Scripture reading: John 3:3-8, Matthew 3:11

Have you ever thought of what baptism really is? Baptism is a covenant that the believer makes with God. It is permanent. It is a death, a burial, and a resurrection. The thing that dies is not the thing that rises. The thing that rises is a Christ thing. The man’s heart, his mind, his soul, and his behavior must change radically. It is not “Oh, I got changed yesterday.” No sir, it is a continuous change, a gradual change. The ugly caterpillar goes into a chrysalis and changes, changes, changes, until he undergoes his metamorphosis and becomes a beautiful butterfly. Until that day, the change is yet continuing, or should continue.

However, this change is arrested, retarded, or stopped by some of the church doctrines that we have. The believer is no longer functioning under God, for he has not made CHRIST HIS LORD. Jesus is my Saviour, oh yes. I did not have to do anything. All I needed to be saved by Jesus was to be a sinner which I did not do; I was born that way. Born a sinner, Jesus saves you, and now you must turn around and make a covenant with Him that you will follow Him all the way. That is baptism. Outside of this, there is no baptism. You could be wet with water until you continuously drip. You will not be baptized unless that consciousness has come to you.

Some of you have been baptized and feel if you go down in the name of Jesus (someone said “Jesus” over you) and come up again, you are made perfect. You are mistaken. Those of you who believe that you are baptized to become a member of a church and get the right hand of fellowship when you are baptized, YOU ARE NOT BAPTIZED. You must make the covenant with God and then go down in the water. That is baptism and you must know what you are doing. Baptism has the following three steps: Water, Holy Spirit, and Christ. Man baptizes you in water, Jesus baptizes you in the Holy Spirit, and the Holy Spirit baptizes you into Christ. That brings you into the holy place.

There is the outer court, the holy place, and then you are still going on further. You are going into the holy of holies where the overshadowing of God will deliver you from all harm. Psalm 91:1 says, “He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.” You will go into the ark of the covenant, where you become a permanent part of God.

Thought for today: Baptism is a covenant that requires continual change until our metamorphosis is complete and we are fully changed into the image and likeness of God.

Scripture reading: Matthew 28:18

Have you ever wondered why it is that even though “all power is given unto me (you) in heaven and on earth” (Matthew 28:18), we are suffering so much? Why do we have our houses being broken up? Why are we being smashed to pieces? It is because God is ALLOWING it! Now, why would my God allow that? You see, God has given you a weapon, but if you do not use it, you are going to die.

I remember David moaning for Abner (2 Samuel 3:33). He said, “Abner, oh Abner is a fool!” He said, “He died with his weapon in his sheath. He allowed the man to take him and kiss him, plunge his sword into him and kill him when he had his sword in his sheath.” David would have been pleased if he had died fighting instead. This is the situation with the church!

Brethren! Psalm 91:1 says, “He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.” “…shall!” Amen! There is NO excuse for failure! NO excuse! The first thing that happens to you, when something begins to happen to your life, is that the devil starts telling you, “Oh, it is natural. It is natural.” IT IS NOT NATURAL! Sister, it is not natural for your husband to be taken away from you. Do not believe anything else but that God gave you that man! Do not believe that it is God’s will for him to be away from his children. You have to believe the truth! Hallelujah! Begin to command it! You have a blood covenant with him! Yes! You have a blood covenant with him, but many times we do not exercise our blood covenant because we are afraid that God might kill him. Isn’t that true? Many times we are afraid that he might die if God goes to arrest him, but that man is part of your blood and your body and you must command God to release him! But you see, because he might be held by a prince, it is necessary for you to rise up to the place where the power of the prince is, before you can overcome him. Amen.

The church could do it. Now, what do I mean by that? I mean that God has given us power. I remember my brother, Frank. He was a wild, wild, fun loving fellow! Oh, he would be just going! When I would see the man, it would just grieve my soul. Do you know what I said? I put my life on the line and I said to God, “If that boy does not come to Jesus Christ, kill me! My life is not worth living if Your Word is not true to me! Kill me!”

Now, you cannot fool with God. You cannot say that if you do not mean it, and you cannot mean it unless you have the spiritual energy. There is one level of energy down here, and there is another level up there. If a prince up there holds your family, you have to get up there also to knock him out. YOU CANNOT STAY DOWN HERE AND WIN UP THERE! Don’t you understand? The frequency on which he operates is up there; the powers that bind your person or your family are on a higher level. If you stay down here, the spirit does not even hear you. You rebuke him, but he does not hear you. Amen!

So you have the power! Remember, “All POWER is given unto me (you) in heaven and in earth” (Matthew 28:18).

(Excerpt from The Omega Message, December 2003, pg. 48-49)

Thought for today: Let us stop fighting in the natural, but let us start using our spiritual weapons and set the captives free.

Scripture reading: Psalm 91

We remember when the atom bomb was first used. It took a man with the type of strength of character and the type of mind to do it. He knew fully well what it meant. It has been proven that every weapon used in any war in history is used again against the very people who used it first. Check into history. I believe it was the British that first invented the war tank and it came to pass that that very tank was used by Hitler so effectively against the Allied forces.

The people of the United States of America were the first who used the atom bomb. They used it against Japan and whatever the arguments might be and whatever the circumstances might be, THE BOTTOM LINE IS that this weapon was used against a civilian target, used in an open city, killing in a flash of lightning 80,000 people and maiming many more. People like me look with horror upon what was done. (Although I understand that it saved many American lives and ended the war with Japan, and only under those circumstances would Japan ever think of surrendering.) This is what is going to happen to us.

That same weapon is going to come back full circle right into the heart of cities like New York and Chicago and all the big cities (populous places) in the United States. THIS IS NOT A GUESS. This is what we see in the Spirit and this is what is coming. One day that burning mountain is going to be cast into the middle of the sea and many, many will die. Of course, you know what will happen when that is done. America will retaliate and make it a conflagration as never before seen in the history of humanity and I am sure will never happen again. This is going to happen. This is the type of thing we are reading about in Revelation, when the angel cast this thing out into the sea of humanity and it is going to do its work of destruction, no matter what we do.

The people who are the real culprits have the bomb and are waiting for the hour and the time when God will release them to use it. It takes a certain type of human being to make up his mind to use a destructive weapon of this magnitude. I believe that the Arab people, with the bitterness they have against the rest of the western world, might one day too have the power to use this weapon against places like the United States, Israel, and Europe.

Revelation 8:9, “And the third part of the creatures which were in the sea, and had life, died; and the third part of the ships were destroyed.”

“The THIRD PART” can mean man in a spiritual sense, the third part of man who is spirit, soul, and body. It means that their flesh died. It does not mean necessarily that they had gone to hell, but their flesh died. “The third part…died.” “And the third part of the ships” are those that traffic upon human life. There are some who make their living by trafficking back and forth upon humanity. They “were destroyed.” Organizations that do business back and forth would be destroyed. Nevertheless, “He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.”

Scripture reading: Exodus 12:21-30

Jesus said, “…and greater works than these shall he [he that believeth on me] do also; because I go unto my Father” (John 14:12). What Jesus meant is that we have not seen anything yet. The magnitude will be great, because it will be millions of us moving in the “fullness of Christ” (Ref. Ephesians 4:13), and He says He will give us the fullness at midnight. You will remember what happened at midnight in Egypt. God opened up the gates of hell and the devils of murder were let loose; they were hungry for blood. The devils were given the order to kill every firstborn in Egypt, but God instructed Moses to kill the lamb, and put the blood on the doorposts and lintels throughout all the land of Goshen (Ref. Exodus 12:22). “Stand with your loins girded, ready to go, eating the lamb at midnight.” The demons and devils rushed towards the land of Goshen, but the first house they approached, the Shekinah Glory of God was shining over the doorposts and lintel, and none could enter the houses where the blood was placed.

Have you ever heard of a demon that was canceled? Once in my sleep, I saw a woman coming from the door, full of wrath, saying, “You are the one that killed me. I am going to get you.” I rebuked her and said, “Bind her forever, Lord, and do not let her touch another Christian.” Soon after, I got a call from someone asking if I had seen her (in the spirit). I said, “Yes, she is in hell.”

Do you know that the “lintel” is your mind? Your forehead blazes fire when you rebuke a devil. He is burnt by the blaze of God’s glory from your forehead. His power is canceled by the firepower from the Spirit of God within us. The devils could not face the land of Goshen, but they turned their wrath upon the unbelievers. The “doorposts” are your hands. Keep your doorposts working for God. There were some sinners who were saved that night, because they believed and hid in the houses of the Israelites. The message was given out a long time before, and those who believed could have found refuge. Some were running in at five minutes to midnight, but they were saved because they believed.

So, let us not fear the things that are coming to pass in the earth, but let us rejoice. If you dwell “in the secret place of the Most High God,” they will not come “nigh thy dwelling” (Ref. Psalm 91). They will not touch the secret place of the Most High God.

Thought for today: Let us cover our mind and hands with the Blood of Jesus so that we may dwell under the shadow of the Almighty.

Scripture reading: Psalm 91

Psalm 91:1-2, “He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High (between the cherubim on the Mercy Seat) shall abide (remain stable and fixed) under the shadow of the Almighty. 2 I will say of the Lord, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I (confidently) trust!”

Verse 4, “He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings (symbolic for power) shalt thou trust: His truth shall be thy shield and buckler (weapons of defense).”

Verse 11, “For he shall give his angels (special) charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways.”

As the children of Israel journeyed from Rameses in Egypt to the promised Canaan land, God provided every form of care and deliverance possible so that they might survive what would be an impossible journey for women and children, old men and cattle, in a parched and dry wilderness void of sustenance for a few people, let alone hundreds of thousands or perhaps millions.

There are scriptures which give us an idea of the vastness of the miracle of provision which brought them out and carried them in, for example Exodus 19:4, “Ye have seen what I did unto the Egyptians, and how I bare you on eagles’ wings, and brought you unto myself.” The symbolic term “eagles’ wings” means wings of power. This is borne out by the circumstances which prevailed in the wilderness.

When we look at Exodus 13:21, Nehemiah 9:21, Exodus 16:4, and Exodus 17:6 we can see that the children of Israel were provided shelter from the blazing sun and high protein food to keep them strong and vigorous. Shoes and clothing were provided by God supernaturally and there was never any people mothered and cared for by a loving God ever in the history of humanity to that time.

God is a provider. There is provision in Him to cover all our weaknesses and to heal all our diseases.

Some who read these lines may be in grave physical danger as war and revolution sweep the earth; but remember, David faced danger every day of his life and the Holy Spirit spoke through him more than any recorded writer of the deliverance of God from the enemy.

Psalm 23:1-5, “The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want: 2 He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: He leadeth me beside the still waters. 3 He restoreth my soul: He leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for His name’s sake. 4 Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me. 5 Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of my enemies: Thou anointest my head with oil; My cup runneth over.”

This and more represents the response of overshadowing which God gives to the church as she moves in the Spirit. The embroidery covering (shown in the Tabernacle of Moses in Exodus 26) is symbolic of all this.

Thought for today: The Almighty God, Creator of the entire Universe, the God that made you and I is telling us that He is here. God’s Word says He will never leave us or forsake us. Our choice is not to forsake God! Let the Great Provider lead your footsteps today and rest in His peace that passeth all understanding.
