spirit will have freedom in the midst of the congregation.

God is calling people to function in their own capacity. God is calling to His anointed. Amen.

Scripture reading: Matthew 21:22

The Word that I am seeing before me is the church functioning in its place. However, there is a bad habit among us: Everybody wants to do something else besides what God wants us to do.

I never forgot the musician, the pianist in Gatlinburg that came to me when I was out there preaching. He said to me, “What can I do? What can I do to really please God?” I said, “Son, fast tomorrow, and come into the meeting. Pray to God that He would use you as a musician.” I had never seen anything like that. The young man was so energetic and wanted to see God use him. He got in the church building as the first one. It was about six o’clock in the evening and the meeting was supposed to start at seven. He got in, jumped on that piano, and began to play; he just played from his soul. People came into the door, but they didn’t go to their seats. Nobody passed that door. They came and fell at the altar. The service started with an altar call. Everybody was weeping. The man was just playing; nobody was even singing!

You must believe in divine power. I see some of us don’t believe in power. You see, God taught me how to believe in power, how to pray before coming to service. My wife, Mavis, and I prayed for six souls one night and we came in to the church building and it was empty. Nobody came that night! But we started to sing and to praise God and somebody came in and went to the altar. Another one came in – six people came in to the altar and were saved that night. Divine power! DIVINE POWER! Begin to use this power, brethren. Begin to use this power! God has anointed some of you to pray; you have the greatest power in the church, and nobody notices you. You have the power to pray and ask God to move according to your prayer.

I remember when I used to love to see people get knocked down on the floor. You know, we go through all these stages. I was a young man. The first day that God called me, I received the baptism of the Holy Ghost, went into a Holy Quietness Church, and the whole church fell down flat on the floor and couldn’t get up. After that, I kind of felt that everywhere I went, people must fall down on the floor. You know, when you touch the person and the person doesn’t fall down, you have the tendency to give him a little “help,” (you push a bit). In fighting, there is a hold that you use in which you touch a person on his forehead. Anybody that you touch on his head like that has to go back and falls. I see them doing it in churches, putting their hands on the people, on their foreheads. It used to be Jujitsu in those days (note: Jujitsu is a Japanese martial art and a method of close combat). I would touch you on your forehead and you fell down. But you know, one day God came to me and said, “What do you really want? Do you want to humble the people so they fall down? Or do you want to bless them?” I said, “I want to bless them.” From that day on, rarely anybody fell down in my service because I wanted to bless them. I don’t especially want them to fall down. That doesn’t gratify me anymore. I just want to BLESS them. And that should be the desire of all of us – to bless the people of God.

Scripture reading: John 17:18-23

The problem that we have among ourselves in the church is that we need to see the ministry functioning. Each person should be asking God, “What can I do?” One time a brother was telling us what his father used to say, “Well, sweep the floor.” You are asking, “God, what is my purpose?” “God, what am I supposed to be doing?” “What part of the Body am I?” He sent you out there to sweep the floor, and all of a sudden while you are sweeping the floor, you find yourself. You clean up refrigerators, and then you find yourself.

God is now bringing the Body together as one. He said that you would be one, even as God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Ghost are one (John 17:21). Do you know why? Because there is one Spirit, and there is no division. Do you know what the apostolic business is? All it is is somebody who hears from God and gives it to you. So the apostolic vision is being sent out to the brethren, and the prophetic Word comes forth. The evangelist begins to do his thing. Some people believe that if you are an evangelist, you must go out and get revelations from God. Any evangelist that is getting a revelation from God is not an evangelist. He is an apostle. In other words, the revelation of the Spirit of the Word comes from God through the apostolic ministry to the brethren. Then you take it and begin to function under the apostolic ministry as parts of this ministry!

The next thing, the prophet gets a Word; he comes out with it, and the Word is to quicken you, to strengthen you, to help you to follow the apostolic Word. If there is another word coming forth, it is not God. God says, “Know them that labor among you” (I Thessalonians 5:12).

When I give out the Word, some of the brethren say, “Brother duCille wants everybody to follow him.” It couldn’t be further from the truth. God told me to have nothing to do with the bride. “Keep away from the bride,” He said. “Don’t bring forth any of your thoughts or things in the bride.” That was my instruction. I hope I am accomplishing it. I try my best. So, I don’t want anybody to follow me. What I am afraid of is that you are not following what God is telling me, and that’s the problem. Because, when God calls a person and gives him a direct Word, it is not something that he made up. I didn’t go to Bible school to learn it. I just listen to God and He carries me through the waters, through the fire. I gave up my accounting profession, because I couldn’t even think like an accountant any more. I had to give it up. I gave up everything that I knew and I began to concentrate on the Word of God. What you have is a ministry, a function that I have nothing to do with. I listen and I speak to you. I don’t write down what I have to say. What I am trying to say is that you have a privilege that not many people have, to hear from someone who has a fresh flow from God. Now, if it is not God, you must tell me. The fruit of what I am saying must come forth in you or else it is a waste of time.

So the point is that God appoints men and women with good faculties, who can listen and say, “Wait, this didn’t feel right!” “This did not sound right!” When you say that, it is a blessing to me. When anybody comes to me and says, “What you preached tonight didn’t sound right!” it is a blessing to me. The blessing is that I don’t know anything for myself. If you say something, I go back to God and say, “Did You tell me this, or did this come out of my mind?” If ever I find that it came out of my mind, I will be the first one to correct it. The reason is that I must bring forth Christ in His people. I cannot fail God. I cannot say things that are in my own mind. I cannot behave as I would love to sometimes. But God wants the Word to come straight to you and so that is what I must do.

(Excerpt from Keeping in Touch, December 2006, pg. 9)

Thought for today: The revelation of the Spirit of the Word comes from God through the apostolic ministry to the brethren. Then you take it and begin to function under the apostolic ministry as parts of this ministry!

Scripture reading: Ephesians 4:9-16

Let me ask you a question: Why is the ministry given to the church at this time? Ephesians 4:12 explains the reason, “For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ.” Do you think that it means that the ministry is going to be completed; come to its completion, its end? That the prophets will cease? That the apostles will cease? Or that the apostle will become the Body, the prophet will become the Body, the evangelist will become the Body? God has set some temporary caretakers to help the Body to come into Christ. I Corinthians 13:10, “But when that which is perfect is come, then that which is in part shall be done away.” For the prophet can only prophesy a part, and the evangelist can only evangelize a part, and the apostles can only apostle in part, but Christ is the fullness! Hallelujah! So therefore, that Christ may dwell in you (Ephesians 3:17). There will be in you the fullness of Christ so that the Body becomes Christ. Glory to God!

The scriptures speak of the manchild (see Revelation 12). Do we know what the manchild is? You see, God uses all these little analogies and phrases. A woman in Revelation 12 is pregnant, which means that the church is impregnated with something, the manchild. The manchild church is a church that has Jesus Christ as its head, when Jesus is completely placed on His throne in our hearts. He becomes the Head of the church, and we don’t do anything anymore. No man will be there – man will be gone. Then things will go like this:

John walks down the street, and everybody says, “Hi, John,” and, “Didn’t we know his father and mother? Didn’t he grow up among us? Isn’t he a realtor? Didn’t we know him?” John laughs because they don’t know him. Do you remember what happened to Jesus? They said, “Is not this the carpenter’s son?” (Matthew 13:55). “We know him. He built the chair for Miss Jane over there, and he built a table over there for so and so. We have the table, so we have proof that this man is a carpenter.” They didn’t know Him. So when Christ takes over, man is displaced.

There are people saying that we are claiming to be the manifested sons – NONSENSE! I wish I were. We are not manifested sons, but we believe in it. One day, not far away. It will be any day that you see the world come to the brink of destruction. Then you say, “Jesus, I am ready.” It is because Jesus must activate the church to save the world. God’s world is in danger of being destroyed by the devil, but God will not allow the devil to destroy it. So at least we have that knowledge. We will be activated just in the nick of time, just when midnight is getting so dark that no morning would be there; otherwise, it would have destroyed the whole world. At that time God will bring forth His saints.

He said that the first thing that they will do is stop the war. Hallelujah! Stop the war! Proclaim the Sabbath! No man shall kill any more. Stop it! If any man raises his hand, he will be done. Amen. God said the manchild will rule with a rod of iron (Revelation 12:5); will shepherd the people with a shepherd’s staff of iron. We can’t do it now. We don’t have Christ as our Head as He should be. The fullness is not there. But let us begin to press God. Press God! Do you know why? God will never make you perfect without making me perfect. The brothers in the early church were saying that they were perfect, and Paul responded, “Well, very well. I wish to God it were so, for I would have profited myself.” He is not going to make one person perfect and then you become another Christ, and everybody starts worshipping you. What He is going to do is to perfect all of us together. So there will be a company of people who understand what is going on, and our duty is to save the world, to save humanity.

(Excerpt from Keeping in Touch, December 2006, pg. 8-9)

Thought for today: When midnight gets so dark that there is no more hope for the morning, God will activate His people to save the world.

Scripture reading: Revelation 21:13

Revelation 21:13 says, “On the east three gates; on the north three gates; on the south three gates; and on the west three gates.”

Whenever we see this kind of repetition in Scripture, it is emphasis; there is something here to understand. First of all, “three” is the number of divine order: Father, Son, Holy Ghost and spirit, soul, body. “Three” is telling us that the “three gates” “on the east” are the perfect order of God to bring the sunrise, the glory of God, into the city. The “three gates” “on the east,” therefore, are those whom God has used to bring in the glory of God into the church.

The “three gates” “on the north” are representative of the ones who come in through tribulation. In the Song of Solomon 4:16, we find a verse which says, “Awake, O north wind; and come, thou south; blow upon my garden, that the spices thereof may flow out. Let my beloved come into his garden, and eat his pleasant fruits. The north wind blows through “the north…gates” because the “north wind” is going south. Actually, we are talking about those who enter the gate from the north side, those who are coming out of the cold, those who have come through tribulation and have entered through these gates. They are the people of “the north…gates.”

“Three gates” “on the south” are for those who have transgressed, have fallen away from God, have turned back and found their way into the city.

“Three gates” “on the west” speaks of the setting of the sun, those who must come in at evening time, those who have come in late, but they yet have received their place in the “city…Jerusalem.” God has honored them with providing “three gates” to “the west.”

(Excerpt from The Book of Revelation, Volume 3, pages 130-131)

Thought for today: Let us strive to be a part of the three eastern gates: those whom God has used to bring in the glory of God into the church.

Scripture reading: Revelation 21:10-12

Revelation 21:12 describes Jerusalem. “And had a wall great and high, and had twelve gates, and at the gates twelve angels, and names written thereon, which are the names of the twelve tribes of the children of Israel.”

This is a spiritual “wall,” and these are spiritual “gates” and “angels” (messengers). “A wall” is made to keep out intruders and to keep in those who are in; it is used as security. When the Lord speaks of “a wall” in the spiritual sense, He is talking about something that prevents intruders. Those who are not belonging cannot come in without proper entrance through the gate.

In the Song of Solomon we see a reference to “wall” in verse 9 of chapter 2. “My beloved is like a roe or a young hart: behold, he standeth behind our wall, he looketh forth at the windows, shewing himself through the lattice.” “Our wall” is the barrier that we construct in our lives between us and the Lord (the wrong things that make a barrier to prevent God from coming in). Our “Beloved” is the Lord Jesus. We see Him coming and standing “behind our wall,” and “look(ing) forth at the windows” and “shewing himself through the lattice.” In other words, He is trying to make communication with us even in spite of our barriers. Think of the barrier now between the world, the outsiders, and the people of the Lord. It is all spiritual. There is a spiritual fence, a spiritual wall (solid, unable to be breached by those from without) which God has put around the sons of God, around the spiritual city of Jerusalem, the bride, to protect her from the invasion of the outside world.

This “wall” has “twelve gates.” This city has “twelve gates.” A gate is a way, an entrance in. Jesus Christ said, “I am the way,” THE GREAT WAY; and because Jesus is “the way,” all of us who follow Him and walk in His path become a way for someone to come to Jesus. Jesus is “the way” into the Father. We are the different ways into Christ. Someone finds Christ because we led him/her to Christ. We become a way, a gate, a door. In the same way, God is speaking of the 12 tribes of Israel. We are talking about spiritual Israel finding “the way” into the city through the 12 different gates. The 12 apostles, representatives of the 12 gates, and the work of the apostles become a foundation through which and upon which we have built our spiritual life. They have become a permanent way to the city of God, to the New Jerusalem. They are the 12 doors, the 12 gates.

(Excerpt from The Book of Revelation, Volume 3, pages 129-130)

Thought for today: Because Jesus is “the way,” all of us who follow Him and walk in His path become a way for someone to come to Jesus.

Scripture reading: Colossians 2:9-12

I have heard God speaking in our congregation in our songs, and in prophetic words. We thank God that there is prophesy in the Body of Christ in the midst of us; that God is speaking through the Body in prophesy. You see, God created a prophetic ministry so that the prophesy would be given to the Body. I don’t know if you understand it. The minister ministers to the Body and then the Body ministers. The end result of the ministry is for the Body to minister. The prophetic ministry will be abolished one day. The apostolic ministry will be abolished. All of the other ministries will also be abolished. But guess what we will be? When God abolishes the ministry, the WHOLE BODY will become the ministry, and then you will turn around and minister to the world. This is what God is training you for – to minister to the whole world; to bring the world alive! Because death will not triumph over God’s creation; God’s creation must triumph over death! So that there is no way that Satan is going to have anything near a victory, and we are the people who God is training to use. Now when I say, “We are the people”, please believe me, that WE ARE THE PEOPLE! I didn’t mean us, I mean WE.

In other words, God is creating a people to finish the job that Peter, Paul, James, John, and the apostles began. He is using a people to finish it. When God made Adam, He knew all the trouble that was going to come. He knew all of the destruction, but He looked at Adam and He said, “It is good.” (Genesis 1:31). It was a prophetic Word. God said that ‘it was good’, when it wasn’t good, but He saw things that are not as if they were. God saw that we would come forth and be victorious. So when we sing our songs about Zion, I wonder if we know what we are singing. We are singing about Zion, the very heights of God’s creation, that God is creating within you. You sing, “Create in me a clean heart, and renew a right spirit within me.” (Psalm 51:10).

God has not only given us the prophetic ministry, but He has also given us prophets. Prophets are people whose duty it is to prophesy. They have a job, and their job is to prophesy. But then the daughters of Philip prophesied, yet they were not prophets. But there was a prophet named Agabus. (Acts 21:9-10) So God is creating a prophetic nation, a prophetic body. He is creating an apostolic Body. You don’t have to worry about trying to be an apostle now. It is not your time. Your time will soon come when all the ministry of God will be incorporated in the Body, when God incorporates the Body with the fullness of Himself. The Scripture says that Jesus Christ was the “Godhead bodily” incorporated (Colossians 2:9); a walking, talking, God-man. He was the prototype of what God is making us to be.

You have to understand that I am not perfect, BUT I have a Spirit that is perfect. If I can only keep my ears and my heart to follow that Spirit, I will deceive you that I am perfect. I will act like I am perfect and some of you actually believe it. But it’s not true! NEVERTHELESS, I have a perfect Spirit and that is what you are seeing. Do you understand that I am talking about you? The same pertains to you!

(Excerpt from Breaking Through the Veil, a message given in July 2006 in Illinois)

Thought for today: God is training you to minister to the whole world, to bring the world alive.
