Scripture reading: Hebrews 11:32-35
Another two thousand years had passed since the Flood and humanity had forgotten the judgment of God. Sin and violence had increased, as also the population of the world, far beyond that of Genesis 6. From Nimrod to the Roman Empire, the art of war and human dominion had come a far way. Evil had a firm grip upon humanity; so firm a grip, in fact, that Satan himself thought he was a winner:
Luke 4:6-7, “And the devil said unto Him, All this power will I give thee, and the glory of them: for that is delivered unto me; and to whomsoever I will give it. 7 If thou therefore wilt worship me, all shall be thine.”
From both the carnal mind and the satanic thinking, they could not see any way how God would redeem the situation. The world was again in CRISIS and again total destruction was possible. What would God do? Jehovah (Yaweh), the Almighty, sent His only begotten Son into the mess. He gave Him a flesh and blood body, and the plan of God to rescue Adam’s fallen race. God (who could not be tempted nor suffer weakness) had for the first time exposed Himself to weakness, temptation, and human frailty.
With millions of people in the Earth filled with the devil, Jesus Christ took twelve men and gave them the word of life. The strength of the SEED was so great that it brought light into the world of darkness, totally shattering Satan’s plan of total dominion. Satan’s counter-attack came through the very instrument which God had crafted to kill him. He seduced the Church and contaminated it with false doctrines, human doctrines and sorcery. She lost the power to destroy evil, being incorporated with evil herself, BUT God always retained for Himself a REMNANT.
The Remnant are Sons of God who are hardy and will not bow under the most trying circumstances. They comprise of men and women who are not afraid to die, and love the Lord more than their lives. In Noah and his family God found such a remnant. In Moses and his followers God found this remnant. In Abraham God found this remnant:
Hebrews 11:32-35, “And what shall I more say? for the time would fail me to tell of Gedeon, and of Barak, and of Samson, and of Jephthae; of David also, and Samuel, and of the prophets: 33 Who through faith subdued kingdoms, wrought righteousness, obtained promises, stopped the mouths of lions, 34 Quenched the violence of fire, escaped the edge of the sword, out of weakness were made strong, waxed valiant in fight, turned to flight the armies of the aliens. 35 Women received their dead raised to life again: and others were tortured, not accepting deliverance; that they might obtain a better resurrection.”
We can see then that in the midst of the second world crises, God sent His Son to shatter Satan’s plan and prepare the way for His Remnant.

Thought for today: The seed that brought light into the world of darkness two thousand years ago still has the same strength to shine His light into the darkness today.
