Omega Message – October 1984

In Scripture the thought is often repeated, that there is a time when the Body of Christ would rise up from the dark places where she is being held prisoner, to follow Jesus Christ as Lord and King. There are too many of us Christians who know Jesus Christ as Savior, because He pulled us from our despicable state, but we do not see the absolute need of knowing Him as Lord and King.
The “Songs of Solomon” speaks of this time as the time of the “Singing of the Birds”.
Song of Solomon 2:11-12 “My beloved spake and said unto me, Rise up my love, my love my fair one and come away. For lo the Winter is past the rain is over and gone; The flowers appear on the earth; the time of the singing of the birds is come and the voice of the turtle is heard in Our Land.”
In the past, the Prophets were used of God to alert the people of the advent of the times. The Lord clearly states in the word that he would do nothing unless He would tell it to His servants. The coming of Jesus Christ did not reduce this process, but it enhanced it. One of the marks of a true Prophet of God in our time, is that he prophesies upon the word of God. This means that the ministry of the prophet in the New Testament Church, must be part of the guiding hand of the Lord Jesus to keep us away from heresies and that we no longer be tossed to and fro by every wind of doctrine. The next very important and most imperative quality of the prophet in the today church is, that his prophecy must glorify God. Glorifying God does not mean that we keep repeating “Glory to God,” or “Praise the Lord,” or other words of praise, but that the power of God goes with the ministry to bless and lift up people to see Jesus Christ as Lord. God therefore, in our time is using the Ministers and the Ministry to give us a sure and direct word.
The Apostles, the Prophets, the Evangelists, the Shepherds (co-shepherds with Christ), and the Teachers, set of God in the Church, are not only Ministers or servants, which is the proper translation, but Ministries OR SPIRITUAL ENDOWMENTS within the church. It is not hard to understand when you consider that a living body must have all functioning parts each performing its own task for the good of the body, all connected to some main system, all attached to the brain which co-ordinates intelligent action.
Today, therefore, God still gives His Word to His Apostles, Prophets, etc. to give to His Body, and there is a Body that is connected to the Head that hears and understands and obeys. Nevertheless, alas! Many of God’s people are still in such a terrible state of drowsiness and sleep that they do not have the discernment to identify the true ministry to the Body of Christ. The Outer Court Ministries, (those who are doing their own thing and blaming it on God), are well supplied and in most cases oversupplied. Every organism is part of a body and if we are called to the Body of Christ then we are part of a function of God in the earth which Christ has honored with His name, “The Body of Christ.”
Many of us are sinning against the body by not using all our substance and strength to glorify God. I have seen members of the Body eroding the very life blood from the Body by giving to causes which are not glorifying God. If this part of the message seems to be distasteful, please look at it from God’s point of view, and maybe it is just the medicine you require.
We do not have a choice any more. The walk is getting narrower and narrower and there is only one way for us to go.
False prophets and false apostles are parading in ever increasing numbers as the agents of Christ, so that they inundate the groups and little cells of the Body in such a way as to retard their function and growth. The worse part of this problem stems from the fact that almost all of these people of God are called of God and some have been mighty workers of God who have gradually lost their first love and either settled for fame and status or have been turned out of the way by “Filthy lucre.” Under these circumstances it is difficult to discern them especially when we have not grown out of the “respecter of persons” category as yet.
Let us remember that Judas was one of the twelve Apostles of the Lamb. I believe that the Anti Christ must come from among the brethren; He must be a man of the church who will betray us even as Judas betrayed Our Lord, and it may be also possible that this will be done because of the same reasons, greed for money and power. This greed has made shipwreck of many mighty men, and even now some of us are selling our birthright for Politics. Jesus Christ said that, the Abomination of Desolation would stand up (take authority over) in the Holy Place. For those of us who do not believe that a Holy Place is going to be built in Jerusalem, then we must believe that Holy Place is the THIRD TEMPLE OR in other words the Church the temple of the living God. The Apostle Paul, in speaking to the Thessalonians told us that the anti-christ would set up his throne in the temple of God showing himself to be God.
Many of us know Jesus Christ as savior and to us He is precious, we surely do not want to lose him, but, we keep him as number two in our lives – Jesus must be number ONE or nothing. Jesus Christ Must Be Lord.
If the members of the Body of Christ, of which they are a part, having been engrafted in of the Spirit, fail to discern the Body of Christ, then they will be, “Weak and sickly,” and so they are.
This is a dangerous time to be weak and sickly, spiritually speaking. This is “—The time of the singing of the birds.” This means that even as birds sing to herald the morning, the coming forth of the sun, the breaking of a new day, so the messengers of the Lord are heralding a new message of the breaking of the day.
Morning is breaking
Sons are awaking
Darkness retreating
Light coming forth
Round the dark mountain
Marching no longer
Life like a fountain
Breaks from the earth.
It is most astounding that THIS, the greatest of all the signs of the coming Of Jesus Christ; is most commonly overlooked by the church. Malachi chapter 3 and verse one speaks of the “Messenger of the Covenant” suddenly descending into His temple. In Joel chapter 2 and verse one we see that the trumpet will be blown in Zion. This means that whatever God is about to do, the people nearest to him, or the Zion Company, will be the first ones to hear the message. The confusion of the near resemblance of the false and the true, makes it humanly impossible to be able to logically tell them apart. This we do know and rejoice for, that God is in charge and He allows it all.
I have heard of a case where God sent a messenger with a message to a well known man of god, “—Beware lest you become a prophet to the anti-christ.” No! He did not believe it. It is indeed amazing that although we read our Bibles that Paul said that he had to be careful lest after preaching to others he could become a cast-away, many of us still do not believe that through protracted disobedience we could fall in this place of Judas or Saul.
Song of Solomon 2:9 “My beloved is like a roe or a young hart: behold he standeth behind our wall, he looketh forth at the windows, showing himself through the lattice.”
Can you not see him coming? With great agility and acrobatic precision he leaps over our WALLS (if we let him); he scales our mountains and barriers, which we have placed between us. A wall is not a natural barrier. It is a deliberate, calculated construction made by man to keep something out and something in. The Lord is saying that our walls are keeping him out. If we build a wall against our brother, we automatically build a wall against God himself.
In Verse 8 the thought is that he comes leaping on the mountains and skipping over the hills. With the agility of a mountain goat he leaps over the natural barriers, which would separate us. The mountains and the hills are barriers, which I cannot remove, but the Lord uses them as highway. A goat loves to be on the rocks. It is his natural habitat.
Another man-made barrier is the lattice. The intention of the lattice work is to obstruct vision, but, he shows himself through the lattice. Jesus Christ is at this time showing himself to us in every way possible. If you believe in dreams and visions, he is showing himself in these; if you believe in the word of God, he is showing himself in the word. He is showing himself to us in the Spirit. He is showing himself to us in the inner voice. Do not say any more, my mind says this and my mind says that; believe God’s word and you will hear Him speak within. The Apostles and Prophets, Evangelists, Shepherds and Teachers are all trumpeting the message of the day – “—Rise up ——-and come away.” Come away from the false Apostles who are not saying “Come away”, but are saying come to us and we will make you prosperous because it is written in the scriptures that you should prosper. Anything which takes the place of the pure unadulterated Gospel of Jesus Christ in our lives; is robbing us of the true blessings of the Gospel. Any gospel which does not make me better for Christ and does not help me to get rid of sin and my sinful nature, is not glorifying Jesus Christ; it is another gospel.
Daniel 8:25 “And through his policy also he shall cause craft to prosper in his hand: ————–and by PEACE shall destroy many —————-“
The word translated PEACE in the King James is “Shava” in the Hebrew. This word is more accurately translated “prosperity”. The word for peace is “Shalom”. We need to be very careful that in running after prosperity and independence, that we do not lose our spiritual nature and put on the nature of the evil one in the realm of greed. What I am trying to say is that we should not pay so much attention to the things of the world which will soon pass away, but to the eternal things which, if we could see their real value, we would sell all we have to obtain them.
When a gangster begins to talk they use the phrase, “singing” to describe it. In the same sense it seems to me that the messengers of God are “singing”.
Ephesians 4:14 “That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive.”
God has set in the church a true ministry that will glorify God. The ministry I speak of is not just the Servants He has given us who are coming forth, not serving themselves, but the people of God, but the ministry within every member of the Body. There is no member of the body, which has any trouble recognizing the other part. In the last couple of weeks the headlines were all speaking of a little girl who received a baboon’s heart as a transplant. With much inducement from the doctors, her body was able to tolerate it for about three weeks, but eventually her body rejected it and she died. The body of Christ has the Holy Spirit to show us good from evil. Just as the taste glands of a person will reject certain things, so it is that we who are waiting for the descent of Jesus Christ within His temple, need to exercise the gifts of discernment which we have through the Holy Spirit. Miracles are taking place, which do not Glorify God. If in my ministry miracles, is my mode of advertisement, then miracles would not be glorifying God but my ministry. The ministry which God gives and which we see coming forth more and more in the church, does not seek its own glory and does not even care about being named.
In the midst of this confusion of voices and the confusion of light, (false lights are glowing and false suns are shining); God expects those who trust Him and are His sheep to listen for and to hear His voice. We should refuse to listen to any voice, which gives us a feeling of trepidation or doubt. When we pray to God we should expect an answer. Sometimes we pray and expect God to answer in a special way. God does not want to always speak to us in dreams or visions, or by voice, or by messenger, but He wants us to be trained to hear Him in our hearts.
Sometimes He is SHOUTING but we are not listening. Nothing impairs the listening process as listening to the wrong things, or even the right things in the wrong places or at the wrong time.
Ephesians 4:15-16 “But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into Him in all things, which is the head even Christ: From whom the whole Body fitly joined together and compacted by that which every joint supplieth, according to the effectual working in the measure of every part, maketh increase of the body unto the edifying of itself in love.”
Parts of a body cannot at the same time be part of another body. Those who are engrafted into the body by the Spirit of God cannot be part of other spiritual bodies or religious bodies. Those who have the desire to be in a cult will always be in a cult. Every religious practice is cultish. If you keep Sunday as a holy day you are subscribing to something cultish. If you give your money to cultish religious organizations, you are automatically bleeding the body of Christ. Yes Christ is still being crucified; Christ is still being tortured and bled.
Let us watch and be sober and stand on Mount Zion blowing the trumpet for we should know by this that we constitute part of those Singing Birds.
