Scripture reading: Psalm 48:1-2

Have you ever wondered why God’s city is called “mount Zion”? The only language that God made directly was the old Chaldean tongue to which the Hebrew is the closest version. The letters of the Hebrew alphabet are also numerals, so that Aleph would be number one; Beth, number two; Gimel, number three, etc. The seventh letter is Zain and the numerical value is seven. This letter in its spiritual meaning is the perfection of God. Throughout the Bible, God speaks of “Zion” as an elect people, through whom He will manifest His glory in the earth at the end of time. This is referring to the same people who Paul calls the “firstfruits” in I Corinthians 15:23, and who John, in the Spirit, refers to in Revelation 14:1-5. These people are ordained of God never to fail.

“And I looked, and, lo, a Lamb stood on the mount Sion, and with him an hundred forty and four thousand, having his Father’s name written in their foreheads. And I heard a voice from heaven, as the voice of many waters, and as the voice of a great thunder: and I heard the voice of harpers harping with their harps: And they sung as it were a new song before the throne, and before the four beasts, and the elders: and no man could learn that song but the hundred and forty and four thousand, which were redeemed from the earth. These are they which were not defiled with women; for they are virgins. These are they which follow the Lamb whithersoever he goeth. These were redeemed from among men, being the firstfruits unto God and to the Lamb. And in their mouth was found no guile: for they are without fault before the throne of God” (Revelation 14:1-5).

I like to read stories of people who never fail. Some time ago, I came across a little booklet entitled, “By Fire and by Sword.” It speaks of a great fighter who was in the army of Napoleon. When Napoleon and his army were finally beaten, this man went home to his little lodge a broken man. He had one son and he began to train this boy to use the sword. He was schooled and strengthened until he became a superb swordsman. As an old experienced soldier, he knew that there was no man in France who could handle a sword better than this young man whom he had trained. At that time, France was like the Wild West, but instead of the gun, men were using the sword.

The day came when he packed up the boy’s things, saddled up his horse, and sent him forth. All along, he knew that the boy was going to be passing through enemy territory, and that surely the great swordsmen of that place were going to attack him. They acted true to form and challenged the young swordsman. The young stranger made short work of all his opponents that day. It did not take long for all of France to hear of him. Eventually, he became the friend of the King, and the story goes that he was never beaten, even when the odds were ten to one. God has a Zion company, an elect army that will never be defeated!

It would be a pleasure for you to look up all that God says about Zion in the Scriptures, such as:

Psalm 50:2, “Out of Zion, the perfection of beauty, God hath shined.”

Psalm 69:35, “For God will save Zion and will build the cities of Judah.”

Isaiah 2:3, “For out of Zion shall go forth the law, and the word of the LORD from Jerusalem.”

Amos 1:2, “The LORD will roar from Zion and utter his voice from Jerusalem.”

All these prophetic utterances from the Old Testament are referring to a people who will find their fulfillment in Christ. A little people (like Gideon’s 300) who will be the overcomers, conquering death as Jesus Christ Himself did, and who will be the firstfruits unto God.

(Excerpt from The Omega Message, June 1996, pg. 8-9)

Thought for today: Do you want to be part of God’s Zion company? If yes, then count your cost and set on a journey that leaves no place to the world and the flesh but presses you to take up your cross and follow Him Who has gone before you.

Scripture reading: Matthew 3:11 & 1 Corinthians 12:13

Water Baptism is an act of Covenant, just as a Marriage Ceremony. When we accepted Jesus Christ as our Saviour, there was no cost accrual to us. Our salvation was bought and paid for by The Blood of Jesus Christ. Now that we are Christians, God is asking us to reciprocate. If we want to be a part of the Body of Christ, our first act would be to make a covenant with the Body of Christ, or in other words, declare our loyalty and love by some act of our will. We, therefore, must renounce the former things, and declare our stand for Christ, thus becoming dead to sin and alive unto God.

  1. Natural – Matthew 3:11
    Baptism in water
    Baptizer is man
  2. Spirit – Matthew 3:11
    Baptism in Holy Ghost
    Baptizer is Jesus
  3. Fullness – 1st Corinthians 12:13
    Baptism into Christ
    Baptizer is Holy Ghost

As the chart shows, let us look at the three dimensions which God has ordained for us to operate.

(1) NATURAL – The First dimension is always the natural. Every principle of God is first given to us in the natural. If we allow our understanding to remain in the natural, then it has no real meaning, since the natural will pass away, and at best is temporary. THE NATURAL BAPTISM, THEN, IS IN WATER, AND PERFORMED BY A HUMAN PERSON.

(2) SPIRITUAL – The Second dimension is always spiritual. The spiritual, therefore, is the real purpose for the natural, and it is upon a higher plane. The spiritual baptism is called the Baptism of the Holy Ghost. This is the entering in of the Holy Spirit into the spirit of the individual. In this baptism, instead of being covered over with water, one is covered over with the Holy Spirit, inside and outside. The pattern, however, was laid by the water baptism. Just as the water covered the believer, so also the Holy Spirit covers him, and the Baptizer is Christ Himself.

(3) FULLNESS – The Third dimension is the absolute fulfillment of both natural and spiritual. If we then understand the water baptism, then we will easily understand what the fullness of baptism will be. In this baptism, we are immersed into Christ by the Holy Spirit. Hebrews 6:2 speaks of “baptisms, while Ephesians 4:5 tells us that there is only “one baptism. These are reconciled when we understand that in the one there are three. Matthew 3:11 tells us that John the Baptist baptized with water, but Jesus would baptize with the Holy Ghost and fire. That gives us the scripture for the first two. The third is found in 1st Corinthians 12:13, where it states that the Holy Spirit baptizes us into Christ.

An example would be in order at this point. There was a natural man named Israel, and he produced a people named Israel. If this was the end of the story, then it would be a sad one indeed, but the natural Israel produced a man named Jesus Christ, who became the Saviour and Lord of a spiritual nation, and then some of the promises which it was impossible for natural Israel to walk in, the spiritual Israel are walking in. However, this spiritual Israel is just as unsatisfactory before God as the natural Israel. God, therefore, must bring another Israel to be made out of both, which He calls Zion (The Body of Christ), which will be the perfection of Beauty.

Scripture reading: Matthew 4:1-11

Have you ever thought about the fact that we are actually failing God? Yes, we are! And where is it that we are failing? We are failing in righteousness! Why are we failing in righteousness? It is because many things are blocking our hearing.

Let me tell you, if you are used to hearing, let us say, rock music, then it is very difficult for you to hear God’s music when God begins to speak. This is because in Romans 10:17 it says that salvation [faith] comes by hearing, and hearing comes by the Word of God. Salvation comes by hearing! Let us take the word “salvation” and put the word “deliverance” in its place. So, deliverance comes by hearing, but hearing comes by the Word of God. Therefore, I can be hearing and not hearing; and I can be hearing the word of deliverance and not being delivered, because I am not really hearing. My hearing has been blocked because I have been listening to something else!

Do you know that the devil uses one word against the other, like bullet against bullet? He fires a blow at you, and you turn back the blow by the power of God. Then he fires another one, for he is trying to break you down to a point where he can handle you. Don’t you understand? Any time you rise up in the Spirit, the devil says to God, “Yes, he is there now. I can attack him on that level.” Amen!

If you believe in dreams and visions, the devil is going to attack you by dreams and visions. Please do not believe that every dream and vision that you have is of God, because it is not true! If God can give you a dream and a vision, the devil can give you one too! He has the right to do it! You are up there, and so he can attack you on that level. Any level you get on, the devil can attack you on the same level in a greater way.

When the devil was attacking Jesus, how did he do it? Did he come and whisper a little suggestion into His head? No, he appeared before Him, man to man. Yes! He appeared before Him. He talked with Him right there, and he took Jesus up into the heights of His spirituality. It says that the devil took Him up into a high mountain. Is this speaking about a mountain in Jerusalem? No! No mountain! He took Him up into the height. The Bible says “mountain.” It means a high place. He took Him up into the height of His spirituality, and said, “Look with me. Look! Look at them.” There was darkness in Peter. There was darkness in James and John, and all the apostles. There were dark spots in them. He said, “I told you I would get them. Zion is mine!” (See Isaiah 14:13.)

You know, we sing songs about Zion, but do you actually know what you are saying while singing these songs? When God says that He will “roar out of Zion” (Joel 3:16), He is talking about you. God is going to roar out of mankind with power to bring this earth under God, but not until you get under God can you expect to bring the earth under you!

Now, the devil said to Jesus, “Look! Look with me.” When Jesus looked, He saw darkness in His chief apostles—men He had called by God’s power to take the gospel through the earth to destroy the power of Satan. These men had darkness in them! He said, “I will tell You what. If we make a deal right now, I will give You the whole of them.” Can you imagine the effrontery of a being that God made in the first place turning around and saying to Him, “I will give You these people?”

Of course, Jesus spoke a word to him and put him down with one word. But what I am saying to you is that Jesus was on a certain level, and because He was on that level, the devil could attack Him on that level. You are on your level, and every one of us is being attacked on our level! Amen! Nevertheless, no matter how hard the attacks are, we mustn’t fail God!

(Excerpt from The Omega Message, November 1999, pg. 8-9)

Thought for today: Let us get used to hearing the Word of God so that deliverance may come to our lives and we don’t fail God any longer.

Scripture reading: Genesis 3:14-19

In Genesis 3:19, God, speaking to Adam, said, “In the sweat of thy face shalt thou eat bread, till thou return unto the ground; for out of it wast thou taken: for DUST THOU ART, and unto DUST shalt thou return.” In Genesis 3:14, God placed a curse on the serpent. “And the LORD God said unto the serpent, Because thou hast done this, thou art cursed above all cattle, and above every beast of the field; upon thy belly shalt thou go, and DUST shalt thou eat all the days of thy life.” God is saying that the serpent is going to use man to get his life and his energy.

This thought is confirmed in Isaiah 14:12-14, “How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! how art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations!” We should change this word “Lucifer” to the proper Hebrew word “Heylel.” There was no such word “Lucifer” when this passage was written by Isaiah. “Lucifer” is a Latin word and it means “shining, bright one.” Why translators used Latin, I do not know. We are comfortable with the name in Hebrew, therefore the word is “Heylel.” “How art thou fallen from heaven, O Heylel, son of the morning! how art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations! For thou hast said in thine heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God: I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north: I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will be like the most High.”

This egotistic boast was made by Satan himself who thought that even though God had an Elect company, even though God had planned a people to destroy him, that he, Satan, was going to overthrow them and he was going “to sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north.” Psalm 48:1 and 2 tells us who this “mount of the congregation” is. “Great is the LORD, and greatly to be praised in the city of our God, in the mountain of His holiness. Beautiful for situation, the joy of the whole earth, is MOUNT ZION, on the sides of the north, the city of the great King.” What God calls “mount Zion” is what Satan said he was going to take and rule over.

Zion was the fortress in Jerusalem which David took from the Jebusites and built as his stronghold. It is where David and his mighty men lived. The word “Zion” is the seventh letter in the Hebrew language, whose value is SEVEN. God uses “Zion” to symbolically mean His strong ones, His mighty ones.

Satan looks at us and thinks that we are puny and wretched. He challenged God concerning Job. He scorned Job. He said that Job would curse God to His face, if He just touched his skin. He said, “Skin for skin” meaning that the guy is nothing but skin and bones and he could get him to curse God. God withdrew His presence from Job and allowed Satan to touch him. When Satan had tried the man for three years, had him down in sackcloth and ashes, sores all over his body, pain and suffering, without any word or promise from God, and the man did not curse God, SATAN LOST.

Satan lost against a natural man. Job was not filled with the Holy Ghost. He did not have the Blood of Jesus Christ. He only had FAITH IN GOD! He said, “And though after my skin worms destroy this body, yet in my flesh shall I see God,” Job 19:26. Against such faith Satan has no power.

We now come back to that word in Colossians 1:13-18 which says that God alone has all the power. All principalities and all powers can only consist upon His allowing them to have food and energy and life. We see a problem here, but GOD HAS A SOLUTION. We are given animals as our food – the fish of the sea, the fowl of the air, the beasts – from whom we get our life in the natural. If Satan is allowed to eat our energy and take the energy from our world to run his kingdom, then we seem to be in bad shape. But one of the greatest things God has ever done for us is that He allowed us to be the food of Satan, because when we rise up and stop him from feasting on us, we will destroy him by the Blood of Jesus Christ and by the power of the Holy Ghost. He will not be able to survive without food.

(Excerpt from The Book of Revelation, Volume 1, pg. 194-195)

Thought for today: When we rise up and stop Satan from feasting on us, we will destroy him by the Blood of Jesus Christ and by the power of the Holy Ghost.

Scripture reading: II Corinthians 10:3-6

We are now in the time when the devil will have his day; when the “man of sin” must come to his full (666); and the Christ to His fullness in a people who must grow “to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ” (Ref. Ephesians 4:13). We now pray, “Thank you, Lord, that the Kingdom is now coming within us.”

We know definitely that the deliverance is coming; it is coming WITHIN us. God is bringing to pass His holy Word. We are seeing it manifested through His people, right here in our congregations. God is fulfilling His word to us concerning our children. It may take trials and tribulations, and the travailing of a family, but as the Church travails she shall bring forth:

“For as soon as Zion travailed, she brought forth her children” (Isaiah 66:8).

Get your house in order! Get things straightened in your minds and in your hearts! Make up your mind who you will serve. Make up your mind that you are going to follow God and his righteousness. For the hour is come when the Lord is bringing first cleansing to the church.

How do you think we are going to rebuke the devils of hell if we ourselves have devils? We must get rid of familiar spirits. One time a brother from Germany preached and as he did, we could see that he was hitting at familiar spirits that have no boundaries. He was talking about the Prussian spirits, but the influence of the principalities and powers in the satanic realm spread their power over the whole world. Each person can speak of his or her own area and we will discover that all the nations (no matter what country we are from) exhibit the same tarnish of soul and demonic bondages. The Holy Ghost, however, is given of God to indwell our spirits so that these strongholds in our soul (our mind, emotions, will, and desires) can be broken and cast out, that Christ may reign within.

(Excerpt from The Omega Message, April 1997, pg. 24-25)

Thought for today: Make up your mind that you are going to follow God and His righteousness and by the power of God pull down the strongholds in your soul.
