Omega Message – March 1990
February 19, 1990
Dear Brethren,
This is a letter of thanks to you for your support during the past years. It would be impossible for us to accomplish all that we have without your prayers and financial participation. This is the word therefore that the Lord is giving to you and to your children. God has not forgotten your children to bless them also, even though they may go astray. We are praying for them also:
Exodus 19:5-6: “Now therefore, if ye will obey my voice indeed, and keep my covenant, then ye shall be a peculiar treasure unto me above all people: for all the earth is mine: And ye shall be unto me a kingdom of priests, and an holy nation…”
Once again we are at the threshold of a new year and we thank God for all His blessings and the abundance of mercy which He has shown us during the past year. We look forward to a very busy and fruitful 1990.
First, we must thank all those who have sacrificed, both with their goods and prayers, to make it possible for us to have achieved very outstanding results for 1989. We visited Africa once during the year, and were abundantly blessed with what God is doing in at least ten cities across Nigeria. Nigeria is alive for God. The true Gospel of the Kingdom has taken root in the hearts of men and women of integrity, and they are laying down their lives to bear this word, not just to Nigeria but to all Africa.
The work in India is progressing and we understand that the orphanage building is now completed and ready for about ten children to be taken in. We will be publishing their pictures and asking brethren to sponsor them as soon as we get further details on the cost, etc. Brother and sister Herrig are being sent of God to India to observe their order and to bring strength.
Jerry Gadwa is doing well in Iceland, and we visited him February 1-11, 1990. There has been a revival of interest in the word of the kingdom, and a candle has surely been lighted in Iceland. (Please continue to stand with us in prayer).
Sister Barbara Walton has been blessed with a home in Switzerland, and God is using her greatly in Europe (Poland, Switzerland, Germany, etc.). This spring and summer, many of the brethren will be going to Europe to minister, especially in those parts of eastern Europe where bibles were previously prohibited.
Some months ago, the Lord showed me the map of the world with some divisions on it. We were talking together, and one brother said that we would be going through “all the world,” but the Lord said, “No, you will only have time to go into Europe.” Another word from the Lord come to sister Mavis: She saw us on the streets of Europe ministering to the people. We are committed to be with Sister Barbara in Zurich, March 23-30 (We crave your prayers). God is anointing the Body to jump into the breach in Europe before it closes. Our lives and our safety are in the hand of the Lord.
For the trip to Europe, we are seeking to purchase bibles in German (preferably the old Lutheran bible), Polish, Russian, and all the Slav languages. We are at present planning to buy the bibles from the German Bible Society in Frankfurt. Already, some of the brethren have gone into Poland and Russia, and have made contacts; and others will be going in April and June. Those who feel a leading to send donations to the missionary fund should send them to the Sonlight Gospel Missionary Fund. No expenses will be taken out of this fund. Every cent of this money will be spent for missions by the board of trustees. Reports will be periodically published as to the money spent from this account.
SCHEDULE TO THE END OF MAY 1990:
(1) From March 23 to March 30 1990, the Lord willing, we will be in Zurich, Switzerland with Sister Barbara Walton and the brethren there.
(2) From March 30 through April 23,1990 we will be in Nigeria and Ghana. There will be a convention in Lagos from April 13 to April 17.
(3) Let us pray especially for George and Sue Herrig and any others whom the Lord might be sending to India to preach the word and to take care of the business pertaining to the Church there. They expect to be traveling to India in late March – early April.
(4) The annual convention of the Sonlight Gospel Association will be held at the University of Illinois, on the Memorial Day weekend. It will convene on Saturday, May 26 to Monday, May 28. Accommodation and food will be supplied at the University. Details will be published in our next publication.
(5) There is one commitment for May 1990, which has not been mentioned. We have not as yet set the date, but we will be visiting the Washington Correctional Center for the 2nd time to preach to the prisoners there. There has been a real stir of the Spirit in this institution. “I was in prison and ye came unto me…” (Matthew 25:36). We have found some of God’s chosen in prison.
In this year, God is calling us to evangelism. We are indeed our brother’s keepers. If God called you and told you that New York City was about to be destroyed, and you had family living there, then you would immediately find yourself in the position of Abraham, who was told of God that Sodom (where his nephew Lot lived) was to be destroyed. It would immediately become a matter of intense concern to you, and of course, you would do something about it. This, therefore, is our position for the year 1990; the only difference is that we are not talking about a city, but rather a whole world.
We are being challenged on all fronts, and we are well able to win on all fronts, but I see a great danger of many of us falling by the wayside in 1990.
THE AREA OF GREATEST CHALLENGE AND GREATEST VICTORY IS THAT OF OUR PERSONAL HOLINESS. This is the word which the Lord brings to me in the first hours of 1990:
1 Corinthians 10:31: “Whether ye eat, or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the Glory of God.”
The Lord is speaking to us to go into Europe (including Russia), Africa, and India. We have received enough from God, so that we can now impart to others. There are many out there who are imparting what they have, who have less than we do. God is maturing the Church by this process. We are not being asked to run out to these places indiscriminately, but we should begin to seek the Lord for His will and purpose in our lives.
May the Lord abundantly bless you this year, and give you the strength to be overcomers, overcoming self and sin, and then the spirits of the age. These spirits will be stronger this year than they have ever been since creation.
Please pray with us and partake with us of the warfare of this year. There is no area of neutrality in the battle. We are all involved.
Let the peace of God that passes all understanding be with you and strengthen you, and keep you in His perfect will.
Yours in Christ,
Cecil and Mavis DuCille
