Scripture reading: Genesis 5:21-24

God has separated our time into three dispensations. Let us look at the first dispensation today. We call it “The dispensation of innocence,” but it can be called any other name. During this time, Adam began to teach his children what happened to him when he walked in the garden with God Almighty. Have you ever thought of it? The privilege of walking with the Living God? Adam had this experience and he began to teach his children. He taught them hundreds of years and then, after somewhere around nine hundred years, somebody got the message. One man! The man Enoch had the capacity, the determination, and the power of faith to break through into the presence of God and to COMMAND the deliverance!

And all the days of Enoch were three hundred sixty and five years: And Enoch walked with God: and he was not; for God took him” (Genesis 5:23-24).

Adam taught Enoch, and the Bible says here that it took 365 years. The number 365 looks somewhat suspicious, doesn’t it? 365 days make one solar year. So then, in 365 years one man got the message. God translated Enoch when he was 365 years old, and thereby, by type showed us what is going to happen at the end of time when God will bring man into the fullness.

“…And Enoch walked with God….” The first man that we read of that walked with God was Adam. It says that Adam walked with God. He taught Enoch, and Enoch learned to walk with God. And Enoch’s wife said, “Enoch walked with God and is not for God took him.” For the Bible says that Enoch had sons and daughters (Genesis 5:22). That shows that the man was a natural, normal man who had a wife and children, and a home. And it says that he walked with God!

And Enoch walked with God: and he was not; for God took him.”

Now, Enoch’s wife didn’t mourn. She wasn’t crying and weeping that she lost him, because she didn’t lose him. She gained him! Enoch “walked with God,” and she said, “Enoch is not.” That means to say that, “He is no longer here. He is no longer a natural, carnal, physical man. He has ASCENDED!” And the Bible tells us that he did it by faith!

By faith Enoch was translated that he should not see death; and was not found, because God had translated him: for before his translation he had this testimony, that he pleased God” (Hebrews 11:5).

He walked with God by faith, and it said, “And…God took him.” What would make God want a man? Can you imagine how much God must have loved that man? See him walking like the perfect NEW CREATION MAN! God had a plan to make us into a new creation man, so when Adam fell it did not bother God. For God saw this same Adam that fell ahead at the end of the day WALKING IN POWER AND GLORY! Amen!

So then, God said to Enoch, “Would you like to come with Me?” And Enoch said, “That is what I want.” Amen! “Nothing else would satisfy me. The reason I live is to worship Thee!” Amen! Yes! “The reason I live is to worship Thee, God!”

And Enoch… was not; for God took him.”

This was absolutely amazing! I cannot imagine how it must have seemed. He just stepped from natural into supernatural. Enoch never died but is alive this very day. He just went from natural into supernatural. Amen!

Thought for today: Let the following be the confession of our mouths and hearts: “Nothing else will satisfy me, Lord, but to come away with Thee. The reason I live is to worship Thee!”

Scripture reading: Matthew 4:4

In every age of humanity at least one man found immortality. We have already talked about Moses in our previous post so today let us go way back to the age of innocence. Enoch. There was a way, there was an opening, there was a door in that dispensation of time that men could have used to walk into God. Adam used to walk with God in the garden (Genesis 3:8), but when he sinned, God set an angel with a sword that turns four ways at the entrance so that no man can re-enter into the garden (Genesis 3:24). We have to think of it as a spiritual realm. There was a spiritual realm that had a barrier that no man could enter, and that realm is in your soul. You cannot go back there except in Christ.

Adam had been teaching the sons of God; he had been teaching them all. The seventh man from Adam saw something in what Adam was saying that was beyond Adam, and he was going to exercise that thing. Do you know what it was? Faith! There was an opening by faith – that God would count you worthy of faith. If you died, you would go to hell because you had sin, but if you had faith in God to believe that you wouldn’t die, you could escape death. That was the only way Enoch could escape, to get out of it without dying. Enoch never died. Enoch believed God and he got God into a corner. “You promise that if I believe You, I will never die.” The power (I am talking about energy), the power and the love of God were in Enoch. He exercised his right before God so that God had to say, “Come up,” and “Take him up.”

Did you know that Enoch lived 365 years? Three hundred sixty-five and ¼ days make a solar year. I believe Enoch even had the quarter in it and that is when he left. His wife said, “Enoch walked with God and Enoch is no more for God took him away” (Genesis 5:24). So Enoch got into heaven without dying. I don’t know what he did with his clothes. I know Elijah dropped off his. But Enoch is in heaven as a physical man, flesh and bone. Maybe the blood is gone, but the bone is there and Enoch is with God. By the power of the love of God that was in him, he was able to cheat death. So was Elijah; and we do believe the Bible confirms that many more went that way. Probably millions and millions and millions of people are in heaven with their natural bodies, like your natural body.

You see, the natural body you have can feed on two different types of energy. The energy we are getting from the earth is very low; it is low energy. That is the reason we have to eat three times a day. Although you might have eaten twice by the time of the evening, I am sure before you go to bed, you are going to nibble something again. Why are you doing that? Because you lack energy. You want more. You are getting your energy from the earth, but Jesus said, “I have food that no man knows of.” He said that “Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God” (Matthew 4:4).

It so happened in Elijah’s time that God made a bread, a cake for Elijah. I notice He said, “cake,” not bread. That means to say that He must have put something sweet in it. The man, Elijah, ate the cake and after he ate it, he went to sleep. Then the angel woke him up and said, “Come, eat again.” He ate again and the food he ate that day lasted him 40 days (I Kings 19:8). He wasn’t hungry for 40 days! (I would like to find that food.) We are talking about life. God is light. God is life. God is energy. God is power. All that says that God is love; and that is what love means. Elijah ate this love or this life and it lasted him 40 days. He wasn’t hungry for 40 days.

I just want to show you what we are looking at. We are trying to look at the thing on a higher level. The love of God in you will deliver you from everything that is natural and carnal and physical. The love of God IN you. If you hate, you are going to get trouble. Do you know that to worry is part of hate? Have you ever heard that some people get cancer because of worry, because or stress? If you, by the power of God, overcome stress, you will save your life. “If” is such a powerful word. You have two ways to go. You can go one way and get trouble, distress, worry, pain and suffering. Or, you can go the other way and get life. The same trouble will be there but it won’t affect you.
