Scripture reading: Daniel 12:8-9

The whole Bible, the gospel of the Lord Jesus, is closed up in seven sealed mysteries. Daniel was told that he should “seal up the book,” because it would not be explained until the time of the end. Now, Jesus Christ began to open the seals. [Revelation 6 starts to tell us about the opening of these seals and the effect they would have in the realm of the world.]

The first mystery is the MYSTERY OF SALVATION which Jesus Christ opened up to us. Why do I say it is a mystery? Because not everyone understands it. Even some of us who have received salvation do not understand how, when, and why it works, and what the purpose is.

When God opens up deliverance for man, He brings man to a higher dimension where Satan has the right to attack him in a higher and greater way. When Jesus Christ received the anointing at His baptism, immediately the devil took occasion. Now he had the right to attack Him in a most frontal attack with greater boldness than he had done before. Because of this principle, when the church was born, Satan received the right to do certain things. This is why, when the seal opens, and the Word of God is released, the enemy is also released. This is a DOUBLE MESSAGE, two messages in one – the message of the glory of God and also the message of what happens in the earth when this is done.

Salvation is by the Blood of Jesus Christ. Most people do not understand the Blood. In the Tabernacle of Moses, God revealed it through symbolism. The bull was brought in through the gate by six men. No man comes to God because he loves God, or because he is beautiful and just knows the right place to go is to God. No! We were all hauled in against our will. God set circumstances to bring us in and to bring mankind into salvation. I believe that is why Adam and Eve did not eat of the tree of life. There is something awesome and awful about THE TREE OF LIFE. When you eat the tree of life, you begin to lose your natural life and gain immortal life.

In the Tabernacle, the bull was carried to the place of death, the Brazen Altar. They would tie him down to the four horns of this brass altar. Then they would slay the bull and take the dung and the skin, wrap it together and take it outside the camp to be burned. The meat was washed and ready on the fire of the altar of sacrifice. All this is symbolism telling us what happens to a person in salvation. He is beginning a new life and losing his natural life, preparing to go into the high priest and become one with the high priest Jesus Christ. The high priest puts the meat on the fire where it is roasted and takes it with him into the Holy Place to eat at the Table of Shewbread.

Salvation is when mankind accepts the Blood of Jesus Christ as payment for his sin and receives in turn LIFE instead of the wages of sin, which is DEATH. It is also a beginning of a journey that leads him into his destination in the Holy of Holies.

Thought for today: Let us make sure of our salvation and continue with all diligence our journey into the Holy of Holies.

Scripture reading: Revelation 9:13-15

This picture in Revelation 9 brings us back to the Tabernacle of Moses. The golden Altar of Incense is situated before the veil in the Holy Place, and the High Priest burns the incense on this altar before he goes into the Holy of Holies on the Day of Atonement. This is the fifth station in the Tabernacle. The sixth angel would then be the angel of the Mercy Seat. When he blows his trumpet to call you from the fifth to the sixth, he is, in effect, saying the offering of your soul is accepted, and it is time to come into the veil and under the shadow of the Almighty for hiding and safety. The Scripture clearly states in Matthew 24:21 [concerning this time that is before us], that unless God protects us no flesh would be saved. The most modern example of this protection from God that I know of is the case of the sisters in Switzerland. The story is told, that when the radiation was released in the Chernobyl nuclear accident, all the sheep, cattle, and crops were contaminated, except theirs. They prayed and believed God, and the radiation did not affect them or their farm. (It is indeed peculiar, that the word “Chernobyl” in Russian means “wormwood” (Ref. Revelation 8:11)).

Revelation 9:14 is saying that God has a special hour of a special day, of a special month, of a special year. This means that God has one special day and a special hour when He is going to let go His restraining hand that binds the angels of death and destruction and let them loose in the earth.

I asked the Lord concerning this thing about the “Euphrates.” “Why Euphrates?” The answer He gave to me is that it is a key. Whenever you see God mention things like that, it is a key, and once you get the key, it is going to open a lot of understanding into many things. It is like the key word “Jerusalem,” meaning the many people of God who are temples of God making up a city of God; and like the key word “Babylon,” which means the many rebellious ones who are against God, and who join together to make up a land of rebellion against God.

The Lord said to me, “Open up the Bible map in the back of your Bible and look at the river Euphrates.” I began to write down the names of the different countries that are in and around the area through which the river Euphrates flows, and I found the list to be very interesting. It included all these hard-core Islamic nations: Iraq, Iran, Armenia in Russia, Syria, Turkey. It came to me that Islam and the spirits of violence which rule Islam have been bound, but they are going to be released and will bring destruction to the world.

Recently, they found a whole shipload of atomic weapons going to one of these Arab countries and arrested it. Now, that was the one they found. What about the many they did not? The Arab nations are arming themselves with atomic weapons. They hate Christianity and want to destroy the Christian world. They believe that Islam will rule the world someday.

So God says that these four spirits, which were bound in the river Euphrates, would be loosed at a specific time, and this time is now upon us. Be not terrified or afraid. God is going to pour out His Spirit upon us in a mighty way such as the earth has never seen anything like it before.

Scripture reading: John 15:1-6

Revelation 3:1, “And unto the angel of the church in Sardis write; These things saith he that hath the seven Spirits of God, and the seven stars; I know thy works, that thou hast a name that thou livest, and art dead.”

This church was situated in the city of Sardis, the capital city of Lydia. Sardis was a very luxurious place. The church had a name that it was alive, yet it was dead. The church was very well populated. It had many members full of the world and the things of the world, but the fruit of the Spirit was not evident.

Let us look again at the Tabernacle that God instructed Moses to build. The entrance into the Tabernacle was through the gate. The Brazen Altar of sacrifice was the first piece of furniture inside the gate. In type, this is where church begins. Outside of the gate of the Tabernacle there is no church. The SEVEN CHURCHES referred to in Revelation are typed by the SEVEN PIECES OF FURNITURE in the Tabernacle. If this is true, then the church that was outside of the gate of the Tabernacle was a dead church. Sardis was NAMED by God as one of the seven churches. Therefore, this church was supposed to have been alive, but because it had ceased to produce fruit, it was dead. John 15:1-6 tells us that the fruit bearing of a church or an individual must come through the connection to the vine, which is Christ.

“I am the true vine, and my Father is the husbandman. 2 Every branch in me that beareth not fruit he taketh away: and every branch that beareth fruit, he purgeth it, that it may bring forth more fruit. 3 Now ye are clean through the word which I have spoken unto you. 4 Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me. 5 I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing. 6 If a man abide not in me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered; and men gather them, and cast them into the fire, and they are burned.” A DEAD CHURCH is a church that is no longer attached to the vine.

In the Tabernacle, the symbol of the church is the Candlestick, or the Lampstand. The oil is poured into the Lampstand and comes up and feeds all the seven lamps. If something should happen and one of the arms is cut off, then no oil would go into that arm and no oil would go to that lamp. Consequently, that lamp would be dead and would have to be removed, according to the Word of God. “Thou hast a name that thou livest, and art dead.” I want to remind you again that these churches are typical of the WHOLE CHURCH AGE from the time of Christ until now. Some of us are involved in these churches, every one of these seven churches. Today there is a church which seems to have life but yet it is dead.

The fruit of the Spirit and fruit bearing do NOT mean winning souls, having miracles, or doing works. God will do His work in spite of us. The church that is saving souls says that they are doing well because souls are being saved. Souls are being saved because God wants to save people. Wherever the Word of God is preached He will save people. Even in places where they do not believe in salvation (churches that play around with the Word) the Word produces deliverance in the people. The fact that souls are being saved, people are being delivered, and lives are being changed DOES NOT NECESSARILY MEAN the church is fulfilling its function before God. God said there are “seven Spirits” working with the seven different churches regardless of what their spiritual condition is. God is still working with them because God must bring forth salvation to His people.

Thought for today:  Jesus is the vine. Are you and your church connected to the vine so that you may bear the fruit of righteousness?

Scripture reading: Leviticus 11:1-8

Jesus said, “eat of me.” Here we find a principle laid down; the principle of taking into one’s spiritual system that which is life and that which is wholesome. Eve fell when she believed the lie of the devil. She had fellowship with Satan and she tasted of death. SHE FELL FROM GOD CONSCIOUSNESS TO SELF CONSCIOUSNESS; from life to death. In the present confusion of things, one finds it hard at times to identify that which is of God and Christ, or that which only bears the coloring of God designed to deceive and ensnare us. The Christ will appear to us in many forms and in strange vessels at times, thus it is absolutely necessary for us to be so equipped to know Him.

Matthew 7:16, “Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles?”

If a man is doing great miracles, yet cannot live a clean Christian life, do not judge him by the miracles, but by the life he lives. Victory in the Spirit begins with victory over one’s own soulish carnal nature.

In the Old Testament, when we see the word “eating,” we must realize it is the type and shadow of the act of absorbing within one’s own being some spiritual work or influence from without. In this sense, we can now understand Leviticus 11:3, “Whatsoever parteth the hoof, and is clovenfooted, and cheweth the cud, among the beasts, that shall ye eat.”

The whole lesson of the Tabernacle of Moses is one of God working through human agents to bring forth life in the earth. This instruction here is showing us how to assess all AGENTS when they bring the word to us before we absorb it and when we absorb it. The key words here are “cheweth the cud” and “parteth the hoof.” Those who chew the cud are those who speak the word and those who part the hoof are those who walk in the word they preach. If a minister preaches a wrong word, he will find out his error when he walks in it and his error will be made open and known to all. Thus the word of God here requires that we only become part of that person, that spirit, that word, which is proved by the working or daily life of those who preach it.

II Timothy 2:6, “The husbandman that laboreth must be first partaker of the fruits.” One is not equipped to preach patience if he has none. “No love,” cannot preach love; “no joy,” cannot preach joy, lest preaching becomes only a repetition of words and not the “power of God unto salvation” (Romans 1:16). In this passage, the apostle Paul uses the Greek word “dunamis,” which is the explosive power of the Holy Ghost.

Scripture reading: Matthew 12:22-37

Words can carry both life and death. This is so because we are not just dealing with natural things. A person who can get angry and wish another dead will have many evil spirits taking his word and going forth to accomplish that which was spoken. We live in a spiritual realm and no word falls to the ground. The spirits of God will obey every word of Christ that comes out of your mouth or your thoughts, but the spirits of the devil will also obey every evil thought and every evil word. As matured Christians we have learned not to speak any negative words or harbor any negative thoughts. Negative thoughts will come and we will see a thing to be totally negative, but we are the balancing force in the world and we are expected to reprove the darkness wherever we see it.

If you can see a negative thing about a person and not have the love and compassion to earnestly pray for that person, then it is the devil that showed you and not God. God will never show anyone anything about anybody unless he knows your love for that person. If He shows you, it means that you are being recruited to pray for that person.

The battle in the realms of the spirit goes back and forth upon these principles. If a man is guilty, then devils claim him, but another can drive that devil from him by the power that God gives us. Therefore, if we deride the guilty, we encourage the devils that have a claim on him to exercise their claim. Many times we see one continuously oppressed of devils and we might feel in our hearts, “It serves him right.” We have unwittingly joined the forces of the devil which are oppressing him and have failed God in the rescue effort which he needs.

We have a word that is like a flashing sword of light when it strikes evil spirits. This means that Jesus Christ, our Lord, who is Himself the Logos, has given us the rhema (or, the word of command) to use as one uses a gun or a sword.

Once I was attacked by what seemed to be a prince of darkness. His power was so great that when he held me, I could not physically move my hands, head, or tongue. At that moment, Jesus appeared to me and gave me instructions. I obeyed and my tongue was released to speak the word of rebuke. When I did so, the thing was thrown from me by the power of God. The rhema, therefore, was the command I spoke, but without Christ, the Logos, my words would be ineffective. Jesus Christ said, …the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life (John 6:63). This simply means that when Jesus speaks, spirits go forth from Him to do His bidding and from what we have learned, we are being brought into that same realm where we speak with the voice and authority of God.

The power of the spoken word should, however, be understood by the believer. When we abide in the Spirit, a certain authority goes along with the words we speak. We have seen it in action and the only way we can describe it is that it comes like a ray of light flashing from the believer to the enemy. In the case of the creative force, it is like a spirit that goes forth and creates the object spoken into being. This same force from God works in the preaching of the Word. If the person who delivers the Word is speaking with the authority of the Spirit, then the hearers must be blessed and lifted up towards Christ. All of God’s activity in the Church moves the believer towards becoming more and more like Christ; the spoken word is a creative force which not only attracts the spirits of heaven to us, but buoys us up into the heavenlies. The spoken word drives away the spiritual forces of the enemy and not even evil men can stand being around anyone who speaks the Word of God. Yes, we do overcome the enemy by the word of our mouth and the Blood of the Lamb.

There is, however, what I would call, a backup, provided of God in the person of the angels that are constantly guarding us:

“Are they not all ministering spirits, sent forth to minister for them who shall be heirs of salvation?”  (Hebrews 1:14)

Angels of God are appointed around every believer to minister for him. We are partners with God, but can only do a certain part of the work (that which pertains to the physical). The angels, however, are appointed of God to do the spiritual. Therefore, when we speak that which pleases God, His spirits act on our behalf. The place of function between man and God as one unit is described in the Word as the lampstand in the Tabernacle of Moses. It is depicted as one of the seven churches as well as one of the seven works of grace that will bring us into perfection (the Man Child Church). In Solomon’s Temple the lampstand was multiplied to ten and was made much larger than the one in Moses’ tabernacle. This shows that there would be a mighty increase in the ministry of God and man working together as well as that the magnitude of light in the Holy Place would be increased ten-fold.

The power of God in the Church has increased immensely, but because of the overspreading of iniquity and abominations, it is not very apparent to us. Nevertheless, we should understand that without this great power it would be impossible for us to even survive the present onslaught of Satan and his hosts.

Thought for today: The spiritual world is waiting to hear our words and thoughts so that they can carry out their purposes – whether good or bad.
