Scripture reading: Revelation 15:2

The word “Image” as mentioned in Revelation 15:2 has to be explained so that we can understand what the passage really means to us today: God created man in His IMAGE to look like Him – intellect, love, will, etc. He gave us free will so that we could become like Him (in His likeness). When man fell, he became like Satan, the beast that was wounded by a sword. The wound of the sword of Calvary was fatal and deadly and he could not have survived but for the fact that the church gave him life which was given to them, even as Adam did in his fall.

The image has three parts to it: (1) The image in our minds, (2) The image in the world, and (3) The image of a man to be yet manifested. I will explain simply: The picture of Jesus Christ which most of us have hanging on our walls is, for the most part, the image of the antichrist (Ninus). This was conjured up long ago in ancient Babylon and handed down to us via the Roman and Eastern churches. For this cause God told us in the word not to make any graven image of God. Again he told us that when he appears, we shall be changed to be like Him, therefore we should not believe if any one tells us that “here is Christ, or there.” In spite of the word which is clear and simple, there are those who are looking for Christ to appear before us one day. When the antichrist manifests in person therefore, he will not have much trouble with convincing Christians, if he had a miraculous appearance in the form which they already conceive in their minds. For the Buddhists he would appear as Buddha; for Islam as Muhammad; for the Africans as some god like the Maami spirit (mermaid), for India some Guru or Kamaswari or other popular one of their millions of gods.

In the light of what modern technology can do I would not be surprised is Satan is not planning to project some three dimensional laser figure to convince the religionists of an image that will speak and punish unbelievers.

We must remember: The victory over the image is in the heart of the believer.

(Excerpt from The Omega Message, May 1986)

Thought for today: Let us gain the victory over the image of the beast so that we would be true overcomers.

Scripture reading: Revelation 15:2

Revelation 15:2, “And I saw as it were a sea of glass mingled with fire: and them that had gotten the VICTORY over the beast, and over his image, and over his mark, and over the number of his name, stand on the sea of glass, having the harps of God.

As we can see in Revelation 15:2, those who had gotten the victory over the four areas of satanic influence were seen standing on the “sea of glass having the harps of God.” This means that by their victory over the most powerful weapons of Satan, they had earned for themselves a place in that realm of transparency where nothing is hid, a city of pure golden glass.

Let us look at the first of the four areas of overcoming mentioned above – victory over the beast:

God made man spirit, soul, and body. The spirit in man was devised of God to lead man back to God. The spirit of man therefore is the connecting link between God and man, and the main difference between man and beast. When man began to depart from God the divine order was broken, and in some cases man became body, soul, and spirit. This happens when man is basically led by his feelings and the natural world around him. Instead of the body and the soul being the servant of the spirit, the spirit is entirely excluded and an evil spirit takes the place so that the man does not reason or think human any more, but diabolical. Of this order of persons are some of the scientists of our time and men who worship the intellect and other things rather than God.

I was once invited to a school to speak to the science class where there presided a teacher who invited ministers to his class to prove how stupid they were to believe God. Upon his first sortie he was knocked cold by the scientific evidence of the existence of God. Science wants proof, and since the Ford car by which we traveled to the school was conclusive proof of a Ford factory somewhere, then his very presence there was conclusive and scientific proof of a higher Being Who made such magnificent symmetry.

The soul of FALLEN MAN with its Mind (intellect), Emotion, Will, and Desire is a beast – or, to be exact, four beasts in one. He who is led by his mind is led by a beastlike fallen nature and cannot please God.

In national and world affairs you will notice the flawed reason of those who do not believe in God. In reasoning with them one gets the feeling of speaking to a demon that has no specific basis of right and wrong.

One who has the victory over the beast therefore, is (a) One who first conquers the beast nature within himself, (b) One who does not submit to the beast nature of the world, and (c) One who does not submit to the beast nature of Satan, the adversary and tempter. One who has the victory over that beast nature cannot divorce his wife and marry another because she disagrees with him, and because others are doing it and it is legal. Many of the preachers are setting this example, but regardless of how many miracles they are having and regardless of their financial success, and regardless of how many millions of people are following them, they are not overcomers of the nature of the beast.

This beast nature will be personified one day in a mighty world leader and all those who have not overcome the beast will submit to him and to Satan.

Scripture reading: John 9:1-7

One night the Lord came to me and began to teach me a lesson, which went through the whole night. He was talking about our ability to see, about our vision. He showed me that something is wrong with our vision. The Holy Spirit gives us vision and lets us see, but different things in our lives interrupt the sight and the vision so that we see half-way or wrong in some way. God is saying to us that we need to repair our vision.

The Lord began to show me certain things. When Jesus met the blind man, He spat on the ground, mixed it and put it on the blind man’s eyes. Very unusual. It was as if God used the way He had created Adam to recreate eyes in the man. You know we have a little song that we sing – Create in me a clean heart, O God and renew a right spirit within me. Somehow or the other, I can see God saying to us that some of us have such damage to our eyes that we are totally blind and need a new creation. We need to allow God to create new eyes in us. Hallelujah. Jesus said yet to another blind man, “Receive thy sight,” and he received his sight.

Then there was Samson who got himself involved with the harlot. He was so blind to the fact that she wanted to kill him and was kind of assisting her. It went on and on until she finally got him to tell her the secret that if his hair was cut he would lose his strength. Now, you would ask the question, “Why would he tell her that?” Let us look at the story. Samson had a problem with women and it disturbed his ability to see God. Judges 16:4, “And it came to pass afterward, that he loved a woman in the valley of Sorek, whose name was Delilah.”

I want you to understand, your Bible is a very peculiar book. When you see that it mentions that the woman lived in a valley, immediately something should rise in you as you read your Bible. “He went to a woman in the valley of Sorek.” The moment you see that it said that it was in a valley, you know that the man was going down, stepping down from the standard of righteousness which God had given him, which God has created that man should live in. In other words, every man must have a certain amount of control over his own body.

Now, what made Samson always go after harlots? Did you notice it? This was not the first one. Every one he went after was a harlot. He had a problem. I am saying that this problem exists in the church, in the Body.

We know that the Outer Court will soon be trampled under foot. This means everything carnal, everything natural will be under judgment. Now, if I am a spiritual man but am carnal, I am under judgment. I might believe I am in the Holy Place because the Holy Spirit is in me. NO! The Holy Spirit can be in me and I am not in the Spirit. You can have the Holy Spirit and not be in the Holy Spirit.

The five foolish virgins had everything as far as equipment was concerned that the five wise had, and one little detail that was major. The detail is to have the God that is in the universe, the God that built the universe, the God that you have in your spirit, to have Him in your soul. This is the same God that speaks in tongues, that delivers His Word, and that manifests Himself to us as we sing.

The man Samson had a problem and the problem was one that would make a person be in the Outer Court, though your place is in the Holiest of All. God gives us the ability to be in the Holiest of All with Christ Jesus Himself and we choose to be in the Outer Court because of our carnal appetite! Brethren, do you know why God leaves your carnal appetite with you? God could take it away and kill it and just leave you happy and free. But He left your carnal appetite with you to give you an opportunity to kill it, to control it, to exercise the power of life over the power of death, the power of the love of God over the power of the love of the world. Do you hear me? He leaves you free to exercise the power that God has given you over the carnal realm. We know He said to Adam, “Take charge of the carnal realm. This is your duty, this is your power, and this is your privilege. You take charge of the carnal realm.” Did you hear the word that He used? Dominion! God didn’t say that we should have dominion one over another. You must not dominate another human being. God said to Adam, “Dominate nature! Dominate the world.” Glory to God. “Dominate the circumstances!”

(Excerpt from Keeping in Touch, May 2009, pg. 24-25)

Scripture reading: Ephesians 5:21-33

Brethren, this is the time when the devil is breaking up homes. I have never seen so many Christian homes being bombarded and broken. It is being broken up for nothing at all. Do you know what I mean? Somebody might say, “Well, we had a big problem.” But very often it is little nothing. She moved a chair and the brother didn’t want the chair moved. He talked about it, it brought something else and piled up and piled up and the devil piled up a long thing against you.

One night my wife, Mavis, and I were lying down in bed and the devil jumped right in between us. She got right up and rebuked him. She said. “Get out of here; we don’t want you!”

Why? Because everybody must be tested. I hope you don’t believe that there is one man or one woman that is not going to go through that test. You are going to have to go through the test and you are going to have to pass the test. I believe that the association between brother and sister is the nearest thing to Jesus Christ and His church. Anytime you overcome, you are going to win. Anytime you overcome that feeling of animosity against your partner – you are able to rise up and win.

“I am not going to have any feelings against him.”
“I am not going to have any feelings against her.”

Sometimes men are involved in the world doing their business and they forget their wives. They are just working so hard that they forget their wives. Or, they think, “She is put up aside there and when I am ready I am just going to turn on to her, but for now I am turned off and I am doing this and that and the other.”

You see, when I am working outside and I feel that I have been out there so long and my mind is cut off from my wife, when I don’t know what she is doing inside, sometimes I just rush right in. Maybe the devil is in there tempting her in some way. So I rush right in there, hug her, kiss her and say, “I’m going back to work.” Oh, yes! Over the years you learn how to beat the devil and if a wrong thought comes to you, brother, it comes to your wife too. Don’t believe it is going to come to you and not to your wife.

I remember one time I had a congregation and I could know exactly what the devil was saying, because he would come to me with it first. When I would go to church and preach the message on what the devil was saying, the brethren were shocked.

“How did you know that that is what happened to me?”

Oh, you had better believe it that the same thing that happens to the shepherd, happens to the sheep.

Scripture reading: Psalm 8

There is one thing that comes to me and that is the words Jehovah, Lord God Almighty. These are the most powerful words in all of our vocabulary and, I assure you, we will not understand it today or forever. There is a scripture where the Lord said to Moses, “You have not known Me by this name before” and He told Moses the name Jehovah (Exodus 6:3). We translate it badly as Jehovah, Yah Vah Che Vah. The Yah at the beginning means God in Hebrew. The rest of the phrase or word gives us the feeling of Almighty.

I just pray and wish that we could understand within ourselves what Almighty is. You think of someone who could make the moon, the stars, the sun and the earth, anchor them upon nothing and have them moving around like a big clock keeping time, without ever missing a second. We understand that they have been going now for over 6,000 years and we don’t even understand very much what 1,000 years means. But this God, He built this universe and did all these things and you ask yourself the question:

“Why did He do it? What is His intention? He must have some reason, don’t you think?”

I mean if I build a chair, I have a reason. I want to sit down. This God built all these things here and some of us take it for granted as though it were nothing. But that is the front of the Book. Let us go to the back of the Book. If we do so, we find out that what God wants is a temple to dwell in not made by hands. God wanted a temple to dwell in so He took up a handful of dirt and made a man. After He made that man, you would think that He would put a protection around that man so that nothing could touch him. But He did the opposite to that; He let him loose where the devil could get him. God’s reason is that if you cannot overcome the evil, you have no use for good. So in order to make man good, God let loose evil upon him.

Have you ever thought of why we have so much trouble as Christians? Next time we sing, let us start to praise God for the trouble that we have, for that is the only way that God is going to get sons of God. He has let us loose in a world that is very close to hell. Every circumstance seems to be designed to test us to the core, so therefore He sent Jesus, His only begotten Son (that is what we call Him).

It is like a man who marries a woman and they have a child from the seed of the man. So it is that God brought forth a Son out of His own being. This Son is a Pattern of what He is going to make us to be. Have you ever thought of it, that soon you will be walking this earth like Jesus Christ Himself? But you ask yourself the question: “How can that happen from such a wretched existence?”

When I bow before God, I feel like a piece of earth. I feel dirty. I see my sins and weaknesses. I say to myself, “How could God make a son of God out of this?” Yet, this is God’s plan and God’s plan is about to come to pass.

(Excerpt from The Omega Message, July 2011, pg. 5-6)

Thought for today: If you cannot overcome the evil, you have no use for good.
