Omega Message – July 2011
Chijioke Nwauche
It is with a heart full of praise and thanksgiving that we give this report of the just ended mission trip to Central Africa Republic, Uganda, Democratic Republic of Congo (Kinshasa), Republic of Congo (Brazzaville), Kenya, Gabon and Sierra Leone during the months of April/May, 2011. This particular mission trip marks a turning point in the current campaign to take this good news of the kingdom to every hungry and willing heart in Africa. The high point of our experiences was that the fire of the Holy Ghost fell in every nation visited with mighty breakthroughs in the spirit and glorious ministry of the word under strong anointings of the spirit coupled with great deliverances and visitations upon the assemblies and hearts of the people of God. We do believe and testify that Africa will never be the same again. Praise the Lord!!
We do testify that the tempo, content and message that is coming forth from God to His people at this time has indeed been raised to a higher threshold, even that of the practical experiences of that place and realm of the spirit referred to in the scriptures as the “The day of Atonement”.
1. Central Africa Republic (April 01-06, 2011)
This was the first country to be visited by our team consisting of brothers Isaac Ihekwoaba, Yaguo Ide, and Chijioke Nwauche (Nigeria) and Ronald Johnson (Sierra Leone/Kinshasa). Our host was Brother Alphonse Bonda in whose home most of the meetings were held except for the weekend meetings that took place in one of the big Pentecostal churches in Bangui, the nation’s capital.
This being the very first time of hearing this word of the kingdom, many were quite shaken in their belief system especially among the church leadership but most received the word gladly. A house fellowship has taken root in brother Alphonse’s home which includes most members of his family who also had personal deliverances from the bondage of the devil.
Due to the high impact of this visit, a follow-up one is being planned during this upcoming summer holidays in early September as we have continued to receive personal testimonies from Alphonse and the others, of God’s goodness and blessings upon them since the visit. During the visit, we received several directional dreams/visions revealing the total dominion and bondage of the devil over the country on one hand and of God’s visitation upon religious Babylon in the land such that the ministry that we brought was used of God to encourage them to come up to a higher ground of consecration to the Lord. We also had two radio broadcasts of 30 minutes on two consecutive days of which Brother Alphonse is still receiving responses and questions from those who tuned in to the programme.
2. Uganda (April 07-12, 2011)
Brother Ebere Ohameje from the Owerri fellowship joined me. Upon arrival to the home of one of the church leaders in the Zana area of Kampala the nation’s capital, we found it overflowing with other church leaders and workers. After being welcomed with a warm reception, we had wonderful fellowship with them during which the word came forth regarding the change in church structure from the one-man/pastor-type format to the ministry of the body and of our being the temple and dwelling place of God. The following days of ministry was in the church building of the ministry and had several of the church leaders and workers in attendance. The ministry of the word covered several areas of fundamental truth including traditional marriage, denominations and the nationalistic spirit.
On one of the days, brother Wilson took us out of town to his farmland located on a hillside on the road to the neighbouring country of Burundi, where he goes out to weekly for about two days. Here, they camp out with the youths in the church with whom he does the farm work in the day and prayer / bible study sessions in the night time. The church leaders here have formed themselves into teams that have the vision of taking this word of the kingdom to all the regions of the Uganda and also beyond to the surrounding countries of Burundi, Rwanda and DR Congo.
Part of the burden that was delivered to the brethren here was to equip them to separate themselves from the current nationalistic/tribal tension that is characterizing the post-election violence which came to a climax with an opposition protest march around Kampala on the morning of 12 April after our departure. We encouraged them to take spiritual authority and to stand in the gap against the forces of darkness that are determined to bring about a bloodshed and civil war.
The plan now is to take the meetings to other parts of Uganda during our next visit. Brother Wilson and the brethren here are now making an effort at responding to the ministry to them and are restructuring their setup with elders being put in place. They have remained in constant communications with us and continue to testify of God’s goodness and blessings upon them.
3. Democratic Republic of Congo (April 12-18, 2011)
The ministry here was ground-breaking on three scores:
- This visit was the first time of taking the ministry beyond the capital city of Kinshasa to Goma in the south-east border of DRC with Rwanda; the epicenter of all the conflicts, volcanic activity and resource in this mineral-rich nation. We ministered for two days at the fellowship where Brother Anderson is one of the leaders. We also met a Pentecostal bishop who oversees all the Pentecostal churches in the south Kivu region who has requested us to come and host a conference with all the ministers in that area when next we visit. We had a great fellowship with the brethren here.
- We also officiated and ministered at the first wedding in the Kinshasa group amongst two of the young people in which for the very first time, the yoke of traditional marriage and other marriage rites (both African and western/Caucasian cultural types) were broken. There was no dowry paid but according to the pattern set forth in Genesis chapter 24 for Christian marriages, gifts were given to members of the bride’s family. It was a glorious breakthrough for the church in DRC, Africa and the body of Christ globally. What had been proclaimed for decades as being impossible and stipulated also as being statutory in the laws of DR Congo, became bread and a source of triumph and victory for the people of God. Alleluia!!!
- This trip also provided a forum for the Kinshasa brethren to begin to reach out to the other French-speaking countries in Africa. They were involved in the missions to Central Africa Republic through Brothers Ronald and Alphonse and in the Republic of Congo (Brazzaville through Brother Baraka and sister Therese).
We bless God for what He is doing in the Congo even as the church continues to wax stronger and as we look to the Lord to direct and strengthen us to reach out to the other doors that are opening up in the other regions of Lumumbashi and Kisangani in the DRC.
4. Republic of Congo (April 19-21, 2011)
This visit to the capital city of Brazzaville was rather short and was meant to be a follow-up on the first visit here a few months back in February, 2011. Things are still in the preliminary stages as our ministry was localized to visiting and ministering to individuals and families. We had two of the young brethren from the Kinshasa group with us as interpreters.
We believe God for a breakthrough here even as the lord has showed us clearly that this land and its people are ripe and ready for harvest.
5. Kenya (April 21 – May 02, 2011)
The refreshing aspect of our ministry here was that we (Brother Ebere and I) were joined by Brother Uwak one of the young brothers from the Lagos Shomolu fellowship. The mission here in Kenya was quite comprehensive being that we had meetings at the conference over the Easter holidays in Ngong/Nairobi with Brother Alfred Kirubi, in Njoro/Nakuru with Brother Paul Wambua and finally in Mombassa area with Brother Kinoogah:
Ngong/Nairobi: The meetings here were at the Teaching conference over the Easter holidays. It was very good with the Holy Ghost anointing the word and ministry to break new grounds that have been untouched before now as regards the much needed transition from the pastor- type Pentecostal to the body ministry type ministry that is being effected of God within the church. There was much emphasis on the call for the soul of man to be restored to the place of submission to the covering, nurturing, leadership and union the spirit of Christ as originally purposed of God for the First Adam in much the same manner in which the prodigal son repented of his rebellion and independence of the rule and government of the father.
Njoro/Nakuru: Here ministry was arranged by Brother Paul Wambua to hold at one of the Pentecostal churches in Njoro for two days. We also visited the two acre farm land that Brother Paul has just acquired right on the highway which he plans to be developed into a guest house and farm. We are also praying about the burden he has for us to have a major outreach in the North Western part of Kenya next year during which he plans to assemble church leaders and workers including young people for a time of in depth teaching and study of God’s word. When the Prayer retreat is completed, the plan is to have periods in which Church leaders and workers from the East and Central Africa area and beyond would be quartered for longer periods and brethren can assemble here from around Africa and beyond to minister to these workers who can then return to their locations with a better and grounded understanding of the kingdom word.
We are also praying along with him for a planned combined outreach to the southern parts of Africa later this year to Zambia, Botswana and Namibia, while the mission to the soon –to-be- independent and war-torn nation of Southern Sudan is planned for early next year 2012.
Mombassa: The ministry here was the last leg of this marathon campaign through much of East and central Africa. We visited Brother Kinoogah where a new fellowship has just been established in a suburb of Mombasssa known as Mtwapa. Meetings here were from Thursday to Saturday while we fellowshipped with the brethren in the older group (Mtonpanga) in downtown Mombassa on Sunday morning before leaving for Nairobi for our onward return home to Nigeria. Due to the hunger for the word of the kingdom and the fierce attack of the enemy upon the brethren here, we are praying about a return visit later this year.
6. Sierra Leone (April 20-25, 2011):
The visit to Lakka, near Freetown was by Brother Hubert and Sister Domotimi Manilla who linked up with Brother Burt to support the brethren in conducting the first marriage in the fellowship involving two of the young people there. As was the case in Kinshasa, DRC; it was a great demonstration of the testimony of Christ over and against the traditions of the local Creole culture: which is an admixture of several African and western culture due to the slave trade-related background of Sierra Leone. It was a confrontation with very ancient spirits and dominions over which the people of God gained a resounding victory. We bless God for the great things he has done on our behalf.
7. Gabon (April 27 – May 05, 2011)
This mission was undertaken by Brother Yaguo Ide from Port Harcourt, Nigeria; and Brother Obinna and Sister Chioma Okpoechi from the Gamba (Shell Camp) fellowship in Gabon. The week-long conference was designed to strengthen and encourage the young group in the capital city of Libreville. It was very successful and explosive. We give God the praise for the great deliverances and blessings that were showered upon His people. A follow up meeting is planned in late October this year.
FUTURE MISSIONS AND OUTREACH PROGRAMMES
We are earnestly looking to the Lord to strengthen us to undertake the following outreaches even as we request for intercessions, prayers and supplications from the body regarding the growth and encouragement of the various groups and fellowships across Africa:
September, 2011
Return visits to Central Africa republic, Republic of Congo (Brazzaville), Democratic Republic of Congo and Mombassa in Kenya are planned in September, while the brethren in Lakka- Freetown, Sierra Leone would be hosting their annual conference from 13-18 September, 2011.
October/November, 2011
The final outreach being planned for this year will be to make a return visit to Botswana (where we visited two years ago) and to break new grounds in the two locations of Namibia and Zambia, God willing.
Southern Sudan: A mission outreach is also being planned for this new location early next year and we are praying about going in here with Educational and Medical Missions, given the war-torn and very poor resource base of this country. We are believing God for grace to practically demonstrate the Love of Jesus to these precious souls during this outreach.
Blessed be the name of the Lord for the great and mighty things He alone has done in these mission fields…For thine is the kingdom, the honour and the Glory, forever and ever, Amen.
