Scripture reading: James 4:7

Let us read Hebrews 12:1 and let me explain to you what it is saying. “Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us…”

You are in a room; there is Jesus standing on one side of that room, and He has a class with Him. The class is the spirits that He is teaching because the spirits that are in heaven must receive from us the manifold wisdom of God. Do you know why? Why is it that heaven has to learn from us? It is because we are in the battle. We are the weak ones. We are the ones who are susceptible and subject to satanic attack. They are not. So, teaching them directly wouldn’t help.

The only way we are going to overcome is to actually go into the thing and come out victorious. So here is Jesus standing, let’s say, in your bedroom, and He has with Him some spirits of the brothers who have gone on before. He sees a devil who is provoking, tempting your wife and tempting you. The devil starts a little fire between you both and you start to quarrel. Then the devil comes and whispers in your ears, “Are you going to let her do you that and get away with it?” And your antennas go up. The spirit of God says, “The Lord is with you, peace, be quiet.” And the devil comes and says to you, “Get on with it, man. You can’t let her get away with that. She’ll just continue walking over you all the while.” But the Lord continues to talk to you. A scripture comes before you, and the battle goes back and forth. Jesus is standing there with some of the saints who were in the same condition in their life. Remember, they can’t be in that condition anymore, but they are seeing the exact thing that was happening to them. The only difference is that now they are seeing the devils that are doing it, and you are not! While this temptation goes on, the Spirit of God comes to you and says, “Resist the devil, and he will flee from you” (James 4:7b). Your wife starts telling you so and so and so and so… And you resist; you don’t say a word. The devils flee from you and the angels of God shout, “Hallelujah!” You are not hearing anything, you are not seeing anything, you feel like a dog! Don’t you understand? You feel as low as a dog. You feel like you have been crushed; and she feels all upset, and is gone crying. You had a victory, but you didn’t even know it. Next thing that happens is that you have the strength to go put your hands around her. “Oh, take your hands off of me!” she says. “Oh, come on…” You follow her up, and finally she begins to complain to you and weep and you just kiss her. And the love of God overcomes!

But what about the time the love of God didn’t overcome? The little devil jumps and rejoices, “I’ve got him! I’ve got him! I’ll come back again!” You see what I mean? The next time he comes back to you he has more power. Then he says, “Divorce!” Yes. He says, “Divorce.” And you say, “Oh, God. Did God tell us to marry?” Then somebody begins to say, “Well, we didn’t hear from God. We married before we heard from God.” Let me tell you something. Everyone of you who marries, whether you were married before you heard from God or not, God has sanctified your marriage and said that your bed is sanctified, and your marriage is sanctified of God; both of you together (Hebrews 13:4). Don’t you EVER think you can walk out of the Body of Christ, go and divorce and live. You’re a goner! You are a dead man! Anyone who ill-treats the sons of God, the daughters of Jesus Christ, my children in the Lord, those I pray for, they will NEVER prosper, they are finished!

Let that soak in a little, because this is what God showed me. This is not the old time church where you can go and do this and do that and get away with it. You are not going to get away! You are finished! I’ve seen some finished and I know they are done. You see, they are running on compression, but they are shot already. My God! You take a child of God, and murder her, spiritually. What do you think you are doing? You are killing yourself! God is going to slay you! You cannot live! You cannot be happy, ever! You are finished!

I’m saying, brethren, that God is binding us together. There is nothing greater in the heart of God. Now, when I say God, do you know who I’m talking about? I mean Yahweh! Jehovah! You call him Jehovah, I am meaning Yahweh! The Mighty God, the Everlasting Father, the Prince of Peace, the One who made everything that you see around you as well as what you can’t see! We are in His presence! Let us be afraid! Let us fear Him!

(Excerpt from The Omega Message, July 2005, pg. 9-11)

Thought for today: We are not in the old time church anymore where we can do what we please and get away with it. We are in the presence of God so let us fear Him.

Scripture reading: 1 John 4:7-8

I Corinthians 13:1 says, “Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not charity (love), I am nothing.” I cannot conceive why they translated this word “charity” because it really is love, “agape.” “2 And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries, and all knowledge; and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, and have not charity, I am nothing.” In other words, God is saying to us that He is going to give us the gifts of the Spirit. But then, we have to grow in maturity, and the growth in maturity is love. Do you understand? You have to be able to love your wife when she is not pretty, even though we all love very pretty things. You know, we men look at our wives and say, “Boy, you are beautiful!” That’s our eyes. But then, sometimes, she gets broken down like any human being; she gets tired, and fussy. That’s the time you must love her. When she is hitting you, that’s the time you must love her.

I know something that changed a man’s whole life for the worse. He was with his wife and children; they had a little quarrel about something, the woman turned around, pulled back her fist, and slammed him right in his mouth. He lost control. If he had overcome that one, the rest of his life would be victory, but he didn’t overcome it. He slapped her down and they got a divorce.

What I am trying to say to you today is that “God is love, and every one that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God. 8 He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love” (1 John 4:7-8).

So, love, then, is something that overcomes the evil that is in us. In other words, the temper that is in you is no good. It is of the devil. It comes from your ancestors, and they want to minister death to you. The moment you resist that temper, and don’t say anything, you have won. When somebody slaps you and you do not repeat it, you don’t say anything, but burn, you have hit the devil and he will flee from you! He will come back again, but will be weaker. Every time you hit him and he comes back, he will be weaker.

Let me tell you something. When it comes to temper, God has given you the power over the temper! You have to use the force of your own will, because God has given you the power. You are not like the sinner who has no power. You have power to overcome the devil!

(Excerpt from The Omega Message, July 2005, pg. 8-9)

Thought for today: Remember, you are not like the sinner who has no power. You have power to overcome the devil!

Scripture reading: Revelation 15:2

It says in Revelation 15:2 that there are people who had “gotten the victory over the beast.” Basically, man has these four beast natures in him. He has the nature of the flying eagle. His mind will always be flying in different directions; high-mindedness will always be rising up and flying off. Man’s emotions are like a fierce, roaring lion that tears its prey and destroys rather than makes whole. His will is stubborn as an ox. Man is a creature who desires everything. He desires heaven and hell at the same time. He will build great palaces and comfortable houses to live in but he will also build machinery of death. He will build armies. He will want to fight, to kill, to overcome his neighbors, and to rule over other people.

THIS IS MAN. These natures have been made inside the man’s soul. This is the man himself. God wants to change this nature. Before the flying eagle can be used of God, it must be changed to an eagle saint, one that will rise up in Christ. In Exodus 19:4 God said that He had borne the Israelites “on eagles’ wings” out of Egypt into Canaan. The great eagle is Jesus Christ Himself. We then have the nature of the eagle. God intends to use this nature, not destroy it but use it, by recreating it with a rebirth. The new eagle is one that will only fly in Christ and rise up in the things of God.

The emotions are wild. I do not need to tell you how wild emotions can be. When they get loose, they are merciless, brutal. God wants to change the emotions from being that of a roaring lion to the nature of “the Lion of the tribe of Juda” that will break the chains of hell, death, and bondage that has bound the whole human race. God has created this Lion to break these chains. In Christ, we will receive the nature of “the Lion of the tribe of Juda” that breaks every chain.

We have the nature of the ox. It will be changed; in Revelation 4 the ox was changed to a calf. The calf is humble and sucks milk. Still of the bovine species, but now it is not stubborn but humble. Humility will be crafted into man’s will, so he no longer wills to rule over his neighbors, his brethren, and his enemies. He will be humble according to the humility of Jesus Christ.

Next, we have THE MAN. This MAN is going to be changed. The change that will come upon him will be as the Son of man, no longer called just man, but SON OF MAN. As God addressed Ezekiel, “Son of man, can these bones live?” God called Jesus Christ, the Son of man, and that is the great name that God gives, the Glory of God. He made Adam and He saw Adam as the man that He would want to be perfected. He had to wait for six thousand years and the time has now come when the new Adam will come forth. The second Adam, Jesus Christ, came and saved the first Adam. We can understand then what God is saying.

Thought for today: As we submit to the Spirit of God, our beast nature is being changed into the nature of Christ.

Scripture reading: Romans 6:16

Scripture states in 1 Corinthians 15:56 that the “strength of sin is the law.” This means that because of sin the law was necessary. Without sin the devil would have no power over humanity. But the Christian though redeemed still sins, thus giving Satan a right over God’s possession. This law of the spirit is clearly stated in the Apostle Paul’s letter to the Roman church:

Romans 6:16, “Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants (slaves) ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death or of obedience unto righteousness.”

In the mount of temptation, Satan clearly stated to Jesus that the kingdoms of the world were given to him:

Luke 4:6, “And the devil said unto him, All this power will I give thee, and the glory of them: for that is delivered unto me; and to whomsoever I will, I give it.”

These kingdoms of men were not given to Satan by God, but man relinquished it by the law of war described by Jesus Christ:

Matthew 12:29, “Or else, how can one enter into a strong man’s house, and spoil his goods, except he first bind the strong man? and then he will spoil his house.”

All the laws of God are good for the children of God. Nevertheless, we find the devil using them against the people of God. It is simple to look historically at God’s dealings and to see a pattern of behavior that is not human but absolutely effective. God’s ways are so much higher than man’s ways.

In delivering the Israelites from Egypt, God called out evil angels (Psalms 78:49) to kill all the firstborn in Egypt. In His order to the spirits of death, He did not tell them only to kill Egyptians, but to kill all the firstborn. The Lord then instructed Moses how to defeat the spirits with the blood on the doorposts and lintels. The lamb without spot or blemish, slain in obedience to the Lord, became an acceptable type of Christ. The blood applied to the doors and windows flashed forth the glory of God in the face of the spirits and they could not enter the houses of the Israelites. It did not matter even if many Egyptian firstborn might be within the house; they had to flee from such a house.

Another instance of God’s peculiar dealings can be seen in the story of Herod’s trying to kill the baby Jesus. God did not stop Herod, but gave Joseph a dream to flee into the land of Egypt with the young child until Herod was dead.

In the same way, the Lord told the devil in Genesis 3:14, “…dust shalt thou eat all the days of thy life.” In verse 19, He said to Adam, “…dust thou art.” It looks at a glance that the Lord is giving us to Satan as his food, but at a closer scrutiny we find that God has actually given us the power to destroy Satan by denying him of his food. We now control the food of the enemy, and as we grow in righteousness, we more and more starve Satan and his hosts in a battle that we are winning more and more every day.

(Excerpt from The Omega Message, January 1993, pg. 9-10)

Thought for today: Remember God has given us the power to destroy Satan by denying him of his food. Choose to starve Satan out in your life!

Scripture reading: Romans 11:13-15 & 25-31

In Romans 11 Paul is talking to the natural Jew and he is talking about the natural Gentile. He is telling of the destiny of the Jew and the Gentile. The Jew was cast away by God because He wanted to bring in the harvest of the Gentile. When the harvest of the Gentile comes in, then He is going to again bring in the Jew. God is going to use the Gentile church, THE CHURCH, to deliver the Jewish people from the sin of unbelief into which they have fallen. They are going to have some very convincing arguments from God through the church. Scripture says that through the church the manifold wisdom of God will be preached to principalities and powers, and, of course, to the Jews. See Ephesians 3:9-10.

Revelation 11:2 tells us that for “forty and two months” Jerusalem shall be trodden down of the Gentiles. We are talking about the Jerusalem of God, not just the natural Jerusalem. Natural Jerusalem is going to be attacked and trodden down and spiritual Jerusalem (the outer court of the church) will be totally destroyed. “Forty and two months” is three and a half years. Other scriptures tell us what is going to happen in these three and a half years. Let us first look at the verse below.

Revelation 11:3, “And I will give power unto my two witnesses, and they shall prophesy a thousand two hundred and threescore days, clothed in sackcloth.”

During the time when the outer court is being trampled under foot, the holy of holies is going to be riding high and really battling the enemy. “I will give power unto my two witnesses Take that picture. One part of the church is being trampled, and the other part they cannot touch, they are afraid of them. We will see also, as we go on further in the study, that there is yet another part that is going to be protected and not touched at all. THREE PARTS – one part will protect the other, and the outer court, which is indefensible, will be trodden down by the enemy.

Daniel 7:21 and 22, “I beheld, and the same horn made war with the saints (this horn is the antichrist), and prevailed against them; Until the Ancient of days came, and judgment was given to the saints of the most High; and the time came that the saints possessed the kingdom.”

Further light comes on this subject in verse 25. “And he shall speak great words against the most High, and shall wear out the saints of the most High, and think to change times and laws: and they shall be given into his hand until a time and times and the dividing of time” (until this three and a half years). This is the time when the saints will get power and begin to show forth their authority. They will not have the final victory over the enemy until the end of the three and a half years. One part of the church will be suffering during the three and a half years, the other part will be a fighting church overcoming the enemy, and the other part will be a hiding church being preserved and hidden from the enemy. This all depends on the power that this section of the church has.

The outer court people will have no power against what Satan is going to throw against them, because they have not been submitted to Christ. The holy place people will have the power, but they will have the power to escape and to be hidden and preserved. The holy of holies people will have the power to stand before the enemy and drive him from them, until finally they gain the victory over the enemy, over Satan and his hosts, and the world and all their technology, after three and a half years.

(Excerpt from The Book of Revelation, Volume 2, pages 7-9)

Thought for today: Let us strive to be part of the Church that cannot be touched and is overcoming the enemy.
