Let Us Pray

[Printable version]

Scripture reading: 1 Thessalonians 5:17

The necessity for urgent earnest prayer could never be greater.

In the course of human history there is always a time before great catastrophes when some movement in either one direction or another can make a difference to the majority or to a minority.  In this case and at this time I believe it is too late to save the majority, but God will save the minority, who will in turn save the world from consummation.

If you look at the nations of the world, you will see that there is a fear building up concerning their own capability to destroy and their own importance in controlling these forces.

We have the power to stop the destruction of our world and to preserve the lives of our children, and the Lord is now saying to us that it is time to begin to use this power, through prayer.

Let us pray that the body of Christ will discern the Ministries which God has set in the Church as against those who have been called but run off with their own message. Let us pray that we will cease to drink from springs of “bitter water”.

Let us pray for the ministry. Those who are called and sent of God are fighting an uphill battle on all fronts. They need the urgent and earnest prayers of the Body of Christ.

Let us pray in earnest for those in our midst who are not seeing correctly and are still being influenced by “Partridge” ministries who go about trying to divide and rule.

Let us pray for our brethren in other lands.

Let us lift our hands in prayer for the household of God everywhere, knowing that the time is short and the end is near. We should know that the time of the victory of the Body of Christ is at hand. The scriptures say we would be only given over to the beast, “UNTIL the ancient of days come.”  I encourage you brethren – the Ancient of Days is now coming within us – and the time of our servitude is almost over.

Glory to God!

Thought for today: Let us pray.

Scripture reading: Psalm 1

We understand that there is a different level of righteousness at this time. God is saying that at this time He is calling a righteous people and He is calling a people to come out of sinning and into righteousness. No man, no woman who continues to behave in a way of self-motivation is of God. Did you hear me? No one who continues to move in self-motivation is of God. The average American woman is a woman who loves to rule her husband. It’s unfortunate for me to say this in a world-wide sense and let the people in the world know that is how we Americans are. The average American woman is taught to have her own way, to have her own bank account, to have her own business going. She does not go in accordance with the scriptural description of a “Proverbs 31 woman.” But we are calling to the average “son of God” woman: turn from the natural trait of your generation, turn to God and do God’s work rather than that of your generation or your nation. There are others all over the world who have the same kind of a concept, not just American women. Men and women, stop doing your own thing. If you want to do what you want to do, you must realize that you are not doing what God wants you to do. Then, somebody, after he goes and does his own thing, gives a good tithe or a good offering to the church. God doesn’t care for your offering. God wants your soul. When He gets your soul, He gets everything.

1 John 5:18 says, “We know…” We who? We who are in Christ and believe God. “We know that whosoever is born of God sinneth not (does not continue in sin); but he that is begotten of God keepeth himself (continues to keep himself), and that wicked one toucheth him not. 19 And we know that we are of God, and the whole world lieth in wickedness.”

Some of us take advice from worldly friends. However, Psalm 1 warns us against doing so. Psalm 1:1, “Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful. 2 But his delight is in the law of the LORD; and in his law doth he meditate day and night.”

Brethren, we are talking about sin and righteousness. We are the children of God, bought and paid for by the precious Blood of Jesus Christ, the energy and life of God Almighty from heaven. We are admonished of God to live under the righteousness of God so that we are not caught up by the sin of the world and of the children of the devil. Please, brethren, I plead with you: Change course! Change course! For I know that some of the people who are reading this article are people who have their own way. In everything that you are going to do, ask God, “Lord God, is this my way or is it Yours? Do You want me to do it this way?”

In 2 Corinthians 6:14, it says, “Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers…” You say, “We are not yoked together with unbelievers.” Yet unbelievers give us advice. Friends who are unbelievers will say that you cannot do so and so and so and give you advice contrary to God. “Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness…” What fellowship hath the voice of God inside of the soul of man with unrighteousness? Or, the voice of the devil coming from others? And what communion hath light with darkness? Light cannot have communion with darkness. You, the children of light, cannot accept the word of darkness from friends and others (some Christians give the wrong advice, too). They pick up advice from somewhere, a little piece of darkness from here and a little piece of darkness there; but what communion hath light with darkness? Verse 15, “And what concord (con with accord) hath Christ with Belial?…” Baal, Baalism, which is worship of idols, worship of another god. “Or what part hath he that believeth with an infidel (an infidel, an unbeliever)?”

Now, sometimes it is hard for us to believe that our own children are unbelievers, but sometimes our children are unbelievers. Their only deliverance is for us to walk in righteousness. Do you hear me? Anytime you turn to God and begin to walk according to that covenant that God has given you, walking it in righteousness – look at your children and you will see that it has an effect upon them. The devil cannot stand your righteousness and whenever you speak a word, it rebukes Satan from your own children if you are in righteousness. If you are not in righteousness and you speak a word, it does not rebuke Satan from your children. Therefore, your children are dependent upon you for life. If you think that you can save them by giving your time and your attention to them, you are making a very sad, sad mistake. Your time and attention to God will save them more than anything else.

Thought for today: We are admonished of God to live under the righteousness of God so that we are not caught up by the sin of the world and of the children of the devil.

Scripture reading: Leviticus 14:21-23

I am sure you sometimes wonder, “Why was it necessary for the children, all the people of God to be killed?” They were eaten by lions. What an awful death that must have been. They were burned with fire. They were put to the sword. Why was it necessary?

Look at 2 Timothy 4:4, And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables. 5 But watch thou in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, make full proof of thy ministry. 6 For I am now ready to be offered, and the time of my departure is at hand.

Paul is saying that because of his ministry, because of his stewardship, because of his priesthood, he was “ready to be offered.” Do you know that the priest offered himself first? When he went to the Altar of Incense, he offered himself. The people put their hands on him and they confessed their sins before him: adultery, theft, lying, murder, and he took all of the sins, staggered in before God, and offered up for himself and for the sins of Israel. The fire went up, the smoke went up and God accepted it.

So therefore, there is an offering to take place in our time. An offering that soon will be. But did you know that there were some people who were too poor to give the offering (see Leviticus 14:21-22)? Can you understand what that says? Some people were too poor to make the offering, therefore God said that they should get two doves and the doves would be the offering for that person – Holy Spirit. Yes, the Holy Spirit would come in.

Leviticus 14:10, And on the eighth day he shall take two he lambs without blemish, and one ewe lamb… “On the eighth day.” What is that saying? That is saying that on the new beginning – eight is the number of new beginning – God is going to create an offering.

God Almighty is saying that He is creating a people and you are going to be among those people, in the company of the Lamb. In the morning, Jesus Christ died. Thank God, He gave us His Blood and He saved us from our sins. In the middle of the day, the Church and all those who went towards bringing this Church here – starting with Abraham and going right down through the whole nation of the Jews, bringing forth Jesus Christ, bringing forth life in my soul. Then, we become the next lamb – the last lamb to be offered is the two witness company. Amen.

Scripture reading: 1 Timothy 5:6

We read in 1 Timothy 5:6, “But she that liveth in pleasure is dead while she liveth.” I want you to understand that there are some people who are dead and yet they live. Let me tell you a story about this subject that you know very well.

There was a man who was king over Israel named Saul. Remember that man? God called him, anointed him and gave him power to overcome the enemies of God, but the man began to be disobedient. The prophet went to him, but he never submitted.

When David sinned with Bathsheba, the prophet went to him (in 2 Samuel 12) and told him the story about the rich man having a big fold of sheep, and the poor man having just one little sheep, which was taken by the rich man to feed his visiting friends. When David heard this, he was incensed and ready to punish this man right away. Then the prophet said, “Thou art the man!” David fell down before him and said, “Oh God, forgive me!” He did not resist, but confessed his guilt.

Saul, on the other hand (in 1 Samuel 15), when confronted by Samuel the prophet, at first insisted that he had done what God told him to do (to destroy all the Amalekites and their cattle), and then that it was because of the people that he saved the King Agag and the fattest cattle. The prophet said to him, “You are finished! The kingdom is taken away from you and will be given to another. You are no longer King.”

It is amazing, however, that for many years after that Saul still reigned! He was a “DEAD MAN WALKING.” He was dead! HE WAS FINISHED, BUT HE CONTINUED TO GO ON; AND GOD SAID THAT THERE ARE SOME IN OUR MIDST WHO ARE WALKING AMONG THE LIVING, BUT THEY ARE DEAD. We need to get dead serious with God, because there are the seeds of death in the midst of God’s people!

Let us read some more Scriptures. Proverbs 21:16, “The man that wandereth out of the way of understanding shall remain in the CONGREGATION OF THE DEAD.”

There is a congregation that is called “the congregation of the dead.” The Word says, he shall remain…” That means that he was there before, and that there is both a “congregation of the living” and a “congregation of the dead.” And God said that the congregation of the living should not fellowship with the congregation of the dead.

(Excerpt from The Omega Message, December 1997, pg. 5-6)

Thought for today: Let us make sure we walk in obedience to God submitting to His Word and correction so that we would be part of the “congregation of the living.”

Scripture reading: Daniel 7:27-28

The Christian church has been given a rule book called the Bible. A victorious book, which has stood fast from the time of Genesis to the present, and has conquered the devils right along the whole passage of time. We have seen some mighty deeds of men. In the example of Job, the book showed us man (stripped of God) conquering the devil. When Job conquered Satan, it was all on his own, since God had withdrawn from him; and the natural man kept his integrity before God and was able to beat the devil. In Job 2:4, Satan said, “skin for skin,” in disdain of man, but the man whom he scorned defeated him; to the glory of God!

Sometimes, when we get into accidents and have devastating experiences, we wonder how God would allow these things to happen to us. These, however, are a part of the challenges that we must face as workers together with God against the powers of darkness. It is not necessarily so, that we made some mistake or committed any sin. We should come out praising God more than ever before, because though the outward man perishes, the glory of God rises inside, and is a light to others and a defeat to the powers of darkness. The enemy never learns. The more he gets beaten, the more he keeps coming. This action makes us stronger and more determined to see the battle to the end.

All these stories in the Bible that God has been showing us, of David’s mighty men, Samson, Esther (a frail woman who was used of God to save the Jewish nation), Deborah the prophetess, Gideon with his 300 men defeating the Midianites, Shamgar with his ox goad defeating the enemy (Judges 3:31), and so many others, have been preserved in the Word for a purpose. There is a people who will never be conquered, but will conquer through the power of their testimony and the Blood of the Lamb. The evil weapons of the enemy’s warfare have now come under the judgment of God, and God has given us power over the power of the enemy. As we rise more and more in the strength of faith and understanding, the great weapons of terror, which the enemy used in the past against the people of God, are losing their effectiveness. We must bear in mind that, “…Though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh: (for the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strongholds;) casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ; and having in a readiness to revenge all disobedience, when your obedience is fulfilled” (II Corinthians 10:3-6).

We need to realize that God has given the church the power over the power of the world and the devil. Let us walk in the Spirit and in the faith of the living God. By faith, we will tread upon serpents; by faith, we will bring deliverance to this generation of people by the power of God and the Blood of Jesus Christ.

(Excerpt from The Omega Message, April 1997, pg. 26-28)

Thought for today: Remember that there is a people who will never be conquered, but will conquer through the power of their testimony and the Blood of the Lamb. Determine in your heart that you will be amongst this people.
