Omega Message – December 1998
Mike Daniel
The Lord gave me a vision not too long ago that I feel that I need to share. It was a vision of two paths. One was just a normal every day dirt path. It was straight, but it was just “plain”. Then there was another path that had lights and it had candy and all the things you would desire of the world and it was a pavement road, you know, it was a path that was smooth.
Well, there were some young people and they were talking about which path they wanted to go down.
One said, “Hey, let’s go down this one. It has candy. It has lights. It’s pavement. It’s better!”
There were a couple of young people that just said, “Let’s try this other one. We need to try the other one. It’s straight and we need to go down this one.”
And they went and started down that road, while the other ones (there were multitudes of them) were going down the pavement road and they were eating the candy and just enjoying themselves and having a good time.
Well, they just kept walking and all this time, this road had a very, very gentle transition from pavement and then it started going to gravel. It was just so gentle that they hardly noticed it and it was starting to turn away from the other path. It was just a slight gradual turn and it was just hard to notice unless you were really looking. So they were just walking down the road having a good time and they got caught up and the road started turning into dirt and into muck and they were being brought down. They were stuck! They could not move! It was taking everything from them and that candy and pop, it just was not giving them the substance that they needed to keep going and they were falling on each other trying to get out.
The other young people who were going down the straight road, as they would go on the way, there were springs of life-giving water and milk and bread. It was there just when they needed it and when they felt they just could not go on anymore. And then, they walked further and it got beautiful and God was just everywhere. And they would drink of the life-giving water and it would give them everything that they needed.
The ones on the other road, they had always felt that they could always get back on the other path:
“We are not too far from it. It’s right there.”
But the path they were on just started to spiral and they were getting caught up and they could not get out and they were getting stuck. They were climbing the walls and a few were getting out, but there were multitudes that were not.
If we just stay on that straight and narrow path with the life-giving water and the bread and milk and substance that our body needs. The Lord knows what we need. He knew we did not need pop and candy because it had no substance, He wanted to give us meat and life….
