Omega Message – June 1984
Poem by Evangeline Castillo
Peru, South America
What should I do today, Lord?
The hours speed swiftly by!
And life is made of hustle and trade
With no heed for the tears and sighs.
Grant me a word that brings cheer, Lord,
Give me a word with a smile
Help me to lighten their load, Lord,
Help me to walk with them a mile.
Give me a prayer that soars up, Lord,
Beyond the clouds and dark skies,
On wings of love and of faith, Lord,
That helps above trials to rise.
Give me a hand quick to help, Lord
To lift off their burden of care,
Give me a mind that’s alert, Lord,
Some timely counsel to share.
Give me a song that gives faith, Lord,
To those who need courage today,
So I shall rejoice for this day, Lord,
My time spent, your joy does repay.
