Scripture reading: Leviticus 11:1-8

Jesus said, “eat of me.” Here we find a principle laid down; the principle of taking into one’s spiritual system that which is life and that which is wholesome. Eve fell when she believed the lie of the devil. She had fellowship with Satan and she tasted of death. SHE FELL FROM GOD CONSCIOUSNESS TO SELF CONSCIOUSNESS; from life to death. In the present confusion of things, one finds it hard at times to identify that which is of God and Christ, or that which only bears the coloring of God designed to deceive and ensnare us. The Christ will appear to us in many forms and in strange vessels at times, thus it is absolutely necessary for us to be so equipped to know Him.

Matthew 7:16, “Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles?”

If a man is doing great miracles, yet cannot live a clean Christian life, do not judge him by the miracles, but by the life he lives. Victory in the Spirit begins with victory over one’s own soulish carnal nature.

In the Old Testament, when we see the word “eating,” we must realize it is the type and shadow of the act of absorbing within one’s own being some spiritual work or influence from without. In this sense, we can now understand Leviticus 11:3, “Whatsoever parteth the hoof, and is clovenfooted, and cheweth the cud, among the beasts, that shall ye eat.”

The whole lesson of the Tabernacle of Moses is one of God working through human agents to bring forth life in the earth. This instruction here is showing us how to assess all AGENTS when they bring the word to us before we absorb it and when we absorb it. The key words here are “cheweth the cud” and “parteth the hoof.” Those who chew the cud are those who speak the word and those who part the hoof are those who walk in the word they preach. If a minister preaches a wrong word, he will find out his error when he walks in it and his error will be made open and known to all. Thus the word of God here requires that we only become part of that person, that spirit, that word, which is proved by the working or daily life of those who preach it.

II Timothy 2:6, “The husbandman that laboreth must be first partaker of the fruits.” One is not equipped to preach patience if he has none. “No love,” cannot preach love; “no joy,” cannot preach joy, lest preaching becomes only a repetition of words and not the “power of God unto salvation” (Romans 1:16). In this passage, the apostle Paul uses the Greek word “dunamis,” which is the explosive power of the Holy Ghost.

Scripture reading: Ephesians 4:11

Yesterday we talked about “having your loins girt about with truth” and about following the true apostolic leading. Let us look today at more “truth” and the other ministries described in Ephesians 4:11.

We have the prophetic ministry but we do not respect them. If somebody prophetically comes and tells me something, for example my wife, I say, “Now, where did you get it? Is it you or from the Lord?” She says, “Well, it just comes to me.” I say, “Well, that is good enough for me.” The prophetic ministry is not only speaking through the prophets, but it is speaking through the hearts of all the brethren, because the spirit of prophecy is the Spirit of Christ (Revelation 19:10)! When the prophetic ministry speaks, I have already had the word inside of me. The Christ in me says, “Aha!” I am afraid to do anything against what is said by a prophetic ministry! We have to begin to believe God.

“…and he gave some evangelists…” There is a brother I know who is going out as an evangelist. I noticed that when he goes, God makes it a point to give him some substance wherever he goes. I am not talking about people with whatever faults we have, but I am talking about “God in us.” I am talking about “Christ in you, the hope of glory” (Colossians 1:27). Christ moving in you and Christ moving through you! I have no business with your faults! God will take care of them! MOVE AS GOD WOULD HAVE YOU TO MOVE, AND STOP SUBMITTING TO THE SPIRITS OF UNBELIEF! Hallelujah! Instead of sitting back on your haunches and criticizing everything that everybody does, get up and do something! Amen!

“…and he gave some shepherds…” You know, we lack shepherds. Oh, we lack shepherds! There is nobody who loves the people, who will lay down their lives for them, who will go and seek them out in the darkness, who is looking after them. I think that the poverty of this specific group is the lack of shepherd ministry. Does anyone care? Do we really care? There is such and such a one and we have not seen him for a while; he has not come back to service. We do not know what is wrong with him; and then a little news might come around that he is out there eating dirt—and nobody goes after him! We cannot allow them to stay there! We will not allow them to stay there! Somebody should say, “Lord God, kill me unless such and such comes back!” But do you know what? If you just say it of yourself, you are a goner. You are going to die. That is, if you say it of yourself. You need to have the spiritual energy that comes from God, which gives you the real compassion for that person. Compassion that rises to a level that you put your own heart and life on the line! Not one should die in our midst. Many are walking in the ways of death and hell, but we need to reach out to them.

We pray for the people, because these things are being done by spirits. The spirits are even going as far as dressing up the people like spirits. Have you ever looked at the costumes the children wear at Halloween? These are the spirits that are reigning and ruling in the world around us, the powers of the world (the “cosmokratoras”) that are binding us, binding the church, and stopping the church from going. God Almighty is speaking a word to get the church loose. THE CHURCH MUST MOVE OUT NOW AND BREAK THE POWER OF THE DEVIL IN OUR LIVES! Amen!

If you find yourself cursing, you know that it is something that is wrong. A brother once said that he found himself cursing, having profanity in his mind. He said that he would not talk it out and nobody would hear, but it was in his mind. That shows that there is a demon ministering death to his mind. This brother was only the mouthpiece to talk it out, of that which goes through the minds of some of the brethren.

“Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth…” If you do not have the truth, if your belt is not properly girded, then you have left a space for Satan to administer DEATH to you. Do you understand? You have left a space! The truth MUST be there! Question everything that you hear, and question it and question it and question it until it becomes LIFE to you! The clean animal chews his cud. So CHEW YOUR CUD!

(Excerpt from The Omega Message, December 2003, pg. 55-57)

Thought for today: Trust the ministry that God has ordained in the church and chew the cud until it becomes life to you.

Scripture reading: Colossians 1:16-17

We can see in Colossians 1:16-17 that there is nothing that can walk or talk or do anything except they get the power from God either directly or by proxy. Therefore, angels feed; spiritual beings feed. Man is spirit, soul, and body. Man’s spirit and soul must feed from some spiritual source for they cannot feed from the natural. Man’s body feeds from the earth and the earth keeps his body going. But it is not the earth that keeps his soul or his spirit going.

Psalm 78:25, “Man did eat angels’ food: he sent them meat to the full.” If “man did eat angels’ food,” that means angels have food.

David cried out to God spiritual utterance when he spoke of his soul being thirsty. Psalm 42:1-3, “As the hart panteth after the water brooks, so panteth my soul after thee, O God. My soul thirsteth for God, for the living God: when shall I come and appear before God? My tears have been my meat day and night, while they continually say unto me, Where is thy God?”

This passage clearly illustrates that the soul feeds. Spiritual beings must feed on spiritual things. Natural beings feed on natural things. Those who do not feed their souls with the spiritual bread of heaven are hungry and weak spiritually, without energy and life. This is what God is trying to say to us. The prophets of old prophesied that a generation should arise whom they called The Elect. They should feast upon the Word of God and become the Word of God. They should be transformed to being the Word of God, walking and talking the living Word, as God has ordained. We should be like Christ and He was The Living Word on earth.

The basic principles of this understanding have been laid down in Leviticus, in the law. Let us look there and then we will understand what is meant by EATING THE WORD. In Leviticus chapter 11 God speaks to the Jews, telling them not to eat certain animals, and to eat certain animals. God is not talking about animals. To the Jews, YES. To those who were in the wilderness, YES. But not to us today. The Bible is a book with depth, and length, and height, and as we come from the natural plane, we begin to see that there is a depth within the Word, that we might understand it quite differently. Leviticus 11:2-3, “Speak unto the children of Israel, saying, These are the beasts which ye shall eat among all the beasts that are on the earth. Whatsoever parteth the hoof, and is clovenfooted, and cheweth the cud, among the beasts, that shall ye eat.”

“The beasts…that...parteth the hoof” IN THE SPIRITUAL DIMENSION are the TWO WITNESS COMPANY, those who walk in THE SPIRIT and THE WORD (the two witnesses of God). They have PARTED HOOVES, their feet are shod, and they never have problems with walking on stones. They run and race over stones. If you watch goats on the rock, they run and jump from place to place. I have never seen a goat miss its step and fall from a rock. They have cloven feet. These are beasts which you should eat.

“Cheweth the cud” means those who speak the Word of God with truth. Those who not only catch it and swallow it and run off with it to turn it into action and make flesh out of it, but those who receive the Word of God, contemplate it, go to bed with it, eat it, bring it up again, eat it again, UNTIL it becomes part of them. God describes clean beasts, men, as “whatsoever parteth the hoof, and is clovenfooted, and cheweth the cud.” God said that there are some beasts (men) that eat (chew the cud), but they do not have cloven feet. They study, they get the Word and bring it up and eat it again, but they do not walk correctly. They have claws (they are NOT clean unto you). God spoke about the hare and the coney and other animals.

Then He said that there are some beasts who do NOT chew the cud but do have cloven feet. These are also unclean. In order to be clean, you must both walk the walk and talk the talk. You must do both, not just one. The swine is among those who walk the walk, but do not chew the cud.
