Scripture reading: Matthew 24:21-27

Do you know that God’s plan is about to come to pass? Do you know what that means? That means that the worst is yet to come. If you believe that you have been tried and tested, if you have lived long to have some good sweet time, you are making a mistake. God is about to loose hell upon us as never was since God made man. Does that sound like good preaching? Please turn to Matthew 24 and read verses 21-27.

First of all, we read in Matthew 24 that there is going to be trouble such as never was since God made man until now, meaning to say that the holocaust will have been child’s play. All that Hitler, Stalin, the Catholic Church, and all the great killers did cannot be compared to what is about to happen presently.

You know, for years we have been preaching about things that are to come and then we could say, “They are coming.” But now I want to tell you, “It has come.” In other words, the devil is ready to loose all hell upon earth and God is holding him back. Why? Why is God holding back Satan at this time? But for the elect’s sake, He said He would shorten the time. Sin has come to its fullness; payment is overdue; the bailiff is waiting at the door to collect and God says, “You will not until I have finished sealing My servants.”

Brethren, we are being sealed with the truth. Remember now that we are sealed by the truth of the Holy Spirit. So the Holy Spirit is enlightening our minds and our understanding at this time, that we might understand what is about to take place.

In Psalm 91:1 He says, “He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide (shall remain) under the shadow of the Almighty.” So that is what we are praying; we are praying that God would not only put His shadow over certain areas, but over all His people. It would not be the first time that God has done this. Can you imagine going through the desert with 3,000,000 people and thousands and thousands of cattle, sheep, and other animals? God held an umbrella of cloud over their heads. God was walking along with them. The slow ones, the little ones, He was walking along with them. If a little sheep were to stray out there in the desert, in half of an hour he would be dead. But instead a little cloud would detach itself and cover him. So when you lose your cattle, all you have to do is look up to see where the cloud is, and there is your cattle. I mean, it is amazing this God that we serve. He is so big and yet He is so small.

One time a brother was telling me about how his children lost their turtle. They prayed to God to tell them where the turtle was. Then, one of them made a drawing and when they finished the drawing, they saw that it showed exactly where the turtle was. They just followed the drawing in their yard to go to pick up the turtle. A big God does some little things. This is the Almighty God that we serve.

I am telling you this because this is what God told me to tell you. He will take care of you, He will protect you wherever you are. He will protect your little ones. Don’t be afraid. By faith begin to trust Him now for protection.

God Almighty

Scripture reading: Psalm 8

There is one thing that comes to me and that is the words Jehovah, Lord God Almighty. These are the most powerful words in all of our vocabulary and, I assure you, we will not understand it today or forever. There is a scripture where the Lord said to Moses, “You have not known Me by this name before” and He told Moses the name Jehovah (Exodus 6:3). We translate it badly as Jehovah, Yah Vah Che Vah. The Yah at the beginning means God in Hebrew. The rest of the phrase or word gives us the feeling of Almighty.

I just pray and wish that we could understand within ourselves what Almighty is. You think of someone who could make the moon, the stars, the sun and the earth, anchor them upon nothing and have them moving around like a big clock keeping time, without ever missing a second. We understand that they have been going now for over 6,000 years and we don’t even understand very much what 1,000 years means. But this God, He built this universe and did all these things and you ask yourself the question:

“Why did He do it? What is His intention? He must have some reason, don’t you think?”

I mean if I build a chair, I have a reason. I want to sit down. This God built all these things here and some of us take it for granted as though it were nothing. But that is the front of the Book. Let us go to the back of the Book. If we do so, we find out that what God wants is a temple to dwell in not made by hands. God wanted a temple to dwell in so He took up a handful of dirt and made a man. After He made that man, you would think that He would put a protection around that man so that nothing could touch him. But He did the opposite to that; He let him loose where the devil could get him. God’s reason is that if you cannot overcome the evil, you have no use for good. So in order to make man good, God let loose evil upon him.

Have you ever thought of why we have so much trouble as Christians? Next time we sing, let us start to praise God for the trouble that we have, for that is the only way that God is going to get sons of God. He has let us loose in a world that is very close to hell. Every circumstance seems to be designed to test us to the core, so therefore He sent Jesus, His only begotten Son (that is what we call Him).

It is like a man who marries a woman and they have a child from the seed of the man. So it is that God brought forth a Son out of His own being. This Son is a Pattern of what He is going to make us to be. Have you ever thought of it, that soon you will be walking this earth like Jesus Christ Himself? But you ask yourself the question: “How can that happen from such a wretched existence?”

When I bow before God, I feel like a piece of earth. I feel dirty. I see my sins and weaknesses. I say to myself, “How could God make a son of God out of this?” Yet, this is God’s plan and God’s plan is about to come to pass.

Scripture reading: Revelation 19:11-14

Let us go to Daniel’s prophecy in Daniel 12:1 and 2, “And at that time shall Michael stand up, the great prince which standeth for the children of thy people: and there shall be a time of trouble, such as never was since there was a nation even to that same time: and at that time thy people shall be delivered, every one that shall be found written in the book. And many of them that sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, some to everlasting life, and some to shame and everlasting contempt.” This prophecy tells us that there is going to be a resurrection, and this resurrected army will be with Jesus.

Daniel tells us of the end of the matter when the antichrist will be defeated and who it is that is going to reign and rule. There will be no doubt after we read this. Daniel 7:25-27, “And he shall speak great words against the most High, and shall wear out the saints of the most High, and think to change times and laws: and they shall be given into his hand until a time and times and the dividing of time. But the judgment shall sit, and they shall take away his dominion, to consume and to destroy it unto the end. And the kingdom and dominion, and the greatness of the kingdom under the whole heaven, shall be given to the people of the saints of the most High, whose kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, and all dominions shall serve and obey him.”

I want you to notice that he talks about “the people of the saints of the most High,” and then he talks about “him.” This “him” simply means that they will be one in Christ and Christ will be one in them. This will be a one-man company. It is as if you start a conversation with one saint and finish it up with another saint. They would be on the same wave length saying the same thing: one people, one mind.

At this time, “Christ in us” (the church) will not just be “the hope of glory,” but it will be “the glory.” The glory which Jesus Christ asked the Father for in the 17th chapter and the 5th verse of John’s gospel He gave to the church in verse 22. “And the glory which thou gavest me I have given THEM; that they may be one, even as we are one.” Now this is the glory come home to the church. This is what we are seeing in Revelation 19:14 – the church and Christ. Christ in the church functioning as God in the earth. The church in Christ – absolutely, permanently, completely absorbed, made one. Therefore, humanity will be put aside completely forever, and divinity (the gold alone) will show.

The earth will see “The Word of God” in human flesh walking to and fro. If this is not accomplished then Jesus’ death on the cross would not have accomplished fully what God had intended – that we should become like Him and that God should have other sons on earth that “should be like him.” Romans 8:29, “He (was) the firstborn among many brethren.” John 17:22, “And the glory which thou gavest me I have given them; that they may be one, even as we are one.Verse 21 shows the oneness and verse 22 shows the glory that will be the oneness.

Revelation 6 is a summary chapter. Verses 10 and 11, “And they cried with a loud voice, saying, How long, O Lord, holy and true, dost thou not judge and avenge our blood on them that dwell on the earth? And white robes were given unto every one of them; and it was said unto them, that they should rest yet for a little season, until their fellowservants also and their brethren, that should be killed as they were, should be fulfilled.” We see a special group of martyrs in the heavenlies (verse 10) and they are crying to the Lord asking when the judgment will be on the earth. “And white robes were given unto every one of them.”

In Revelation 19:14 we read that “the armies” were “upon white horses, clothed in fine linen, white and clean.” A white-robed throng is coming. What are they coming for? They are coming to judge and to rule the earth. The “white horses” and the “white robes” are related to judgment. The moment one student in a class gets the lesson and passes the exam, it is a judgment against all the other students who heard the teacher teach the lesson. Here we are. The judgment of the world is the “white robes” that the children of God receive who have attained excellence in God.

Thought for today: Let us press for the glory that we be part of the resurrected army of Christ.

Clothed in Righteousness

[Printable version]

Scripture reading: Revelation 3:17-18

In the Garden of Eden, Adam and Eve were righteous; they were sinless, therefore, they were clothed. We can safely assume that they were clothed in white linen. When they sinned, they “knew that they were naked.” Immediately, their righteousness went. So, in a spiritual sense, righteousness is indeed a clothing. When Jesus Christ rose from the dead, Mary Magdalene saw Him clothed even though His natural clothes were left in the tomb. Being clothed is a part of righteousness.

Matthew 17 tells us of the transfiguration of Jesus Christ. Verse 2, “And (He) was transfigured before them: and his face did shine as the sun, and his raiment was white as the light.” Matthew 13:42 and 43 speak of the righteous. “And shall cast them into a furnace of fire: there shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth. Then shall the righteous shine forth as the sun in the kingdom of their Father. Who hath ears to hear, let him hear.” God is saying that when we have attained righteousness, there will be a brightness, a shining forth, that comes from us. We could further assume that what is stopping the shining at the present time is the unrighteousness, or our flesh.

The angel in Matthew 28:3 had the same brightness in his countenance. “His countenance was like lightning, and his raiment white as snow.” Revelation 3:5 speaks of the designation of righteousness that is given to the overcomers. “He that OVERCOMETH, the same shall be CLOTHED IN WHITE RAIMENT; and I will not blot out his name out of the book of life, but I will confess his name before my Father, and before His angels.” As we compare scripture with scripture, we understand that the BRIDE of Christ are those who will be called the OVERCOMERS. They “shall be clothed in white raiment.”

In Revelation 3, the Spirit of God speaks to the Laodicean church (the period of time in which we are in now). Verse 17, Because thou sayest, I am rich, and increased with goods, and have need of nothing; and knowest not that thou art wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked.” This Word, then, is speaking directly to us. Verse 18, “I counsel thee to buy of me gold tried in the fire, that thou mayest be rich; and WHITE RAIMENT, that thou mayest be CLOTHED, and that the shame of thy nakedness do not appear; and anoint thine eyes with eyesalve, that thou mayest see.” “The church of the Laodiceans” is the church of the last age. We are the people of the last age. Therefore, the last batch of people who will be selected for the class of the bride are those of our time and our generation.
