When hell comes and devils open up their battery on you believing it should kill you, but you get up and live, THIS IS REJOICING. This is GLORY. This teaches them a lesson. It is exactly what the Bible says in Ephesians 3:10, “To the intent that now unto the principalities (that means to the princes and the areas they rule over) and powers in heavenly places might be known by the church the manifold wisdom of God.” The “wisdom of God” is being taught by the church to the spirits on both sides, those in heaven as well as those in hell.
Hebrews 2:15 tell us that man through the fear of death remains in bondage all his life. Then we look in Job 2:4, “And Satan answered the LORD, and said, Skin for skin, yea, all that a man hath will he give for his life.” Satan is expecting us to be selfish and afraid when our lives are being threatened. But, when you turn to Revelation, the Lord says that the people who are coming in His likeness will not count their lives. If you are not afraid to die, the devil has a problem, because he has no power over you. Let me say it again: If you are not afraid to die, the devil has no power over you! He wants to get you afraid, so that you will do things he wants you to do. Nevertheless, he may, for example, hold you with a gun and command you, “If you don’t do so-and-so, I will kill you!” and you can confidently answer, “Even if you kill me, I still won’t do it.” And that is the truth for it is God who holds your life and not the man with the gun. Let me tell you a gun story.
There are a lot of gun problems in Jamaica. At one point in time my son had a very good friend, who was a minister of the gospel. One day this minister and his wife were at home. Gunmen kicked down the door of their house and came in upon them. The husband was in the living room and they rushed in on him with a sawed-off shotgun. They said, “We have come to shoot you!” The wife heard the commotion, rushed out of the kitchen and saw this man holding her husband with the shotgun. She said to him, “Get out of here, all of you! What are you doing holding my husband? Get out of my house!” The man turned the shotgun on her and gave her both barrels. Right in her chest! She fell to the ground. To the amazement of the man as well as everyone else present, she got up, looked him in the face and said, “Get out!” The man screamed, dropped the gun, lost his mind, and ran through the door. The husband was so frightened! He thought she was dead! He grabbed her, threw her in the car and rushed her off to the hospital. She tried to explain to him that she was all right, but he did not hear. When the doctor examined her, he asked them, “What did you come here for?” The husband told him what happened. The doctor said, “Well, she doesn’t even have a scratch.” There were just many little red spots all over her body, but no harm done at all. God Almighty protected her!
You should not be afraid of guns. You should not be afraid of man. You have to have the confidence that God holds our life. No man takes your life from you until God says, “Yes, it is his/her time.” So, brethren, let us not be afraid of what Satan can do to us. Let us not be afraid of death. But, instead, let us trust God for our lives and give Him a chance to teach the principalities in hell and in heaven “the manifold wisdom” and power of the Almighty God.
