Scripture reading: John 7:17

The plan of the church in the tabernacle is represented by seven pieces of furniture as follows:

  1. THE BRAZEN ALTAR – Representing the cross or death to sin.
    1. Justification – Made just as if you had never sinned.
    2. Salvation – Redemption – Bought and paid for.
  2. THE BRAZEN LAVER – Representing Death to Self typified in baptism – Entering into a Covenant relationship with God.
    1. Baptism – Entering into a Covenant of death, burial and Resurrection with Christ.
    2. Sanctification – Made clean and acceptable to God
    3. Consecration – Putting aside that which is cleansed for the purpose of God’s use alone.
  3. THE GOLDEN CANDLESTICK or Lampstand – Representing the union in the spirit of man and God. It does not merely represent the baptism of the Holy Spirit, since one may be baptized in the Holy Ghost and not live in the Spirit, but it represents the bringing forth of the fruits of the Spirit. It represents man and God working together as one unit.
  4. THE TABLE OF SHEWBREAD – Representing the feasting on the Body of Christ – God’s dining table – The King’s Table
    1. Feeding on Christ in the Body
    2. Feeding on Christ within one’s own spirit
    3. Feeding on Christ in Jesus, who is not only in us, but with us.
  5. THE GOLDEN ALTAR OF INCENSE – Representing the offering of the soul.
  6. THE MERCY SEAT – Representing the overshadowing of the Body of Christ.
  7. THE ARK OF THE COVENANT – Representing the manchild.

These seven pieces of furniture represent:

  1. The seven stages of progression in the history of the church which will eventually produce a perfect church, spoken of in Revelation 12:5 as the “MANCHILD.”
  2. The seven mysteries of the gospel which will be and are being revealed within man. As we walk in them, we receive the revelation of them. God is daring men and women to walk blindly by faith into the blazing light of the WORD. Jesus said in John 7:17, “If any man will do his will, he shall know of the doctrine, whether it be of God, or whether I speak of myself.”
  3. The opening of the seven mysteries is the opening of the Seven Seals, Revelation 5:2. As these mysteries of the gospel are opened, the world is being brought nearer to the final fulfillment of all things.

Thought for today: God is daring men and women to walk blindly by faith into the blazing light of the WORD.

Scripture reading: Romans 8:29

The human being at the very height of his development, as shown in the lesson from the Tabernacle of Moses, will give up his life in order to be absorbed into a higher life form, the MYSTICAL BODY OF CHRIST. Instead of being a whole, he becomes a part. Even at the height of his wholeness or perfection, he pours out all his goodness which he received of God for one great ACHIEVEMENT, “the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus,” Philippians 3:14.

We need to note at this point that the Church as a division of the Tabernacle is represented by the outer court which compasses and envelops the other two divisions. The second division, THE BODY OF CHRIST, is represented by the holy place, which is also a part of the church. The third and final representation of the HUMAN DWELLING PLACE AND MEETING PLACE OF GOD AND MAN, the human body, is represented by the holy of holies. This is the reason why a human life is such a precious thing to God, and should be to us.

The seven divisions are distributed under the three headings as follows:

1. The Church (The Outer Court):

a. The Brazen Altar (brass altar)
b. The Brazen Laver (brass basin)

2. The Body of Christ (The Holy Place):

a. The Candlestick (lampstand)
b. The Table of Shewbread (the dining table for the priests)
c. The Golden Altar of Incense

3. The Human Body (The Holy of Holies):

a. The Mercy Seat (the cover of the ark, made of pure beaten gold)
b. The Ark of the Covenant

From this chart, one can readily draw the inference that the duty of the church is to lead the man to the fiery Altar of sacrifice and to the watery grave, the Laver, for washing and cleansing. Beyond this, the work is on the inside of the believer’s own heart, where the work of the Candlestick or Lampstand (Holy Ghost), the Table of Shewbread (Christ-life), and the Golden Altar of Incense (total separation unto God of one’s whole human and spiritual life) takes place.

The third stage of development in the human soul, as depicted by the Mercy Seat and the Ark of the Covenant in the Tabernacle, brings man out of himself and into the nature of the Father. It is the third experience and the end of all flesh (carnality).

From this third experience, man comes to be like Jesus in His natural body. He walks and lives in flesh and blood, yet without sin. Then afterwards in a resurrected body – human, eating if he wants to, but Godlike enough to come through the wall or disappear at will. This is the experience Paul describes in 1st Corinthians 15:51-53.

Romans 8:29 bears that fact out that we shall be like Jesus, not only spiritually, but physically also. It must be, that one day soon, the Lord will truly answer our prayer, “Thy Kingdom come, Thy will be done in earth (our being), as it is in heaven.”

“For whom He did foreknow, He also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of His Son, that He might be the firstborn among many brethren,” Romans 8:29.

(Excerpt from The Pattern, pg. 27-28)

Thought for today: Let us press forward to the third stage of development which brings man out of himself and into the nature of the Father.

Scripture reading: Leviticus 14:21-23

I am sure you sometimes wonder, “Why was it necessary for the children, all the people of God to be killed?” They were eaten by lions. What an awful death that must have been. They were burned with fire. They were put to the sword. Why was it necessary?

Look at 2 Timothy 4:4, And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables. 5 But watch thou in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, make full proof of thy ministry. 6 For I am now ready to be offered, and the time of my departure is at hand.

Paul is saying that because of his ministry, because of his stewardship, because of his priesthood, he was “ready to be offered.” Do you know that the priest offered himself first? When he went to the Altar of Incense, he offered himself. The people put their hands on him and they confessed their sins before him: adultery, theft, lying, murder, and he took all of the sins, staggered in before God, and offered up for himself and for the sins of Israel. The fire went up, the smoke went up and God accepted it.

So therefore, there is an offering to take place in our time. An offering that soon will be. But did you know that there were some people who were too poor to give the offering (see Leviticus 14:21-22)? Can you understand what that says? Some people were too poor to make the offering, therefore God said that they should get two doves and the doves would be the offering for that person – Holy Spirit. Yes, the Holy Spirit would come in.

Leviticus 14:10, And on the eighth day he shall take two he lambs without blemish, and one ewe lamb… “On the eighth day.” What is that saying? That is saying that on the new beginning – eight is the number of new beginning – God is going to create an offering.

God Almighty is saying that He is creating a people and you are going to be among those people, in the company of the Lamb. In the morning, Jesus Christ died. Thank God, He gave us His Blood and He saved us from our sins. In the middle of the day, the Church and all those who went towards bringing this Church here – starting with Abraham and going right down through the whole nation of the Jews, bringing forth Jesus Christ, bringing forth life in my soul. Then, we become the next lamb – the last lamb to be offered is the two witness company. Amen.

(Excerpt from Keeping in Touch, February 2007, pg. 40-41)

Thought for today: We become the next lamb – the last lamb to be offered is the two witness company.

Scripture reading: James 2:17-24

I remember when I was a young Christian, we used to go from house to house, and ask, “Can you give me something to do today? I want to clean up your yard or something like that, and you can give me an offering for my church.” So we went and worked and in the evening everybody came in with what they had earned. The sweat of my body… This body is the temple of the living God and anything I use it to do for God is well pleasing with Him!

One of the things I must do is to obey God with my substance. Yes! I lay my substance down. We are talking about the Altar of Incense in the Holy Place where man lays his soul down before God, and says, “God, take it.” The Bible tells us that if the smoke goes up, God accepts it. If the smoke goes down, the priest dies right there at the Golden Altar; he is not going to make it to the Holy of Holies. He is going to die right there in the Holy Place where God is asking you to offer your soul. When you are half in and half out, you offer to God an unclean soul. You are half for the world and half for God! Is it Hollywood that is motivating us, or is it heaven? Are we going to continue to do the things that we believe are righteousness? WE MUST BE RIGHTEOUS NOW! Believe me, we must go to God and weep and pray and say, “Lord God, I do not know what to do. I do not know where to go. I do not know how to go. I cannot walk without You! I cannot talk without You! I need you Jesus!” Weep between the porch and the altar, according to the Word of God, UNTIL GOD SPEAKS! And when He tells you what to do, you have a peace inside. You do it because you have a peace inside. Hallelujah!

Brethren, think of Abraham. Abraham believed God. “Abraham believed God, and it was counted unto him for righteousness” (Genesis 15:6, Romans 4:3, Galatians 3:6, James 2:23). That is how you are going to get righteousness. The only way you are going to get holy and righteous is by believing God.

Take your mind off yourself! Take your mind off marriage—who you are going to marry, and where, and how, and when. Take your mind off the things of the world. Jesus said in the parable of the seed and the sower, “And some (seeds) fell among thorns, and the thorns grew up, and choked it, and it yielded no fruit” (Mark 4:7). Have you ever considered why you are not bringing forth fruit? Why are we not bringing forth fruit? We should be a fruitful tree that hangs over to the ground with fruit that people would be coming from everywhere to taste of the fruit of Zion that comes from the people of God. WHY ARE WE NOT BRINGING FORTH FRUIT?

Worse than that, we are bringing forth bad fruit! Yes! Brethren are getting up and using their tongue for sin. God heals you. God delivers you from death. God preserves your life. He keeps you. Is it for the purpose that you might then take your tongue to slander God’s people? To slash the people of God? God is displeased with the work of the tongue IN HIS PEOPLE.

However, there is a people in this last hour who must go to the high road; who must climb the mountain; who must overcome! And it depends on YOU whether you will be among those people or not. Hallelujah! Because, if you fail God, God will get someone else who will not fail.

(Excerpt from The Omega Message, November 1999, pg. 11-12)

Thought for today: Weep between the porch and the altar, according to the Word of God, until God speaks. And when He tells you what to do, do it!

Scripture reading: Leviticus 10:1-7

The Golden Altar of Incense is a place of life. The whole idea of the Holy Place is the type of entering into the life of Christ, BUT one must remember that when one enters into the life of Christ, one must give up his own life. It stands out as truth, therefore, that to enter into the very fullness of the life of Christ, one must settle the question of SELF LIFE and ALL OTHER ALIEN TYPES OF LIFE, upon which the Covenant of the Outer Court was sealed and signed with blood.

There is a fearful record of DEATH AT THE GOLDEN ALTAR. Leviticus 10:1-2 records the death of Nadab and Abihu, two sons of Aaron who were also priests. In our time, it represents not only ministers, but those who have reached that stage in Christ. God did not kill Nadab and Abihu. They transgressed basic principles and became the victims of their own folly. No other fire was to be used in the tabernacle but the fire from the Outer Court altar of sacrifice, which God Himself lit, and which was a holy fire to be perpetuated. They disregarded instructions, and EXPERIMENTED in things of God. All this sounds familiar to me. The men and women of our day are transgressing in this very thing at the Altar of Incense and are indeed DROPPING DEAD, both physically and spiritually.

Adam was created of God, a LIVING SOUL, but Adam died. Since that time, the perfect will of God for man has been to see man move again, NOT ONLY INTO LIFE, BUT INTO IMMORTALITY.

2 Timothy 1:10, “But is now made manifest by the appearing of our Savior Jesus Christ, who hath abolished death, and hath brought life and immortality to light through the gospel.”

It is God’s will, therefore, for man to move higher than just being a LIVING SOUL, but to the very LIKENESS OF GOD, becoming a QUICKENING SPIRIT.

This, in other words, is the SONSHIP MESSAGE which we preach. It is the message of God to His creatures to lift them from SERVANTSHIP to SONSHIP. They are to be masters and rulers in the natural, but children in the spiritual.

It transpires, therefore, that when the soul realm is conquered, and the GIFTS AND FRUITS of the Spirit begin to come forth in our lives, and we begin to have power over the enemy, having overcome the enemy within, THEN there remains only one enemy, or one VEIL yet, and that is ourselves. The veil represents flesh, and there are three to be crossed in the Tabernacle, before we come into the Holy of Holies, where God meets with man in a FACE TO FACE relationship (see Exodus 25:22).

(Excerpt from The Pattern, pg. 124-125)

Thought for today: Let us consider what we are working so hard for? God’s plan is perfect, he sees the end. Let us submit to Him and get higher by putting down our soulish nature and putting on the nature of God.

Scripture reading: Revelation 9:13-15

This picture in Revelation 9 brings us back to the Tabernacle of Moses. The golden Altar of Incense is situated before the veil in the Holy Place, and the High Priest burns the incense on this altar before he goes into the Holy of Holies on the Day of Atonement. This is the fifth station in the Tabernacle. The sixth angel would then be the angel of the Mercy Seat. When he blows his trumpet to call you from the fifth to the sixth, he is, in effect, saying the offering of your soul is accepted, and it is time to come into the veil and under the shadow of the Almighty for hiding and safety. The Scripture clearly states in Matthew 24:21 [concerning this time that is before us], that unless God protects us no flesh would be saved. The most modern example of this protection from God that I know of is the case of the sisters in Switzerland. The story is told, that when the radiation was released in the Chernobyl nuclear accident, all the sheep, cattle, and crops were contaminated, except theirs. They prayed and believed God, and the radiation did not affect them or their farm. (It is indeed peculiar, that the word “Chernobyl” in Russian means “wormwood” (Ref. Revelation 8:11)).

Revelation 9:14 is saying that God has a special hour of a special day, of a special month, of a special year. This means that God has one special day and a special hour when He is going to let go His restraining hand that binds the angels of death and destruction and let them loose in the earth.

I asked the Lord concerning this thing about the “Euphrates.” “Why Euphrates?” The answer He gave to me is that it is a key. Whenever you see God mention things like that, it is a key, and once you get the key, it is going to open a lot of understanding into many things. It is like the key word “Jerusalem,” meaning the many people of God who are temples of God making up a city of God; and like the key word “Babylon,” which means the many rebellious ones who are against God, and who join together to make up a land of rebellion against God.

The Lord said to me, “Open up the Bible map in the back of your Bible and look at the river Euphrates.” I began to write down the names of the different countries that are in and around the area through which the river Euphrates flows, and I found the list to be very interesting. It included all these hard-core Islamic nations: Iraq, Iran, Armenia in Russia, Syria, Turkey. It came to me that Islam and the spirits of violence which rule Islam have been bound, but they are going to be released and will bring destruction to the world.

Recently, they found a whole shipload of atomic weapons going to one of these Arab countries and arrested it. Now, that was the one they found. What about the many they did not? The Arab nations are arming themselves with atomic weapons. They hate Christianity and want to destroy the Christian world. They believe that Islam will rule the world someday.

So God says that these four spirits, which were bound in the river Euphrates, would be loosed at a specific time, and this time is now upon us. Be not terrified or afraid. God is going to pour out His Spirit upon us in a mighty way such as the earth has never seen anything like it before.

(Excerpt from The Omega Message, April 1997, pg. 21-22)

Thought for today: We thank God for His Word that gives us power to overcome every fear of things to come.

Scripture reading: Exodus 30:1-10

I pray that God might open our eyes that we might see His work in this hour, for I believe that those who behold will receive. I believe that God is making us to see the thing, and then to walk in it and receive it. I believe that He has begun to tell us in direct terms that we can now enter in. Formerly, we looked forward to the firstfruits and the resurrection of the Christ within us as something in the far future. But I am seeing that it is being offered to us as something that has already been done in the heavenlies, and that we are being encouraged to enter in.

Today, I want you to remember the Day of Atonement in the Old Testament times, when the priest would go through the veil. He had been preparing for this moment for a whole year. The day had come when he should go through the veil, and it was a fearful place. He had done all that was necessary in the tabernacle: the lamp was lit, the bread was changed, and he was now before the golden altar for the last time before going into the Holy of Holies, into the presence of God.

The Golden Altar was the place of the offering of the soul. The priest takes out a handful of incense and places it on the fire. The incense goes up into smoke, which tells him that God has accepted his prayers; and he says to God, “This is for my sins and for the sins of Israel.” He was offering his soul, because Israel had laid their hands on him to be their scapegoat, and he became their sin bearer.  He was now ready to give up all, totally, to go through the veil. He might not return alive, because he was going into the very presence of God. He wanted to see God manifest His pleasure in his offering by shining forth in the Shekinah glory. It would shine from between the cherubim, but he was not able to look upon it. He would fall upon his face and worship God when the power of God came upon him.

We should notice that there is a deeper, inner work being done now in the hearts and lives of believers. Those who are really going on with God are going into a fullness they have never experienced before. The lamb was chosen ten days before he was offered and so there seems to be a selection going on in the Spirit as never before. Something in the individual seems to be saying, “I do not have much interest in the things of this life anymore.” It seems to me that there is something more important among the brethren, that their hearts are turning away from the world and turning more to God.

The hand of God is offering the people of God that fullness which we so long prayed for. “THY KINGDOM COME, THY WILL BE DONE…” seems no longer to be in the far future, but is being activated by the Spirit right now. I see God getting His people into shape, because He must have a people without spot or wrinkle.

(Excerpt from The Omega Message, April 1997, pg. 1-2)

Thought for today: Let God’s deeper, inner work be done in your heart and life so that you may experience the fullness that is awaiting His people just round the corner. May your prayer today be, “Not my will, but thine be done.”
