Scripture reading: Exodus 28:9-12

I want you to understand that there are different realms of warfare and there are two basic areas that are our undoing. We are fighting spirits from without (that is, the spirits the devil sends against us) and then we are fighting spirits from within (that which has been planted in us from our bloodline). As a member of your family, you have a long line of wicked spirits that claim they are part of your being. There was a host of demons in your soul. When you came to God, you first of all gave some of them a blow and they pulled away from you. But then they came back and began to work on you.

I remember what happened when I got saved. When I got saved, my sister got saved afterwards. In other words, she was the more vulnerable one. After she got saved, her daughters got saved; and the whole family began to get saved. I said to God, “Why? Why did these people, who never knew about salvation, get saved after I got saved?” God said, “Well, the demons that had possessed you were hit and destroyed when you accepted Jesus and turned to God. And so, those demons cannot go to your family anymore.” You know, I put some of them in the abyss. Every spirit that bothered me I would put them in the abyss. Now, I did not see them going down, but I believed it; and I believed it when I saw the effect upon my family; how the demons did not have the power over my family as they used to.

Moses was told of God to tell the priests to put an onyx stone on each of his shoulders. The names of the six tribes of Israel were engraved in the stone on his right shoulder, and the names of the other six tribes of Israel on his left shoulder (Exodus 28:9-12). When he came and knelt before God, God accepted him as the priest of Israel; he accepted him as all Israel. So when he said, “Lord, forgive the sins of Your people and my sins also,” the incense would go up, God would accept him, and the sins of all Israel would be forgiven.

But then, what do you think you are before God? You are the priest of your family. I do not care how many dresses you wear or how many pants you wear. I am not talking about masculinity or femininity. I am talking about a divine principle, that when you kneel before God in spirit and in truth, your WHOLE family is before God! Hallelujah!

You see, these are the terms of the blood covenant. I do not know if you understand. You had better study about blood covenant. If I have a blood covenant with you, and you are in blood covenant with that man, then that man has a blood covenant with me also! Do you understand? The blood covenant that we have among us by the Blood of Jesus Christ extends to your family and to everybody with whom you have a blood covenant. We have the same blood covenant! THIS IS THE POWER OF THE CHURCH! AND WE NEED TO EXERCISE THIS POWER!

Thought for today: Let us exercise our blood covenant and as we go before the Lord, let us bring our families and brethren with us.

Scripture reading: Matthew 28:18

Have you ever wondered why it is that even though “all power is given unto me (you) in heaven and on earth” (Matthew 28:18), we are suffering so much? Why do we have our houses being broken up? Why are we being smashed to pieces? It is because God is ALLOWING it! Now, why would my God allow that? You see, God has given you a weapon, but if you do not use it, you are going to die.

I remember David moaning for Abner (2 Samuel 3:33). He said, “Abner, oh Abner is a fool!” He said, “He died with his weapon in his sheath. He allowed the man to take him and kiss him, plunge his sword into him and kill him when he had his sword in his sheath.” David would have been pleased if he had died fighting instead. This is the situation with the church!

Brethren! Psalm 91:1 says, “He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.” “…shall!” Amen! There is NO excuse for failure! NO excuse! The first thing that happens to you, when something begins to happen to your life, is that the devil starts telling you, “Oh, it is natural. It is natural.” IT IS NOT NATURAL! Sister, it is not natural for your husband to be taken away from you. Do not believe anything else but that God gave you that man! Do not believe that it is God’s will for him to be away from his children. You have to believe the truth! Hallelujah! Begin to command it! You have a blood covenant with him! Yes! You have a blood covenant with him, but many times we do not exercise our blood covenant because we are afraid that God might kill him. Isn’t that true? Many times we are afraid that he might die if God goes to arrest him, but that man is part of your blood and your body and you must command God to release him! But you see, because he might be held by a prince, it is necessary for you to rise up to the place where the power of the prince is, before you can overcome him. Amen.

The church could do it. Now, what do I mean by that? I mean that God has given us power. I remember my brother, Frank. He was a wild, wild, fun loving fellow! Oh, he would be just going! When I would see the man, it would just grieve my soul. Do you know what I said? I put my life on the line and I said to God, “If that boy does not come to Jesus Christ, kill me! My life is not worth living if Your Word is not true to me! Kill me!”

Now, you cannot fool with God. You cannot say that if you do not mean it, and you cannot mean it unless you have the spiritual energy. There is one level of energy down here, and there is another level up there. If a prince up there holds your family, you have to get up there also to knock him out. YOU CANNOT STAY DOWN HERE AND WIN UP THERE! Don’t you understand? The frequency on which he operates is up there; the powers that bind your person or your family are on a higher level. If you stay down here, the spirit does not even hear you. You rebuke him, but he does not hear you. Amen!

So you have the power! Remember, “All POWER is given unto me (you) in heaven and in earth” (Matthew 28:18).

(Excerpt from The Omega Message, December 2003, pg. 48-49)

Thought for today: Let us stop fighting in the natural, but let us start using our spiritual weapons and set the captives free.

Scripture reading: Acts 16:19-34

“…Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house.”  (Acts 16:31)

“AND THY HOUSE.” The jailer had only asked for salvation for himself, but Paul offered him also for his whole household. Upon what authority was this offer made and was it biblical? It was upon the authority of Exodus 28. Of all the apostles of the Lamb, Paul was more versed in the typology of the Law and its meaning in Christ than any other. In verse 33, he baptized the whole family. This was no exception—this was the rule.

The jailer was the priest of his family, just as it was in the whole Jewish society that the head of the family was considered the priest of that family and he was spiritually accountable before God for his family. Upon the authority of this word therefore, Paul and Silas baptized the jailer and his whole family.

When the jailer knelt before God, the Lord saw his whole family represented and the curse of sin was removed from the family at that moment. The spiritual principle underlying this is that we are a covenant people. God has established His covenant with us through His Son as our High Priest so that all those with whom we have covenant, He recognizes them as covenanting with Him by proxy. When the devil takes a family, he has power over the third and fourth generation of those who are disobedient. The blood covenant of Jesus Christ with us makes our families blood-covenanted to Christ by proxy. As it was in the old Levitical covenant, the priest would go into the Holy of Holies once every year with the blood of the lamb and when his sins were forgiven all of Israel’s were also forgiven.

In our experience, we see God moving among our families. When one gets saved, then there is a domino effect and God begins to move in the whole family, especially and first among those who are obedient and willing, but even the unwilling are moved by the mercies of God. In the case of my own family, God saved me first, then my brother, then my sister and their families, then another brother’s family, then another brother, then my father and my mother. In my wife’s family the same thing is occurring and also in our children and their families, and the process still continues. There are some basic reasons for this, but it must be made clear that before God a covenant is a very serious matter.

The covenant must be exercised; it cannot be assumed that it will work without exercising it. I am sure most of us have stories of how God moves in our families. This is no coincidence. For those who do not have these stories of salvation of their families, then be assured they are in the making for God will honor his word.

(Excerpt from The Omega Message, October 1990, pg. 6-8)

Thought for today: Remember that the promise of salvation is not only to you but also to your house. Do not get discouraged by what you see today with your natural eyes. Exercise this family covenant and take God at His Word. You will NOT be disappointed.

Scripture reading: Hebrews 6:1-2

Let us look at the doctrine of baptisms today as described in Hebrews 6:2. For context, however, we are going to read from verse 1.

“Therefore leaving the principles of the doctrine of Christ, let us go on unto perfection; not laying again the foundation of repentance from dead works, and of faith toward God. 2 Of the doctrine of baptisms, and of laying on of hands, and of resurrection of the dead, and of eternal judgment.”

How many baptisms have you had? Well, I know somebody who was baptized in water seven times. Every baptism there was held, he wanted to go to get a dip. That is not baptisms, that is still one baptism, and he had never had it the first time. Amen.

Let’s take the basic. Baptism is a covenant, and the Bible says Jesus Christ came by water and by blood (1 John 5:6). Baptism is a blood covenant. It is a covenant unto death. So, if you were baptized in water and you never made that covenant in your soul, you were not really baptized. Remember now, Jesus is coming nearer to you, to the church. Whether you want it to be or not, it is not going to stop Him. Jesus has been creeping towards the church for 2,000 years. Amen.

I think of a man who they dropped in a deep, dark hole. They dug a deep hole and called it a dungeon. They dropped him down into that hole and the man was in that dungeon for three years. The man still lived and still praised God! We think of Paul being in a dungeon. What do you think these dungeons were like? They put them down there, and there was no restroom. Can you imagine a restroom in a dungeon? The dungeon is the restroom. So, every prisoner they had there would defecate and do everything there in the dungeon. Then they would drop another prisoner down there. I think of the worms and everything. The men were in there, standing up. In some of the dungeons, they couldn’t sleep on the floor; they had to lean against the wall to sleep. For food they would let down a piece of bread and a little water. There was no way of getting a change of clothes. There was no way of getting a bath. There was no way of having any kind of life down there and yet men lived in that for years, survived and praised God. Have you ever thought of it?

One time, I went into a restroom in London and it was in a part of the house that was set off from where everybody else was. When I tried to leave, the door wouldn’t open. I was locked up in the restroom, and I felt so awful. I said, “My God, suppose it was a dungeon that I was in?” You know what I mean. You knock, knock, knock, and nobody hears.

God is calling us to a higher level. He said, “Let us put aside all these foundations.” It was Paul’s way of saying, “Well, you need to have these foundations, or else you can’t go on to higher things. BUT, let us put aside these foundations and let us go on to higher things.” Praise be to God.

So, we have baptism in water, baptism in the Holy Ghost, and baptism into Christ. Have you looked at your baptism, and have you seen the thing accomplished? Because if you are baptized in water and you are not baptized in the Holy Ghost, you were not really baptized in water. That sounds bad, doesn’t it? You can go down in water and you can be wet, and come up wet. Dry Christian goes down. Wet Christian comes up, but you are not yet baptized. WHY? Because if baptism in water is without a commitment, without a contract with God unto death, then you haven’t yet been baptized. That contract, that covenant is what makes the baptism a baptism. Hallelujah! The proof of that baptism is that you are baptized in the Holy Ghost. But guess what? Some people are baptized in the Holy Ghost but because they got the inward baptism of the Holy Ghost and they weren’t baptized in the water, they think God will let them off the hook. They say, “Okay, I’ve got it! If baptism in water leads me to baptism in the Holy Ghost, and I’ve got the baptism of the Holy Ghost, then I don’t need baptism in water any more.” No. No. God comes to you and He says, “Go get baptized in water.” WHY? You must make the covenant. You must learn your lesson. You must have His writing on the tables of your heart, written in blood before you can go any further. Amen.

Scripture reading: Exodus 28:9-12

I want you to understand that there are different realms of warfare and there are two basic areas that are our undoing.
